what caliber would suit me best?
hey guys, i am from the uk and am asking you what calibre would be best for me.
i have an fac lisence and .177 ammo is alot cheaper than .22
i will be pureley hunting out to long ranges so i was thinking about a .177 for the flat trajectory but i’ve heard that it uses alot of air.
howmany shots could i expect shooting .177 at 22 ft/lbs and a .22 at 35 ft/lbs

I’ve stopped trying to decide what calibre to get. Im going to get any (.177 or .22) and when I get towards the higher energy levels im gunna buy a 24″ barrel blank

That seems cheap enough, I have my own machines so I know exactly whats going on.
The stealth has a 12″ barrel right? Could 30 FPE be easily achieved through this barrel length with reasonable shots eg. 30-40?

BSA blanks are around 50-60 quid, that’s If you can get hold of one. Don’t go skimping on the machinist to the work for you. It may seem cheaper but the amount of hastle In the long run won’t be worth It!
I’ve been looking for a frame for a while Pabs. I’ve built up that many spare parts In under a year i should have enough to build another 2 complete rifles 😆
Are the storm and stealth frames the same? You could always buy the stealth and then upgrade the barrel as and when a bigger one comes around. In fact there’s one on ebay right now. I’ve heard that the storm barrels are pritty crap too but not having tried one out I can’t say for sure.
Yeah i know, maybe it would be better to buy a gunpower stealth which seems more popular. Then buy a BSA barrel blank 24″ for good power and air efficiency
Howmuch would a BSA 24″ .22 barel blank cost?

What I plan on doing in the long run is to buy the CO2 adapter, take the valve out and put it into the HPA tank

Buy a bigger bored 1 piece stem to use as all the gunpower stems have the splines at the bottom. The valve spring Is fine. Some replace with a weaker spring but TBH I don’t think there’s much wrong with the stock one. Just flatten the edges so It sits flat against the valve seal and spring retainer. It’s easy enough to see when you have the valve infront of you. One restrictor you can just take out and the spring retainer needs boreing out and a round curvature drilling on the bottom.
The O ring mod Is a great mod too. Shooting at high power you can get lots of waisted air shooting up the outside of the stem.
Have you checked stealth resource for more diagrams etc?

Thats okay, gun safety is nothing to skip over. I have been sooting all my life and have used many powder burners over the years. I even had a chance to shoot a .308 Sako trg 42 and what a rifle. The muzzle break made the muzzle blast flip up my scope covers on another rifle about 3 yards away

Shoot safe Dude. These rifles can be jacked up to silly power. The real world difference between 12 fpe and 50 fpe is huge.
If you are an experienced shooter, I’ll stop teaching you to suck eggs now…. 😆

The valve stem on the newest gunpowers have cut outs down the shaft which means you cannot bore out the stem. The bushing set screws( grub nuts) are rounded out so you cant change barrels or mess with the spring/spacers.
