Q:

ugh- a big project

i was thinking about making some mods to the condor body, and was wondering about a ballpark figure on cost. basically it’d be a new body, w/some changes:
-id really like to use an FX airtube, 145cc, to replace the factory tank
-lower the scope rail a bit, change it from a dovetail to a M1913 rail (weaver, picatinny)
-have a m16 grip mounting area (i have no idea what to call it- the area an m16/ar15 grip mounts to) integral to the body
-a small section of M1913 rail on the underside of the body to mount a good bipod
-integral shroud- like anthony’s shroud, but integral to the body…
-side cocking

is this a crazy idea, and am i just wasting time dreaming up this mucho-expensive sounding dream condor, or is this idea possible? thoughts please!!! and the condor would have to be .25 cal. or does anyone have thoughts on how to make this dream gun come true?

thanks for all the support though guys, knifemaker, fastfreddy and walkonking. buzzkill, youre right, theyre poor here- cant afford education where im at let alone a recreational airgun. and they dont shoot their AK’s whenever- just when we’re around! or so it seems. and yes, when not on missions, i am that bored, its not like i can go to a steakhouse on payday weekend over here…

thanks to anyone who can help- the condor’s a good platform, but i think it can be improved upon, in the looks/function department more so than whats already available.

I’ll bet you’re working on it, Jihadi.

I don’t know who you are, but if you’re in Afghanistan, I’m sure as hell am not going to tell you how to build a gun. Ask your local US Army Ranger patrol, they’ll be happy to help.

Anybody here that gives this guy advice is asking for a visit from the Black Kevlar Brigade. Don’t supply info to some anonymous poster who’s in a war zone.

Come back and ask when the war is over.

IF I COULD SWEAR ON THIS FORUM, SIR, I WOULD. IVE SERVED THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR 11 YEARS IN THE ARMY AND CURRENTLY IN THE MARINE CORPS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. IM NOT AN ANONYMOUS POSTER, IVE POSTED ON THIS FORUM BEFORE, BUT AS IM IN FRIGGIN AFGHANISTAN, THE FILTERS ON WORK STATIONS DONT LET ME GO ON FORUMS. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING YOUR TRUE PARTIOTISM SIR. IM SO PROUD TO BE PROTECTING PEOPLE SUCH AS YOURSELF THAT CARE SO MUCH ABOUT OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN.

Well, his speach pattern isn’t that of a sand land native.( Damed, all this political corectness is starting to piss me off!) And even if it was, it would be great if all the bad guys would trade in their AK’s for AF’s! 😉

Sounds like a soldier to me.
Hell, most sand uuh native’s, eer, people wouldn’t even know what a friggin machine shop is. 😆

Mike

What part of VA was his IP ?

EDIT

Or were you refering to the quantico address being the one from VA?

If he is on the wrong side it gives me a great idea for an insurgent bait pile now I have a list of parts to put in the pile 🙂 just kidding yall if he’s a soldier or good guy I hope he sees that I like to kid around.

The parts you want “Integral” would preclude the use of a factory Condor frame.

You would have to build it from scratch.

Oykas? ?

Damn, didn’t think of that…

I’m still trying to figure out what the hell those parts are… 😕

with you guys now… Oykas? or his cuzin?

A bit over the top I’d say?! Are there not Afganni civilians that are US friendly? I would venture he is from that side.

I don’t claim to be an expert on Afghanistan, but from what I’ve seen, there ain’t a whole bunch of people there these days who have a pot to piss in, let alone the time and money for recreational air gun shooting, let alone again having the means or notion to build an air gun from scratch.

Hell, they all walk around with AKs and shoot ’em whenever they feel like it!

And if he’s US Mil or Contractor, I doubt he’s got the time or is bored enough.

Your call… I for one ain’t offering anything.

His last post was from California

One post was from the UK

Another from Virginia

And another from gate23-quantico.nmci.usmc.mil

So chance are he is OK 😉

Sounds like a great project if you start from scratch. I see no point to using a Condor as a base when you need to remake everything pretty much.
Good luck
BTW what machines do you have access to?
