I am the one that brought up the Tau 7 in .22 so why are you babbling about that? I owned a Tau7 and would buy one again.

my point dear WOK is that in my use of my own LD, other than being a .22 I found no real advantage over CO2 10 Meter guns
frankly stick a hangy tank on a Tau 7 Sillohette in .22 you have a far better gun than the LD for field use
and no 40 year old pot metal castings either
funny given how few of the LD conversions there are compared to production guns there always seems to be one or more on Brads or the Yellow
to me that speaks volumes
seems more than a few folks get one, try it out and come to the realization that its simply not their cup of tea
really don’t matter all that much when youare running 500 odd FPS whether you are spitting .177 or .22
it becomes purely about whether you can place the projectile

Further from what I see posted maybe less than half the LDs out there see any kind of field work, heck any real work at all
Had a beautiful early one with the Venom shroud & hangy tanks I nailed for a song off Brads some time back, all of Tim’s bells & whistles
Try as I might I was never very comfortable with it and it really felt kinda chessy in my hands…too much pot metal castings
as far as what is capable or not at 50 yards with a 10 meter gun I should point out that there are pleanty of folks using 300S rifles at that range that are moving their pellets at about the same velocity and seem to do quite well with them due to their surgical precision
basically the LD is moving a slightly heavier pellet at a slightly slower speed which means at 50 yards it will still be moving slower than the .177
as far as the M2 not being capable at 50 yards…it certainly is when fed a diet of air and moving pellets at mid 700 FPS range
shot count goes to hell, only pull like 30 odd shots on HPA at full power
Thinking on tinkering up this P30, seeing how much FPS I can press out of it. Decent sized pressure flask after all

That MA pistol is nice but it does not get 200+ shots and the trigger is not as nice not and the valve is not as consistent as the LD.
I have built many custom 2240 pistols so I am very familiar with them and their modifications.
If the price of the LD is a thorn in your ass then go to a flea market and buy find a Crosman MKI for $50 and for a about $250 you can have it turned into an LD shooting carts.
You can moan and groan all you want about the LD but that does not change it is a tack driving super consistent championship winning air pistol.
Your FWB need to stick to paper punching at 10m because at 50 yards they will not cut it when it comes time to take a head shot.

Have a Tau 7 Silhouette in .22 thats going to be the basis of a future project…some jackass drilled thru the frame in an attempt to increase the transfer port size. It’s been welded up, just need a little milling done then an electroless Nickle bath
like the Tau’s ok but dislike the stupid cocking cycle, the limitations imposed by the grip borne CO2 and probably worst, the flip up breech. more impressed with the action of the old FEG GPM. Have one of those that will be getting a 14″ LW barrel shortly and converted to HPA

Yeah you have brought up the Tau a few times in the past well before you invoked it in this thread, usually in a manner that made it seem 2nd rate to the LD
the LDs frequency as a resale item isn’t an argument, just fact and yes everything does drop on the web but there seems to be a decent number of LDs in that mix which seems a bit odd when you look at the low numbers out there
seen a few Yellow forum folks make similar observations about Condors but that one doesn’t hold much air given the timespan of production as well as numbers produced
really I don’t care what folks shoot, what they choose to drive, how they dress or where they live, much less what they consensually do to each other behind closed doors.

knew an old bastard years ago that was into Stevens .22 bolt actions
he would spend hundreds of dollars having them rebarreled, restocked, reblued but in the end no matter how well they shot they remained a Stevens. See the LD in the same light of day after having owned one.
I do have an affinity for FWB but they certainly are far from the ultimate, particularly in the dated hardware I accumulate. I see the 10 meter hardware as being serious bargains given their cost when sold new and the inflation index.
Tons of incredible current production guns out there but out of my price bracket
with even more interesting items in the future
