what do you consider accurate?
for airguns that is
when people say this pellet or that one isnt accurate
what do you mean
to me accurate is hitting 1.5-2 inchs at 50 yds
i hunt and my guns are used for hunting
if i was a benchrest gun ill grab my .22 lr and get single holes at 50
but i like the airguns for hunting and if i can hit max 2 inch at 50 im happy
at 100 id say prolly 3to3-1/4 inches
im only gonna shoot at a crow or pidgeon at that range
its hit or mis basically

The thing about airguns (and AF guns especially) is the accuracy factor. Kinda like having a custom set of golf clubs or a high dollar mountain bike. You know the equipment will deliver if used properly, so any lack of performance is strictly the fault of the user.
/ Don’t have any custom golf clubs, but I do have a tweaked out 10 year old mountain bike that was top of the line in its day, and it’s still a corker. 😆

Here’s a picture of three 212gr slugs in a pellet tin lid.
And just to stay on track, the last two 5 shot groups shot with them at 43 yards. Power was at 264 FPE.

Well, that’s a .32 slug so the range is higher. The lightest slug that gun will shoot is a 72gr and the heaviest is 212gr.
94gr?… I think my roofing hammer weighs less than that…Wow…
Thanks Mam. It was a touch breezy that day and the Bishops are pretty light slugs (94gr) but I was thrilled with that result.

The shot to the left I pulled pure and simple. The shot high and right felt perfect, must have been the flyer in the group…
The .25s do fine too:

Ive read that the 25 is notoriously inaccurate , generaly speaking. in comparsion with the .22
Not sure why that is , but it might need a great deal more power than we have, to come on par with .22
That’s a Little loose for me CP. A max of 2″ at 50 is at least 4″ at 100 yd. That’s 3 out of 4 shots missing at 100 on a tree rats noggin!
I’m having a bit of trouble with the SS. It will put 5 pellets into well under 1/2″, many times one hole at 50 yards. But the .25 for some reason is much more hold touchy. May be the longer bbl. giving the recoil of the hammer more time to effect the pellet. Don’t know. Right now, slightly over 2″ at 100 is the best I can get. But I have managed several groups with the .22 right at one inch. The .25 does do much better in the typical wind here than the .22 though.

I try not to obsess over group size with airguns but if you must, I wont accept a pellet that misses a quarter at 50 yards. Most of my shooting is pure plinking with the occasional starling or squirrel as a bonus.
Targets are generally golf-ball sized, and I haven’t missed any that was the guns fault in over a year.
I tend to play golf with my airgun a lot with plastic golf balls by knocking the ball across my yard and trying to bump the ball into another.
Par is 5 shots to reach 50 yards, starting at 20. If you can knock the target ball into another within 5 shots, thats a birdie. Its a lot of fun and will increase your skill in the field. The neighbors even like to come over and try once in a while. I let them use the 410 to keep them interested LOL.

You never should settle for “good enough”, except for critter hunting.
At some particular point when it comes to “pure zero”, it ain’t the gun, it’s you.

My .25 gives good groups, but seems to always want to throw in a flyer. Way out of the group. Like 1 inch at 5o yards out. With the other 4 either touching or 1 large hole. 😕
I never have weighed or sorted pellet. I tried it yesturday, and shot a 50 yard group being very careful. Bi-pod, shoulder rested, standing. 3/8″ at 50 yards. But this is the exception. It is usually more like a half inch ctc.
