Try this but that’s getting bigger with 34mm tube. But its bright. Great for night hunts

The Steiner T5Xi 5-24×56 is 50 yd min parallax. At 5x there’s no way you can get it parallax free closer than 30 yds I’m guessing (if that). Plus it’s 33 oz. 56mm objective would mean you’ll need high rings to clear the rail and/or barrel. It’s also had tracking issues that’s still yet to be resolved. Kinda hard to swallow for a $2K plus scope.

For airgun use, you can still get away with a FFP scope with a 50 yd min parallax. You just have to get one with a low mag range of ~3x. The reticle would be small but the image would be clear and usable. I know because I have a Bushnell LRHS 3-12×44. Specs says 50 yd min parallax but I can get both reticle and image parallax free at 17 yds using 3x. It’s also 24.4 oz and compact at 13.4″. Again, I don’t know if slapping on the Steiner at 16.6″ and 33oz and 56mm objective is a good idea on a 26″ bullpup.

Steiner is nice, German quality. There are far better though in ie IOR or S&B line though. Pricey shit …

You want FFP ? SF ? Haven’t actually looked those SWFA’s that close so give me the specs you want ( and have in it ) and i’ll ( try ) to find a good match faaaar under 3 K.

That said – i want one of those SWFA’s. Why ? Since very few and far between has them here. 😉
I have to agree what Mr Cricket pointed out earlier though : The mil- mil is far more understandable, easier, manlier – and sexier for us with measurements for modern days. Feets, hands, inches and all that – it really belongs in the past.

For my Vulcan I am going with a Athlon Optics Talos BTR 4-14X44 FFP.

I find that I prefer the FFP scopes. Unfortunately, it is on backorder so I won’t get the scope for 5 weeks or so. :sadn:

Matthew

I have one of these on order too.

I did pick up the Midas BTR 4.5-27×50 SFP scope. I haven’t had the chance to use it aside from just fiddling with it but it’s pretty good for the money. The reticle is pretty nice for AG use as well.

I would really like to know how the Athlon HD glass compares to the SWFA SS HD 5-20×50. That’s the one pictured below correct? I know it might not be fair to compare a SFP to a FFP scope but weight wise, it’s 10oz lighter. There’s also a huge price difference as well. I’ve been wary of “made in China” scopes but was pleasantly surprise with Athlon.

3 K ?? Far from it. You get more compact, much lighter scopes with at least the same optical quality for under 1000 USD.

With the exact same features or close?

Hello, how do you find the weight of this scope? I am looking at a similar weight scope and was thinking maybe it is a bit heavy for a bullpup? Actually, looking at the specs it does not seem too bad, what do you think?

It’s a bit too heavy for my liking but you have to spend 3k on somehow smaller and lighter than this. So it’s a money thing.

I also love this reticle but it is moa based and so are the turrets, don’t want that

How come the SWFA 5-20 is not available as a SFP? The 5-15 is. In all honesty a SFP swfa 5-20 calibrated (true mildot) at 20x would be the perfect scope for me. Mil/mil, great reticle, lower weight than FFP (i think) and perfect magnification range.

SWFA PLEASE MAKE THE 5-20 AVAILABLE AS A SFP SCOPE!

Can you guys imagine the holdover capabilities of a 20x milquad at 10x power… 😯

I would be all over that shit    sfp SWFA 5-20

The MTC Connect is a great little scope – like it was made for Bullpups.
For normal eyesight there’s no problem to get the eyepiece adjusted for clear view.

Another light and compact scope with great Jap optics would be the Clearidge smallest version but unfortunately it’s only 3-9 x.
Clearidge is made by the same folks who make Delta : Light Optical Works in Japan.

Cricket, I had a MTC Connect that IMHO was a great little and light scope for the Vulcan. Unfortunately I couldn’t get it to focus to my eye. It had the SCB reticle and was very light and compact. I sure wish it had worked though.

I will report my findings as soon as I get the chance to mount it up and do some tracking testing, optical clarity, and FFP operations at varying ranges.

Sagittarius i haven’t tested. I have tested the Sentinel, both Marksman and both Paragons. Also their two of their red dot sights , i don’t remember the name now. All good performers .
