The Standard 30 Cal Matador Has Arrived!
I congratulate Tony plus others on the packing job. Thank you Ed for creating an incredible airgun. My first impression is it’s so tiny and light – nearly a Standard Cricket for a 30 cal monster. Here are the first photos including the unpacking. It still says .22. 😀 Now the fun begins;.

He does that to get them out the door in Estonia I believe. Ed can explain. The power FAC restrictions they have. It’s tough to detune a .25 to meet the requirements much less a .30.

I don’t understand why it says 5,5 (.22). It doesn’t make sense….why not strip it off and say nothing? I would think due to legalities it couldn’t misrepresent the product. I’m not bitching or anything….I just don’t get it.
A few more pictures… It hard to tell in the photos but the new stock is definitely a notch up in finish than the old one although they are physically identical except for the bolt. You can kind of see the shimmer but sunlight would really help. New logo on the receiver. So far the gun has been perfect in every regard. Not even a smudge. As I mentioned the probe now holds two o-rings that I would imagine handle the additional pressure. The barrel lead is longer and the pellet drops in a ways.

Yes – orienting them doesn’t seem to be a part of their assembly process. 🙂 I will get the scope mounted this evening and then start on the trigger. I may throw in there one chrony shot just to see where it is at. The LEDs on my Gamma work well at night.
Same with Cricket–> at time they forget to center the gauge face vertically, rotate and center before filling.

I scoped the barrel (not mounted the scope yet lol) and then ran a swab down the barrel and it was clean as a whistle. I shot 5 shots out the back and compared it to my .25 Standard Matador alternating a few shots. By your ear the 30 cal hammer noise is definitely a bit louder than the .25. Down range it is noticeably quieter than the .25. Back to work for a bit…. It is definitely neighborhood friendly noise wise IMO. Power wise is quite another story if you live in tight quarters. My personal opinion is that anything around 50 fpe or higher is really too much for a typical 1/4 acre kind of lot and smaller calibers are better then.

As he said it just pulls off and is held in place with some heavy duty orings.
Thanks I just noticed my main gun pose is fuzzy. I will post some clear pictures. The finish has a nice shimmer – more than my Standard .25 Matador.

It is a different design and wouldn’t fit other Edguns.
It is a slip fit held in place by O-rings.

I remember reading a while ago, Ed was asked the same question and he replied that anything above a 22 is labled a 22 to ease the exportation of the rifles.
