Q:

The Standard 30 Cal Matador Has Arrived!

I congratulate Tony plus others on the packing job. Thank you Ed for creating an incredible airgun. My first impression is it’s so tiny and light – nearly a Standard Cricket for a 30 cal monster. Here are the first photos including the unpacking. It still says .22. ๐Ÿ˜€ Now the fun begins;.

I will check. I have decided to do two full tins before measuring anything seriously. I chrony’d the gun at 871 fps and 75 fpe right away and I will do a full string at 300 pellets. I am nearly through one full tin of 150 (and having a heck of a lot of fun). I agree that these are hunting/pesting guns. Powerful, light weight, moderate shot count, yet very accurate. For plinking a lot of shots and target shooting all day long the .22 makes a lot more sense. The .25 kind of fills the niche in between the .22 and .30. Big enough for moderate game hunting but still capable of enough shots for plinking. I get 47 shots on regulator with my .25 Matador from 220 bar down. I want the regulator exercised enough before I attempt a full string. ๐Ÿ˜€

I think Ed said about 30 for the Std and 40 for the Long. At this power level a sparrow normally goes down on 4-5 hits tops. ๐Ÿ˜†

Thats is better ๐Ÿ˜‰ Iยดm curious how many shots from one fill you will get…

I found different info… http://nzairgun.com/forum/index.php?topic=774.0
I think Ed is mentioned about 15 shots from std before regulator is opening… and next 5 shots = 20 ??? +- ๐Ÿ˜‰

Iยดm curious for total shot count. Because twenty shots from 280cc air tube from 220bar to 140 bar is not a lot… but gun has different purpose it is not for target shooting ๐Ÿ˜€

I never try to convince the girls 2″ is 3″. ๐Ÿ˜†

I had the two side-by side and I think it was 3″.

Is the tape measure made in America?

Roughly 32″ on the .30 std vs 30″ on the .25 std or 50mm/2 inches longer which is what I think Ed said it should be.

Man, 40 yards is for 16 Joule springers. Try that .30 at 100 yards and up. I want to see the results at long range.

Mine sure shoots great out to 40 yards. I see one report where they are getting flyers but thankfully I have not noticed that at all with the JSB 44.75s. I am actually impressed with the accuracy but I need to stretch it out a bit as it gets a lot more pellets through it. The beauty of the new shroud design is we can pop a new baffle system on with the one hex nut that has very easy access with the pull off cover. I can also test it with the shroud off if need be. I’ll wait for OGs report. It doesn’t concern me much since it is easy to fix if it is a problem.

Get it fixed. ANY clipping WILL affect the accuracy. Even ever so slight.

OG is checking his. He thinks it could just be the new barrel. Mine shoots well so I’ll put a lot more pellets through it and see.

UPDATED. Well, my 30 cal is doing some minor pellet clipping or the rough barrel is doing it. The very front hole at top dead center is getting some marks and some chips are showing up at the front. It is so slight that it isn’t affecting accuracy noticeably. I will put a lot more pellets through it and see if it clears up.

You need a bar straw and a mirror for that powder and then hang on. Were you surprised at the size and weight of the box? How long did it take from when it shipped?

Well, you finally got it so Congratulations are in order. I received an suspect package from USA today … Thanks for that. What is that white powder in that little Ziplock bag for ? Baking soda ?
I hope your (and UGIMJยดs) packages make it before Xmas.
Well – congratulations again. Itยดs a nice looking Rifle !

Yeah, the OPMOD case was HEAVY ! No wonder though since it has some seriously thick padding around it = great protection. Unfortunately the smaller bag – that was meant for my Cricket – is a smidgeon too small, hightwise.
It came today so … when did you send it ? About a week ago or so if memory serves me right.

My wife baked a cake and used that baking powder for that. I havenยดt tasted that cake yet but she did and now sheยดs rolling on the floor speaking tongues. That looks fun so iยดll need to taste a piece too ! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
