Q:

Tank valve problem

I let a new tuner work on my gun and also the tank valve.
I have had the gun for months and shot it just enough to sight in a night vision scope, then the gun sits in the corner.

Yesterday I decided to see how well it was tuned on the Chrony.
Well, before I could shoot 2 ten shot strings, the tank valve starts blowing all the air out after a shot.
Besides the gun having no more power etc than a stock gun, the roughness of the parts, etc, etc. That is besides the point, anyone konw what is wrong with the bottle valve? What would the “fix” be?
Walt in Ha. is making a 25cal barrel, so not would be a good time to get it repaired correctly.

What pisses me off is I spent several 100 dollars and it turns out to be a piece of shit.

To ALL-
ONLY ALLOW TUNERS WITH A LONG HISTORY OF QUALITY WORK TO TUNE YOUR GUN.

Now I am stuck, laid off and do not have the $$$ to repair the gun as it should have been tuned in the 1st place.

I wish a million times over I would have sent it to Talon Tunes or Airhog to have the work done…, but me being me, trying to help someone out, trying to help him build a name working on these guns, just starting out, giving him a chance to build a reputation…, you know…, now I am “stuck”. The gun can not shoot, I have no extra $$$ to get it repaired and no night vision gun as I needed for varmints.
All because I always try to help out the “small guy”, the underdog, someone starting out, etc.
I always seem to get screwed when I try to help out people. I always get it in the end, one way or the other.

Rant over, I did not mean to rant, it just came out, LOL!
Anyhow, can anyone help with the valve problem?

Thanks:)

We wanna know who did it!!!
Has this ‘modder’ offered to resolve the issue??
Money back??

Wayne that tophat looks too low, adj. it, and pull that stem, get out the polishing paste and rub the heck out of it, then lube it and shove it back in, try 3/32nds. or you could just call airforce and order a new valve and top hat. Jeeze, I didn’t see that yet is that a hammer?

Ok every one her are some pics of the hammer, I really hope the frame isn’t destroyed

Enough with the suspense…. who was it? ❗

I only know of 2 people other than Tony who did such work for pay… and both seem to be gone.

email sent.
I am heading to eat and will check back later tonight.
Thanks:)

we need to see the hammer as well 🙄

Rough? ROUGH???
You should see the hammer, etc.

Yes, I had work on the gun and the valve was part of it.

Help? Hurt? I don know…, I was paying someone else to work on it for their “expertise”.
If I had the know how and equipment…, I sure would not pay someone to make my gun not shoot, LOL! (seriously though:)

I bleu them up on my ‘putter and the work is ruff to say the lease, the valve stem looks like someone took some 80 grit to it and slid it back in, the housing has tool marks on it, the top hat is ruff as hell……

waynejitsu you have to tell us who did this to your rifle!

I don’t know what is done inside the tank or why, but the stem needs to be polished for sure and I don’t know about that top hat

I agree with Buzzcat, the tophat looks way low to me also. I can’t see why the radius would be a good thing either. 😕

The tophat looks way too low. Stoopid low, actually. And what’s up with the rounded off end on the breech side? Does that help or hurt?

In other words, is that a custom tophat?

Also, I gotta ask at this point because it wasn’t mentioned… was the tank refilled and retried, and if so, how did it work? Another dump?

here are the valve pics waynejitsu sent to me for posting

God only knows what has been done inside then 😯
You really need to get it out the bottle and have a look. Hopefully its just some muck in there as GTBJ says… If the workmanship is rough on the outside, it stands to reason it will be rough inside. Might need a tidy up and polish.

the valve stem will come out not the hole thing.

p/m sent with email for pics, I will post them for you when I receive them, also here is a link to a “how to” on posting pics here.

Reply To: Condors with LDC’s

If you pm your email address, I can email a pic, I am not good on technology, so posting one is out, LOL!

Are you saying the valve will just pull out?
I am missing something. If I can just pull it straight up and out, why would it not come out with 3000psi behind it?

I know…, I am missing something here.
Thanks!
