wife shot dog
this weekend was interesting , we were down at my grandpa’s camp (17 acres on the river) and shooting. well my cousin needed some help so I left my wife there shooting. An hour later I got back and she was setting on the deck with the dog and waving for me to come over, I thought OH SHIT..( Just for a little more info my dog likes to chase the pellets and usually stands by the target when shooting) Well, my wife shot our dog. She was shooting at about seventy yards with the scope on high zoom and the dog ran across the yard right as she pulled the trigger. The pellet hit the ankle bone of the back right leg. Luckly I had the gun turned way down . I had my condor shooting RWS super domes .22 at 850 fps. The pellet flattened out completely to almost a half inch and wedged between her joint in her ankle bone. I had to cut open the hole and grab the pellet and pull it out, which took awhile. My dog is very well trained and didn’t move at all while I was doing it. She was a trooper. After that I bandaged it up and she was out like five minutes later like it never happened…It was a pretty close call and she could of killed the dog quite easily or if I was shooting heavy pellets could of shattered the dogs ankle …My wife felt really bad for it. PS..Now she’s a little gun shy..I don’t think she’ll be chasing any pellets anytime soon.

Some how, it has become the mind set the the best way to protect our children and society as a whole is through ignorance. The operative word in ignorance is to Ignore, and it will not effect you. It’s just one more slippery slope where we as a nation are slipping into the abyss.

I ignore all my pellets and air going away too quickly. A couple trophy yellow jackets were had at ten yards for their efforts. 😀 I shot my springer the whole vacation, my wife and kids hogged the good guns, as i tried to keep them filled. Great fun. 😀

😉 Well thanks Walkonking!! I’m sure he thinks I’m sexy too! LOL. Ed really likes this site . I’m glad he found a place to come and talk about guns. I agree. Even as kids, we knew where the guns were and we knew they were loaded. There was no ‘mystery’ to them. We knew if we wanted to shoot, ask mom or dad and we could shoot. Nowadays, kids are so shielded from guns that when they DO find one, there is some kind of mystique to it and they feel like they need to play with it.
We were never taught guns were ‘bad’ like kids are nowadays.

Eds wife again! Until I met ed I never liked guns. I guess you could say I was scared of them. Especially if they were loud. After meeting ed he taught me alot about his guns and now I’m not afraid of them. I enjoy shooting with him. It’s something to do together. Plus it’s something he enjoys and I like to share that with him. I’m sure he would like me to shoot more then I do, but I do enjoy it. As for his 9mm, I have pretty much taken that over too. LOL, Still need to practice more on that to get it right. But I’ll keep at it. Thanks for encouraging me to keep shooting. I just don’t want to hurt anything else. I need to keep both eyes open and focus more on what’s around my target. I’ll keep those in mind. Hope you all have a great day!!

Years ago I was shooting my bow in my back yard, I had a full size deer cardboard target in front of a couple of hay bales..I shot 2-3 arrows into the kill zone, the last arrow I had I shot and it hit the deers foot..well, while walking to retrieve my arrows I noticed the “foot” shot arrow was moving..?? 😯 I looked behind the target and there lay one of our cats that had crawled in behind my target with a arrow in its leg 😆 , my parents took the cat with the bone hanging out to the vet and he said..dont worry about it, she will lick it back in in place..and that she did.. 😆 in a few months you couldnt tell anything had ever been wrong.
