Tactical Lelya project – FINISHED :-)
I am now happy with my R3 stock, but still think the Lelya stock is awful, it really makes your fingers ache.
So what to do, I considered another wood one but as the gun looks like a small tactical weapon it should be treated as such.
The plan is to build an Aluminium chassis and hang off it a trigger gaurd, and a couple of Weaver rails, these will hold a pistol grip and a folding foregrip which can be used vertical or horizontal, also any excess can hold a torch or laser etc. 😎 😎 😎
As its my first real “pimp” of a gun I intend to document on here as I go so you guys can see the progress and comment as needs be.
Did some searching and found the best source of suitable parts to be FAB Defense from Israel, available in England from Airsoft suppliers – now they are a strange bunch, but thats another story.
So got as many dimensions as I could and printed out some paper mock up’s to check, after trying several options I settled on a pistol grip, a fore grip and a buttstock, total cost £102, a couple of rails and some Aluminium and the total materials comes to around £130.
The buttstock with some cutting should be able to retain its cheek riser so removing the freezer burn I so hate 😀
As the pistol and fore grips are on Weaver they could be quick release type and the buttstock could be fashioned to be quick release so this could be a really cool, really small take down if wanted, maybe MKII 💡

It really belongs in the hands of someone who appreciates it, and won’t hide it away in a case, or in your instance, under one of the beds in the guest house.
It wouldn’t do to have the hired help poking about with it when no one is looking. Common swine, probably wouldn’t have the decency to wipe it down with an oily rag once they’ve finished messing about.

I was very careful in choosing my hired help, they had to pass several “trials”, one of them being the abilty to deftly apply and work in oils of various kinds.
So the tall slim 21 year old swedish student I finally settled on, she will just have learn the difference between massage oil and gun oil and which butt requires which 😯

the scope is an MTC Viper Connect, I struggled with a “normal” scope on the Lelya, the Connect has no eye relief so sits well back on the gun and essentially has no parralax as the eye has to be on the scope occular to get a sight picture

So I finally got round to finishing the new stock, made a small angled spacer to tidy up the lines between the pistol grip and the buttstock (the only part of the stock made for cosmetics and not practicallity). Alos took off some of the excess internal material to reduce weight.
Brushed all the pieces and sprayed satin black 😎
Although the stock is quite a bit longer than the original it only adds 10mm to the length of the gun and around 140g in weight, but it is much more comfortable 😆

I then found that the cheek riser that came with the buttstock would actually mount to the exisitng butt mounting screws, would have to do some fettling to the top of the riser to allow pellets to be loaded – but not sure I want to raise the cheek position any more, I may revisit this 😉

As for a cheek rest, maybe you could take the adjustable one and use the left half of it, assuming it would be rigid enough and still not be in the way of your loading.

While tis true most of us men have, at one time or another, slept with pigs, it’s uncalled for to associate with common swine, while amongst proper company!
Therefore, the Lelya, a proper lady, would require somewhat better accommodation than than we would afford a common tart from the streets.
That being said, and given a sliding breech loading mechanism where the cheek weld would be placed, perhaps it is better to simply leave it “au naturel”.
That being said…I shall withdraw at this time and watch in wonderment.

You are quite correct and foam rubber simply will not do. So I was wondering if you had any small sections of horse hide, pre soaked in seawater and massaged in Neatsfoot oil, better still a piece of the aformentioned cut from one of your now redundant foot strapped condoms (redundant since the invention of Latex).
I think a piece of this having been vigerously worked back and forth with such ferocity as to render it of a velvet texture will without doubt be preferable – I just need to conjour up a method of attachment that will live up to Ole uncle Hoots stellar standards – D 😀 😀 D

Really well done.
The original idea was to use the cheek rest and you could just load if the cheek rest was trimmed down in length
However once I shouldered the gun with the pistol and fore grips fitted it was obvious that the buttstock would be too high fitted there and that raising the cheek rest any more than the current slide would mean the need for higher mounts – didnt want to take the scope any further from the barrel
I will need to fix some kind of foam rubber to the side of the slide to remove the metal/cheek contact
So I have freehand milled a solid, industrial looking trigger guard, the point at which it is fixed to the main chassis is small so included a tab that picks up on the weaver rail mounting screw – double fixing, it is short of the pistol grip so as not to interfer with the fingers 😎

I like the look and it is much much better than the original, as you shoulder it the scope (MTC Contour with zero eye relief) comes straight to the eye with no side movement of the head, and the weight of the gun feels like it is all on the shoulder not the forearm – sweet 😎 😎

Like it a lot, just need to spray it black now, its a prototype and does have some poor finishes in places, and it does need some slight modifications to MKII, because of that I am not going to bother with the anodisers – may try that myself in the future 😯
