The Wiley Thief and Liar , Strike II
Received my GG&G ( what does that stand for anyway – Gay, Gay & Gayer ?? ) knock-off today from GreenBase. The first thing that strikes me is the weight,or the lack thereoff. The second being there´s no free-play of any kind- on any of the connections/joints, which is a good thing. The third is the Chinese still haven´t learn to use any Loctite.
I need to test it in the heat of the battle against targets and plinkers but it´s definitely worth its measly price 35$ any day.

I have the three 8-32×56 scopes all set on 24x for the SR Pro reticle which gives me about 5/10 yards between each minor/major increment. It works out perfectly. I have the Tactical 6.5-20x42s all set on 20x with the 1/2 MD reticles. There is a a “light” difference with the larger 56mm objective but really the main difference I enjoy are the SR Pro reticles over the 1/2 MD. Once you get used to the SR Pro (and it takes a while to get used to), its tough to go back to the old mil dots. The windage marks are phenomenal on the Christmas tree type reticles. 5 and 10 mph markings at any range. No cheat sheet is needed if you know your sight-in range with the ballistic trajectory markings. They are perfect for these airguns out to about 100 yards at 24x. You can turn the mag down for more range. If I had my dithers I would trade for all SR Pros. They are of course in the Hawke Chairgun Pro software.
I also have the latest Panorama 4-12 on my P-Rod with the 10x 1/2 mil dot glass etched reticle and it is as clear as the other sidewinders and bright. Some of the older Panoramas were pretty bad I have heard from others. I often caution folks not to buy used Sidewinders because the older models are often being traded because they are not up to the latest optics.
I see you have Hawkes big scopes in 20x and 32 X do you have any reason to like or really utilize the 32x better than the 20x, I got 2 – 20x’s and need a third one but torn between getting the same and having them be common or trying one of the 32x’s. I got their 4×16 too and it is dark and cloudy in comparison to the 20x’s I have so I thought it was worth asking. What do you think.

IDK… I got in bad terms with the Swedish importer since that MF had his pricing near 500$ at the time. I then ordered one of these GB clones – just for the Protest – and found them to be very functional for the price. The rest is History anyone can find in the original thread ….
I´m still 110% convinced over one thing – no, make it three things : One – the clone is very good value for the money. Two – the original is ridiculously overpriced. Three – MachineGun is an Idiot. Some idiots i like, some idiots i can live with and some idiots should be shot. MG happens to fall between the latterv two – my Jury is still out for the final word …
