To lube or NOT to lube
Here are my results of dry and lubed pellets….
JSB Match Diablo Exact Jumbo Heavy 18+gr .22 cal.
I lubed them with Break-Free then rolled them
back and forth in a paper towel folded in half to
take off the excess….
I have seen discussions about it but I never did
a comparison….My rifle likes lube….Yours’ might
not…..
This is a 65yd target…..All of these shots were
from one fill…I did not refill before shooting the
lubed pellets….

Good idea…I was puttin oil on the foam in the pellet tin and then adding pellets and rolling them in there…I think I like the zip lock better…

You may wanna try some other lubes to test out with your rig…
Krytech
Compressor Oil
FP-10
The key thing with lube is less is more…better that is…if say ya got a tin of pellets to lube, I take a plastic sandwhich bag, put at most 5 drops of FP-10 or other lube in it, rub the bag between my hands so a light film is covering the whole inside of the bag, then dump the pellets in their and gently roll it around, you only want the lube on the outside edges of the pellet and definitely not inside the skirts…
I typically do this AFTER weighing and sorting them by 1/10 grain…

I do have some Hornady ONE SHOT with dyna Glide…
It is a Gun cleaner & dry lube..Cleans and dry lubricates
in one shot. Excellent cleaning solvent with no oily mess…
Ordorless after application….ooops…Says NOTE: Not
recommended for use on certain types of plastics…
Test a small area before using….Whaddaya think?
.Might give it a go and see what happens….
Nice work by the way. AKULA
If I start using KY and it does’nt work, I am screwed. kiyuk kiyuk kiyuk 😆
Mamcrackin; Have you tried KY jelly? WD-40 has thousands of uses but KY only one. You could put KY on the map with the DYI and airgunning crowd.
Nice work by the way. AKULA
Grasshopper… 😆
I guess I just trusted him from the get go… 😕 He has posted so many groups his printer is probably out of ink at this point… 😉
I print my targets at work… 😈
I just use a big fat sharpie…..
I see below the groups your bulls?
The group on the left is below the bull and the group on
the right is above the bull….To me that shows that the
unlubed group had less FPS at the target…But that’s just me…..
I get ideas. I try them out. I publish my findings and let
each individual formulate thier own sumation of what is presented……..
The is nothing wrong with questioning the results…
I welcome any and all interpretations of the experiments…..
If you have an idea that would be more accurate or a better
way of doing it, I am wide open to suggestions….. 😯

Hey, I’m not lacking in any trust of Mam, and I’m not doubting him or his shooting, and IMHO, no one else should either… I just prefer the reality of a bullseye and rings. Call it a weakness. 😉
Thats what it looks like to me.
I was thinking the top dots were the aim points and the lubed pellets made the POI shift up… 😕 😆

I lube. KryTech works great 8)

After another look, are those two dots I see below the groups your bulls?
Ya’otta use some real targets instead of using a hunk of cardboard and then circling where things hit. The groups are different of course, but I can’t tell what you were aiming at in the first place.
Just sayin’…. 😉
I hear ya Buzzcat..The purpose was not to hit the bullseye althought that would have been impressive….I had the cross hairs on the same spot on every shot……You’ll just have to trust me on that one….

by shooters as well, taking a cloth or paper towel, applying Pledge Furniture Wax, Krytech, etc. and rolling the pellets…just takes more time!
