What is it with the UK?
I gather there are no MV limits in the USA. In Japan, where I do most of my shooting and a whole bunch of skirmishing, no limits. Iceland, nada. Most of europe, couldn’t give a toss.
Heeere’s ENGLAND! Skirmishing, 325fps (barely enough to get the bloody ball spinning). Air-rifles, 12ft/lb. Adults treated like effing children. 👿

A little spirited discusssion of current events is OK. That’s what this thread was and I have enjoyed reading it.
Chad has a good point. I’m sure he and Vlady would get along just fine. I think we have a tight knit group of people here that would rival any other AG Forum. We all know that when it comes to brass tacks any of us will do whatever it takes to help another TAF member. 8)

This really could go forever. For my part, I think I need to take a dose of my own medicine and remember that we’re all, mostly, friends here. Vlady, I have a feeling you and I would get along famously, in person. Maybe ruin a few good beers and a squirrel’s day along the way. I don’t take thisl stuff personally, because I KNOW that somebody’s gonna disagree with something I have to say. That’s cool, and expected. I do think we need to pick up the tenor of the conversation just a touch, and not end up making enemies out of people we’ve likely just met. I don’t need friends, but I damn sure don’t need enemies. There’s been too much good info on this forum shared freely across the pond and across state lines for me to wanna see barriers put up just because I have strong political opinions. With that said, I’m done with this thread, just out of an abundance of caution.

This is a post that could go on forever ! . Having been to the States i wouldnt say it would be my nivarna ….too many fat blokes wheeling their ventilators / air cylinders into the elevators and cutting the load capacity down for me !
But England is home , its not perfect ….but not bad either ..( just like your home town where ever that is is for you ) ….and i have alot to be proud of being English from the formation of modern law , abolish slavery , fighting the Nazis single handed for years , to the FREE jet engine Whittle gave to the world ! ( maybe the most influential invention of all time ! and did i say it was FREE , NO patent…. any American invention given out for free ??? ). At the same time alot to be not so proud of , but if your going to run three quarters of the world theres bound to be something not politicly correct going on !.
As far as gun law … the shooting comunity has always been small here namely country boy famers and land owners. With no Constitution here, we fall back on democracy ! and that comes down to events of the day and the goverment in power . I personlay have no idea why i would need a mini gatling gun to protect my house because its my right !, nor the need for a assault rifle but i would say gun law here has gone far enough.

I stand corrected. Although, the Civil War was 100% about Slavery, just not in a direct fashion (South wanted to keep Slavery etc, and were willing to break away in order to try and protect that ability). The Emancipation Proclamation was really only brought about as a means to try and destabilise the South rather than really being about the Slaves and their Rights to be Free Men, and I think that if there hadn’t have been a Civil War the Freedom of Slaves in America would have dragged on much longer, as it did for Chinese Immigrants well into the beginning of the 20th Century.
