The Standard 30 Cal Matador Has Arrived!
I congratulate Tony plus others on the packing job. Thank you Ed for creating an incredible airgun. My first impression is it’s so tiny and light – nearly a Standard Cricket for a 30 cal monster. Here are the first photos including the unpacking. It still says .22. π Now the fun begins;.

Well, you finally got it so Congratulations are in order. I received an suspect package from USA today … Thanks for that. What is that white powder in that little Ziplock bag for ? Baking soda ?
I hope your (and UGIMJΒ΄s) packages make it before Xmas.
Well – congratulations again. ItΒ΄s a nice looking Rifle !
Update: I finished sighting it in and have shot 15 shots starting at 180 Bar where it was. I would say from 220 bar down to “off the reg” will easily hit 30 shots and more. How accurate those all may be will be another question. With no break in to speak of with the 44.75 JSBs off of the Deadpod I am getting under 1/2″ groups first off at 33 yards and the trigger is set at roughly 2.5 lbs which I will adjust down to about 1 lb. So far it’s really a beauty… The lack of report out the front is amazing… Great job on the new shroud Ed! It may be a bit quieter than my .22 Std Cricket and quite a bit quieter than the Std Matador .25.
Next – First Blood πΏ The sparrows are out in force today in the sun. This thing will be hard on targets – basically like 22 LR subsonics.
One thing I did notice was an increase in ricochets and a few sounded really nasty. Like a .22 LR.
I think Ed said about 30 for the Std and 40 for the Long. At this power level a sparrow normally goes down on 4-5 hits tops. π
Thats is better π IΒ΄m curious how many shots from one fill you will get…
Half of it is I shattered the glass on my last GN II and they just gave me a brand new phone but I need to change some camera settings or it only takes decent pictures in bright light. I got the new phone three days ago for no charge and then it got the 4.3 Android update last night. π― Insurance is good…
I just added the Side wheel, Scope level, and pointer and shot two shots. It is 6″ left and 4″ low at 33 yards. I will sight it in on work breaks but it will only take a few shots. π I need to run it in Chairgun first to see where to sight it at. It really smacks hard out there. It may be a feeder killer. π―
Chairgun says 42 yards is optimal. BTW – My one shot Chrony test was 870 fps so 75 fpe with the JSB 44.75 gr. That’s pretty much max power for the Standard with the shorter barrel. The sparrows were looking concerned. π
Congratulation to your new toy π but better photos next time π π
Congrats Coda. Awesome looking rig.
Well without a scope it shot great. π I didn’t think the bolt pull is any different than my .25 so very smooth and not hard. It has a noticeable kick to it and a sense of power. The pellets were slamming home hard out there. π― The trigger feels amazingly closer than the my .25 did new to how I like it but it will be tomorrow before I start working on it. π No idea on velocity yet. Its amazingly quiet for a 30 cal.
It colder than crap here but luckily I have a 20 yard rest and range in the walk-out basement and two high-power rifle capable bullet traps. (I’ve shot them with the 22-250 many times outside). π
Don’t mean to rush, but.
HOW DOES IT SHOOT!!! π
Conga-rats SE, nice rifle.
Look at the size of that bolt probe. π―

Ok I just finished the scope mounting process. It was much shorter than normal because everything matches my .25 Matador with the same scope. My Galaxy Note II automatically uploads the pictures to Photobucket as they are taken (so the cops can’t nab the pictures) but they aren’t too good w/o additional light at night. The Wheeler scope leveling kit is great.
Need to add the Vortex level, BC scope covers, 4″ wheel, and the wheel pointer and it is all set. Trigger work is next.
Ok….I guess that’s a SOLID reason. Keep ’em coming!
I like the looks of that big Moderator
When you look at the breech and the big hole in the barrel it is a bit hard to buy in on though. Hopefully, they don’t open a box on shipping.
What Secoda said.
That is the Standard (Short one). I am just not a long bullpup kind of guy. π I am secure in the length of my other things. π
Mine still in transits & will delivery on 12-16-2013, waiting is killing me when
You guys already had it,

You need a bar straw and a mirror for that powder and then hang on. Were you surprised at the size and weight of the box? How long did it take from when it shipped?
I hope your (and UGIMJΒ΄s) packages make it before Xmas.
