Shroud is on it’s way, so……..
while I’m waiting, should I vent the front barrel bushing? Would it help with noise suppression? it’s a TSS with 12″ barrel, shroud is a GTBJay. Thanks.

Perhaps I should just ask this question..Has anyone here ever vented the bushing and found that it did not quieten down the gun to any degree whatsoever?? 😀 😀
a few of these guys like to play around. dont fall into it! i did for a little bit. all youll do is tire your wrists out typing response after response…if they dont get the question, or refuse to answer it in your preferred intellectual capacity, just wait til someone else does…its not worth the trouble playng roundyround word games with people you will probably never even meet. (just my observations)
anyway, ive not gotten the bushings vented on my ss (yet) ive been skeptical, and i have a pretty basic 3″ bullseye bills “frame extender” type shroud (i guess you could call it a shroud.)and it does work, although probably not as well as a better one, and i have 18 inch .177 .22 barrels. if you decide to vent, lemme know how you like em, please?
im satisfied with my quietness, but a little more for a few bux never hurts anything!!! njoy dat ss!!! i love mine!!!!

What decibel level ??? mine’s too low to measure now–I got shroud in this morning’s USPS, put it in and got it properly aligned..Half a dozen shots later and DAMMITMAN it’s WAAAAAY quiet..all I can hear now is the hammer…..THANKS LEE!! thing works oh so damn good!! so in the end, I answered my own question..the answer is NO-don’t bother with venting the bushing…it’s quiet enough with just the GTBJay shroud installed…man!!! what a difference ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗
I know you don’t care about decibel levels, but even if it only makes it quieter by 3dB, the sound is cut in half!
Vent the bushing already…..! And behind the vented bushing, and infront of the second bushing, you can make a small vent hole in the frame. It will make the gun a little bit quieter.
Not really a trick question..and I could care less which one quietened it down the most..that doesn’t mean a thing to me.All I wanted to know is if the gun would be quieter with BOTH mods done than it would be with just ths shroud installed…very simple question actually..I’m too old to be wasting time with making a note of how many decivels lower the gun is with just the shroud, and how many more decibels quieter it is with the bushing vented versus what decibel level was before venting the bushing SHEEEEESH..

they’re just playing with the newbie. vent the thing. if you make a mistake, so what, buy another bushing.

After seeing inside the factory shroud, I realize that I could go up to an 18″ barrel and still keep ALL that barrel length inside the factory shroud. would just have to open up hole in the end cap, and get a muzzle brake that simply slides on over OD of barrel….like the TKO I have on my Crosman 2250 carbine..only question is….where can I get the $$$$ to buy a barrel and MB???? 😥 😥 😥
