Q:

Tank valve problem

I let a new tuner work on my gun and also the tank valve.
I have had the gun for months and shot it just enough to sight in a night vision scope, then the gun sits in the corner.

Yesterday I decided to see how well it was tuned on the Chrony.
Well, before I could shoot 2 ten shot strings, the tank valve starts blowing all the air out after a shot.
Besides the gun having no more power etc than a stock gun, the roughness of the parts, etc, etc. That is besides the point, anyone konw what is wrong with the bottle valve? What would the “fix” be?
Walt in Ha. is making a 25cal barrel, so not would be a good time to get it repaired correctly.

What pisses me off is I spent several 100 dollars and it turns out to be a piece of shit.

To ALL-
ONLY ALLOW TUNERS WITH A LONG HISTORY OF QUALITY WORK TO TUNE YOUR GUN.

Now I am stuck, laid off and do not have the $$$ to repair the gun as it should have been tuned in the 1st place.

I wish a million times over I would have sent it to Talon Tunes or Airhog to have the work done…, but me being me, trying to help someone out, trying to help him build a name working on these guns, just starting out, giving him a chance to build a reputation…, you know…, now I am “stuck”. The gun can not shoot, I have no extra $$$ to get it repaired and no night vision gun as I needed for varmints.
All because I always try to help out the “small guy”, the underdog, someone starting out, etc.
I always seem to get screwed when I try to help out people. I always get it in the end, one way or the other.

Rant over, I did not mean to rant, it just came out, LOL!
Anyhow, can anyone help with the valve problem?

Thanks:)

take some pics for us too see
also pull out the stem and check for dirt or something and take some pics of that as well.

you can pull the stem out by gently working your way around it wile prying gently with a large strait slot screw driver or something to that effect.

Hi guys,

I am not at all familiar with these guns and not sure what was done to the valve.
It was full, shot a few shots, then it blew all of the air out.
It “looks” like a Talon valve and I know it was taken apart.
I do not want to take it back again, others have had very bad luck and I do not want to keep having it fixed, I just want it right the 1st time, then shoot it without having to worry about it falling apart and blowing out all my air.

Any ideas?
Any suggestions?
Is this something I can just unscrew and screw a new one in?
I have a FX tank cover on the bottle, so “have to” keep it, they are very expensive.
Thanks

Any updates?

What’s the rest of the story here? Wayne, did ya get it sorted out?

Yup, and depending on what the valve mod was or if its a new valve completely, depends on why it would leak. Homemade valves sometimes need a good shooting session to get the inlet seal properly bedded in. If he only fired a few shots then left it, its very possible that it sat and slowly leaked.

Probably… 😆

quote pablouk:

While hes gone I’m gonna guess low tank pressure caused the dump (had been sat in corner for ages)

That could be the culprit, but it would also mean the valve is leaking.

While hes gone I’m gonna guess low tank pressure caused the dump (had been sat in corner for ages)

And I agree with bluethundra, sounds like you are pissed and I’m guessing this ‘modder’ hasn’t sorted it out to your satisfaction?? If so, you should put up a name.

Also maybe give us a name so we know who to avoid.

Hi guys,
I am on my way out.
I will post here tonight or in the morning.
Thank you for your help…, so far:)

Modded valve or completely new valve??

Tell us more about what set up you have and what the tuner said he did to it.
have you contacted the person that did the work, will they stand behind it?
