At my age, I have been shit on many times. By people, babies, women, chickens, and…once in Cancun by a spider monkey named “Elvis”, who belonged to a piano player in a backwoods bar, during an argument about whether the piano player should get tipped. I advised the piano player I had already gotten fucked once when the woman I tried to rent, sight unseen, turned out to weigh 275 pounds. What a mess! she smelled like a 55 gallon drum of stale sweat scented lard. I wasn’t about to touch that pig! However, I had pre-paid and there were no refunds to Gringos! I was genuinely upset. Well, I wasn’t about to get fucked again by a 95 pound homo piano player with greasy hair! He became angry and shoved me, so I kicked him in the balls, cracked a bottle of “Dos XX” over his head, and back-slapped his damn monkey clear into the next room. I then proceeded to piss on his piano keys, and that’s when all hell broke loose! I was young…how was I to know South American Spider Monkeys traveled in packs???
By the time I made it, screaming and cursing, out to my car…my clothes were ripped to shreds, I was covered in blood from bites, claw marks, soaked in banana-mango flavored monkey shit, and one of the other drunks had set the bar on fire which burned up my new $100 leather jacket. The next day i found out a small part of my left ear lobe had been bitten off, was infected, and I had to get rabies shots before I was allowed back into the U.S.!
I thought over those events many times, thought about what lead up to the violence, how it quickly got out of control, and finally realized there was an important life’s lesson to be learned, and acted upon, from that experience! And for years after that…….I shot every spider monkey I saw!

I only liked the pest videos before he succumbed to pressure again and re-edited and chopped the good ones up (i.e. first chipmunk video – now i make my own videos). I liked knowing his hardware setups and airgun specs but always took opinions with a grain of salt and could do w/o them. A show and tell on a product we don’t yet have would be the limit of my interest.
Now ho-o-old on there. While I enjoy and respect Ted’s work/presentations, there was a dark moment. Remember the smiling face?
Remember how that Leyla, promised to our venerable, eccentric uncle, was snatched from his dreams and expectations? It was then that poor :hoot: sank into even greater depression and madness, writing treatises on testicles while muttering at his computer screen.
Meanwhile, chickens shit in his personal yard space; proof positive how a character stain can cause a real-world stain.
TO ALL : HOOT , I belive has said to every reader on the issue of Ted’s recent post has the most heart felt response for Ted , which I for one , find myself in pure
admiration of HOOT in Teds’ defense . TO all of you who can not understand the pressure that Ted tried to under take and then stood up to
the plate like a man and made an apology to everyone for not being able to fulfill the task , that not only took away from his work and earnings

It’s a complicated world we live in, and very seldom does anything get done for free. Be it fame, favor, merchandise, or money, we all have our price.
In Ted’s situation, he gets to test a lot of top end equipment, goes to national shooting matches, and visit exhibitions in Europe. Not many of us get that opportunity. He’s good at what he does, and his presentations are knowledgeable. For the use of that kind of talent, many manufacturers are willing to subsidize, in one form or another, the provider of opinions that may show their product in a favorable light. It’s not inhuman to develop a personal favorite when tinkering among top end merchandise. It was obvious, to me anyway, that Ted exhibited a liking for the FX product line. It’s not unusual to develop friendships with the makers of your favorite piece. Those friendships become common knowledge, and shortly after, the hate mail begins to show up.
There’s nothing right, wrong, or indifferent about what Ted does. It is what it is. Business. But, it’s his business, and no one is forced to watch his videos, or accept his opinions. Sadly, it is only natural for some individuals to be angered by that situation, even though they have no dog in that fight, nor are any of their sacred oxen being gored in the process.
People drift in and out of this hobby all the time. Some of them I miss…some I hope were bitten by something dangerous, with large diseased teeth.
There’s never been a void in this forum. If one expert departs, another soon arrives to take his place. That’s half the fun of being here and watching what goes on!

I like Ted. Truth be told it’s his vids that lured me to the hobby. I had no idea PCPs existed until his videos.
I’ve never shot and edited a vid, but I take everyone’s word on it that its a long process.. And he did say his website was giving him trouble (recently). Buuuut, you began to make a forum post and a couple of cry babies soured you on it? I remember the post.. It was on the yellow. Yes there were the usual suspects saying stupid shit about Ted being a company man to certain brands and that kinda shit, but there were 3x as many people sticking up for him like usual. I don’t know.. Seems to me if I put 150 hours in to something, and had so many people singing my praises and having my back when others talk shit, that I’d go ahead and post a thread to share my hard work.. Not only for myself, but the people who have my back. I guess that may sound like I’m saying if your a fan of his, your entitled to stuff.. But really I’m saying- why didnt you write the forum post? To punish the bitchers? But you also punished your pals. Maybe you just do have a thin skin.. Not that big a deal.
I like Ted and his stuff. I wouldn’t insult the guy for not delivering. I just don’t get how you can put so much work in to something and just say fuck it because of a few sniveling assholes. I believe what he says his reason is.. But that’s being a little sensitive no?
Ted not doing the video gives me more reason to buy them all and test them myself. All of them except the P-12 of course, I have enough Chinese stuff in my house.
I have a very simple solution….
Ted had the right idea when he was reviewing them one at a time…at his leisure!
There’s no need for his personal opinion as to how they ALL compare to each other. We can do that ourselves by simply watching his video’s as they come out.

I hate to see his hard work go down the memory hole.
It would be nice if he could figure out how to release it, without taking up so much of his life.
I really enjoy Ted’s videos and appreciate the work he does..
He brings a lot to the airgun community…a lot more than the dipsticks and their smart ass remarks. Just my opinion…LOL
