Tired of the GAMO gimmick
Why the hell is GAMO getting all the HYPE on Premium hunting channels and magazine adds? Velocity….Velocity……Velocity and that’s it. Sorry for seeming to HATE GAMO but i think i do. I have shot a couple of em and they SUCKED (accuracy wise) and i have also shot that crappy BALLISTIC ALLOY (gold plated crap) ammo they have and it sucked even more. Could not hit anything with them, and they don’t expand. And gamo is not even close to a GREAT AIRGUN.
Gamo advertisers push nothing but VELOCITY, VELOCITY, VELOCITY and say or show NOTHING about accuracy. Velocity is what powder burners give you. If you want all out velocity……GET A POWDER BURNER. I very rarely see anyone and i mean anyone posting about GAMO ACCURACY. So if it does exist…..GAMO OWNERS….please post some REAL groups.
Its amazing to me that even good hunting shows and host (jim scouten) with years of hunting experience seem to forget that velocity is nothing without accuracy. Gamo is their sponsor and that is why they push there product. All the host ever say is….GAMO EXTREME .22……1600 FPS. Then at the end of the commercial he says “the gun weighs 12 lbs and has a 60 ft lb cocking force”. WOW, and that sounds GOOD!
Sorry (not really) for venting but i was enjoying the shooting show i was watching until…they started pushing the GAMO GIMMICK.

Dont give up on springers too quickly though!
With practice and the right gun/ammo one can do PCP like groups with springers… here are a few groups I’ve posted in the past… all with springers…
If you know how to shoot them and can figure out what pellet they like, springers can be the CATS ASS
I have a big cat and I can shoot okay with it after alot of practice. Now that I have ny first Air Force rifle, I would bet my last dollar that gamo has made the last bit of chump change off of me 😆

Unclebob, that really sucks that they sent you the wrong gun back after you sent yours in for repairs. WOW!!! Thats a mistake that should not happen. I just ordered a Birth Certificate from Texas and they sent me someone elses…..WOW, how did that happen?

Tofazfou, I had a Gamo Sporter model in .177. Put a large scope on it (eyes are going) had over 7000 rounds through it (Iwas keeping count)
Out to 25 yards I could hit empty .223 brass so easy. I liked that gun alot . Then one day when shooting it would not cock. So I sent it in for repair to Gamo. Thay sent me back a delta model airgun, NOT MINE.NO letter or anything. SO YOU CAN KEEP YOUR GAMO CRAP! GAMO.

I was out at a duck club shooting my ss. ( funny, yes I go to a duck club to shoot airguns)
My friend came back in from a morning hunt. We were talking and I asked him what shotgun shells he recommended and why.
He said these, and handed me a box. I said why these? He pointed at the box and showed me that they went 1550 feet per second (or 1500 I forget)
Then I bated him with this question, sure that is what they say, how do you know? I’ll bet they don’t shoot that fast from your gun…
I set up the chrony and let him fire a few shots over it. 12xx, 13xx, 12xx, low 14xx, 11xx (they were all over the place, and never hit the 1500 mark). His eyes opened, then I asked, if he that maybe the large swings in velocity could make the difference between a hit and a miss sometimes?
You can’t save the world, last I checked he still uses them, because velocity sells, or is it what they see in print that helps them to convince themselves, that this is the best stuff because…

Gamo has a history of faking and staging things just to get your dollar.
Yeah, I’ve seen adults buying and shooting this junk, 1200-1600 fps, yeah! Clueless.
OK OK, i must apologize. I forgot about the CFX, i have actually heard nothing but good things about that one and i somehow forgot, its a GAMO. Hell, i wanted one at one point…he he.
Guess the whole velocity (1200 fps-1600 fps +) thing just gets to me cause i always here about GAMO and its amazing RIMFIRE VELOCITIES. 1600 + fps. And to the NOVICE, they bite into it everytime and get mad when the gun is not performing as they expected.
And yes i know….VELOCITY SELLS. I see it all the time with the new CENTERFIRE HIGH POWERED RIFLE cartridges. Everything is 3000 fps or faster and in a smaller, fatter cartridge. I got shit one time cause a guy asked me what rifle i had and what cartridge it was in. I said a REMY and its in .308 winchester. He said the cartridge was outdated and underpowered and that i needed something like the .325 wssm (180 gr at 3060 fps). WHY THEY HELL DO I NEED THAT AND I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. What could i possibly kill out here with that cartridge that the .308 cant?
But, what else would i expect.
I have a crosmen storm that shoots pretty well but after i shoot it awhile it gets all over the place I don’t know how it goes from a good gun to a bad gun in one shootin session.
Yes the group is constant, but remember this cfx is one of a thousand, I dont recomand gamo, if you want a decent springer see RWS 54 or Air Arms TX. But the price of a good springer is the same of a AF tss or a condor.
Oh, like a nickel then, thats a good group does it stay good, after you shoot awhile like 40 shots later?

I personally like my cfx. Never handled any other gamo’s, so don’t know about those. Mine is, like you said, accurate enough. MOS accuracy (minute of squirrel). It’s a lot better than my remington genesis, which while it’s a much more comfortable gun to hold, I can’t hit anything with it.
One thing I can say is good about gamo, is their warranty. I think it’s changing/has changed, but when I got it they had a lifetime warranty. After about 3 years, the mainspring broke. I packed it up, sent it and a note saying what was wrong to gamo. A few weeks later, they sent me a brand new cfx. I thought that was pretty darn good. Like I said, I think it’s changed, but if not then that’s a plus.
