Q:

Would love to see some longish range Cricket .25 groups

The Edguns have numerous threads with a bunch of nice groups, but after multiple thorough internet/youtube searches I was able to only come up with a measly handful of Cricket .25 groups :(. Keeping in mind the recent popularity explosion of the Crickets last year I find it odd that there is not a abundance of group pictures floating around, especially highlighting upon the .25’s apparent prowess for longer range shooting. Those that I have found are either a very grainy, 1-year old video in Russian that does not specify the distance or even worse a demonstration only shooting the dang 50 ftlb, 25 cal, $1800 bullpup at 20 friggin yards . The other scenario would be a new owner posting up pics of groups within the first 100 or so shots out of the gun, while that is great I don’t think it actually is a good representation of what a broken-in gun could do. Anyways it sure would be nice to see some of you proud Cricket owners show off these nice little bullpup’s accuracy :biggrinn:. As a side note I understand that most of the world does not experience as “fair” of winters as we do here in Cali, so if the bitter cold is keeping y’all from shooting farther than your basment ranges I completely understand….

I have a .25 Cricket and have shot 1/2 inch or better 5 shot groups at 50 yards. The only thing I don’t care for is the quality of wood they put on a $1900 rifle. If I get another Cricket it will be with the synthetic stock as the wood isn’t worth the extra bones. They need to step it up and have Minelli make their stocks instead of using repurposed Chernobyl wood fashioned by survivors.

Exactly Knife

as much as it takes to get the darn pic’s on here,Why would they be fake

Exactly what i though and thinking of Cricket,,,,,

as i mentioned i have a plan to buy a Cricket,,,, but i did some researches for the best accuracy as well,,,,but i couldn’t find any one that can make me happy,,,, i know Cricket has a good accuracy,,,, as per the owner posts not pics of the targets,,,,

I would like to see some of the best performance of Cricket ,,,, who can help us in this matter????? and post some tight groups out of 50 / 70 / 80 mtrs …. ????

Why not ask Snipergay ?? Disregard his hate directed towards EdGun and ask him to show you pics of his groups. He´s such poser i´m sure he´ll be happy to. If you ask nicely he may even let you watch him shooting on one of his Video´s – with the melodramatic soundtrack and all. Just make sure he has his clothes on.
You are probably the only one here who can communicate with the “Man” since his Kwenglish (Kuwait – English) doesn´t make great sense to the rest of us and we can´t speak Arabic (well, maybe Hoot: can) while you do.

Ville,,,,

i just asked SQ to post some of his performance ,,,, and waiting for his reply ,,,

First off, I thank you Guy’s for posting these groups. I for one don’t think ALL groups are faked. Why in hell would they be? Somebody getting paid per shot? What would the point be?

I don;t want to see groups to see the shooting prowess of the shooter. I want to know what particular guns are capable of. I could care less as to who is better than who.
But I no longer have the kind of funds I use to have, and before I spend serrious money, I for one would like to have at least a clue as to what the different models are capable of .

I can only assume that the .30’s in anything but the smooth twist bbl.’s are shooting sub-par. There is absolutly NOTHING out there other than the FX guns in .30 showing long range groups. A real let down so far. 🙁

Once again, Thank You! 😀

Okay while I agree with you guys about taking online groups with a grain of salt I have a caveat: when looking to buy a new gun apart from actually handling/shooting the gun yourself pictures/vids of groups online are about the only way to get I idea of how the gun will shoot. For this reason groups shot offhand or semi rested typically do not interest me because any error could be contributed to the shooter instead of the gun. In a perfect world if you really wanted to show the accuracy of a certain gun a two piece rest/vise would be the best route, but then again we don’t live in a perfect world . So far we’ve seen ironcross’s very nice group and Count Ville’s 12 shot wonder both would pass my high end pcp accuracy standard (sub 1/2″ at 50 yards), but still only two examples when just the U.S. dealer of Crickets stated he sold over 200 bugs thus far ….. c’mon quarter-bore Cricketeers post up lol…

Cheers

Hey Hey !! a guy from the south that can do this w/o a parka…

when i get my 30 back together i will post some groups myself, before the valve stem let go i was getting some pretty tight groups at 25 yrds at 850 fps but when i turned up the reg some to get it 885 fps it let go on the chrony bench while i was adjusting hammer for a close spread,so hopefully next week i will be able to post on this thread my groups after i have it tuned.

I am guilty of not getting any long range 30 Ed groups yet myself. The one weekend I was loaded and over to the factory to shoot at my little 75 indoor, the snow and ice had drifted in front of the doors on that side of the bldg.and I said to hell with it. I am starting to guess they are poor as well but will prove it to myself in time. Mine is tore apart duplicating some of the regulator parts to use in my 25 Ed long cast bullet shooter project. That being said all of my groups look like just one hole irregardless of wind rain caliber or anything, they are all perfect, it is the glory of the internet. :winkn: With that being said, Wholly Toledo… I cannot wait for it to warm up enough to drag the shooting bench outside and then we can shoot and post all the crappy groups you want to see.

True!
Mine shoots very well and i have the exact opposite experience regarding the EG/Cricket. I really don´t care about the MS but since it is there what´s a poor boy to do … except put on a SS tray fom Imppu .

I couldn’t mine to shot past 65yds. Did everything I knew what to do, even sent it off to E.Rowe to get tuned. No difference. Sold it. Went back to Edgun long .25. No use having multi shot if it doesn’t shoot.

That´s the kind of rollin´i can relate to. Fast and efficient !

I roll the entire tin (closed 😆 ) and then go shoot some sparrows. I only sort them for group shooting.

Man – i don´t even know how to roll those pellets. Or i can roll them around on the table , no problem , but i wouldn´t know what to look after :biggrinn: . I take the airgunning much less seriously than many guys here do . For me it´s just plain fun and i like tinkering with them almost as much as i enjoy shooting them. I quess i´d go bonkers with speed variations, pellet head diameter, pellet weight, wind direction, humidity, temp and whatnot if i went on that path. My span of interrested is as long as the memory of a Gold Fish and i´m afraid all that science involved would suck the fun out of this.
My hat´s off for all those who do like the science part of it since without those guys i quess we´d all still be plinking Beer cans at 16.3 yards with our age-old Haenel´s, Gamo´s or whatever brand rusty springers with triggers that have a creep as long and dry as the summer of 1957. :fishinghole:

the last tins i bought have damage also,

you should try rolling some pellets just to shoot a few groups, it does make a difference.

except that group of triple 3 up there don’t think anything would of helped that group 🙂

but if you see two or three little clusters forming , even very close together, sorting will help.like three 1/4″ groups very close together,

i noticed this when shooting jsb, i would get 1/4″ , then pellets would impact slightly differant, then back in the same group. then in a third litlle group, all this in 1/2″ , but still differant impact points,,

so i rolled the jsb pellets i was shooting , and they went into three piles ,

when shooting for a group i only used the pellets from one batch, and the groups shrank, and i ended up with my tightest group.
