Q:

Silent Pellet Trap

I want to build a REAL silent trap for garden shooting.

I have tried the putty, cotton and fibre thing. The idea will be more of an large attenuator with sound absorbing material, like Rockwool.

Is there perhaps someone that has done this successfully or have some ideas?

Regards
Hein

I just ordered some. Got it for free (enough to fill a Bucket) since i lied a little bit – or shall we say bend the truth some – and said that i represent a Gun Club and we´re in need for new pellet traps for our indoor range (kinda truth but not exactly) but we need to test if that Rubber Mulch works for it. If it does we´ll buy a truckload of that so …

Mattias – do a Google search, in Swedish : Gummigranulat !

Where Can i buy rubbermulch in Sweden/Nordic?

If you do go with the rubber mulch, I suggest getting a bag of the small shredded ones and one bag of the chunks. Mix them together to remove the air space.

Hi,

this is something what i also thinking out. I thinking to design pellet trap for powerfull airguns and that must to be quiet because mine shooting place is our house cold upper floor.

Rubber landscape mulch works well.
