…I must add that I never claimed my tests were scientific – no one did. That is why they are called “reviews” and not “experiments”. 😉

Besides, you know darn well that if I performed my tests scientifically (not that I have that kind of money or time) that there would be 100’s of posts re: how these tests are worthless because they don’t reflect how the gun would perform in the “real world”.

More so, you need a lab…..

To get anything meaningful out of these tests, – may be an inhouse shooting range or a “tunnel” of some length, – where climatic conditions can be kept stable and the same over time…..

Also guns need to be “benched” to eliminate any kind of error on part of the shooter……

Level of humidity in gun reservoirs need to be the same….

Air pressure needs to be tested on calibrated instruments. In the case of my rather conductive tests of AirWolf MVT .22, – I experienced that there was a difference between air pressure reported by the gun itself, the fill kit and the manometer on the bottle. (Difference ranging from 180 to 210 bars) Now, which one to trust ? And not only that, – a different AirWolf reported a different air pressure from the same set-up. The only conclusion that came out of that exercise, – what that it was impossible to come out with any sort of fair conclusion….

Chronos would have to be calibrated on a regular basis. I have yet to see two chronos showing the same results from the same very shot. (may be another fun test for you Ted, – put 5 chronos in line in front of your muzzle) and compare. You’ll be surprised…)

Etc. etc. etc…….

Probably not as entertaining, – but the only way whereby the relatively small differences can be established with any sort of credibility….

Ted’s tests are fun to watch, and indeed very well made. Scientificly correct they are not……

And this is where for instance air gun magazines fail, – or importers for that matter. How many times have you not seen “conclusive tests” from AOA or others, – where none of the above parameters have been checked up front ?

I don’t mean to be negative, – just realistic…….. 😉

Probably the only “conclusion” to be drawn would be looks, handling, how well parts have been machined, quality of blueing etc,. – but then again a lot of this would be subjective and depending on shooter’s own preferences…..
