.177 Veles (SN 0008) and .22 Lelya (SN 0059) arrived today and I have to echo what others are already saying:

Veles:
Super quiet with Mod, sounds like a 2240 without (I also have a NC mod I had made 8 FREAKING MONTHS AGO when it was rumored these would be arriving in Jan a without mods. It makes the gun silent. Almost like its broken.)
Trigger needs a lot of work
Fit and finish is supurb
Early 15 yd groups, with a 4 moa dot, were ragged holes.
Easy to shoot offhand
Not sure I like or need the safety, but it’s there

Lelya:
Light weight, shorter than my shorty
interesting but good ergonomics
excellent fit and finish
not loud, but not quiet
Trigger needs work
Early 15 yd groups with a bug buster scope are pellet on pellet with 18.1gr

What is not loud? Comparison if any? Can I shoot it in the back yard?
Overall, both should be excellent guns once the triggers are tuned. I think the Veles, in particular, is going to be awesome. I look forward to playing with them further tomorrow.

quote Pippo:

Well I don’t know the Ocelot but the Veles without the moderator sounds like a .22 LR pistol.

The problem is that with the moderator it gets almost as long as the Lelya and if you consider that at this point anyway you need to shoot it two handed and that most probably you will mount also an optic I don’t see the point in not directly eventually getting a Lelya.

:2cents:

Pippo my friend, that statement is full of DOO DOO AKA garbage.

I have the .22 Veles sitting right here and I tried it with and without the LDC. With the LDC it’s the quietest PCP I own or ever heard. Without the LDC it sounds like a loud clap and nothing like a .22 pb as you claim.

NOW! I would like to know what the Veles should be shooting because I’m getting 550 fps with 14gr JSB. Anyone else?

My Veles did not come with open sights, is this correct?

one more day for me… the longest part of this journey seems to be the last week.

w1lp…..
time too put you on the hot seat.
If you could have 1 bullpup, which one would it be, which one do you the like best & why. 🙄

Received .25 Lelya last week. Well packed and shipped without incident. Thanks Tony!

I made a couple of minor tweaks to get her shooting to my satisfaction.

I’ve reduced the hammer spring tension a bit. It’s getting 20 ish shots per fill (200 bar to 110 bar indicated).

Don’t know muzzle velocity yet. Need to get an optical chrony going, the Magnetospeed unit I normally use doesn’t mount to the offset moderator.

At 50 yards it’s grouping well with 3/4″ groups off of a bench using a Trijicon dot sight.

She’s easy to shoot. From a standing position the groups open up a bit, but not as much as I would expect given my level of skill with rifles.

Just got my lelya .177 too. very nice. shoot Jsb 8.44 at 880fps and 10.34 at 830 fps and it’s quiet. also got deposit check back.

Wow that looks nice! Who removed the pictures of the Veles groups?

Keep this post on topic.

That’s a BEAUTY, Charlie. Please let us know how accurate she is!!

UPS just dropped off my Leyla! Double boxed, and packed beautifully, and even smaller than I expected! Now to look in the safe to see if I’ve got a scope around here that I can put on it!

I guess the name “mutant” really fits? 😛

Dude………. Brah……… Dude….. That’s what all Limeys were bitching about this summer. Those ain’t CZ barrels, maybe they got HW’s shitty seconds

Get ahold of the dude I told you about oak cuz!

Edit: Or better yet just order a S-200 barrel and have a good machinists fit it!

http://www.airgunspares.com/store/product/11317/Air-Arms-S200-Barrel-.22/ exactly what the manufacturer should have done in the first place……

Very nice. I plan on picking up an Ocelot as they get wrung out a bit more but they seem very good so far. :biggrinn:

Coda,

Comparing the Ocelot .22 to the Veles short .177 is kinda like comparing apples and oranges although they are both 12 fpe. I haven’t shot either of them enough to pick one over the other. I like them both. If your into powder burners the Ocelot feels like a T/C Contender and the Veles feel like a S&W 41.

Here’s a pic of my .177 Baby Cricket next to the other baby bullpups. The Lelya is the smallest and lightest.
