Q:

Condor SS availability

May 2 I placed a pre-order for a red Condor SS .22 from one of the popular online airgun retailers. Originally the estimated in-stock date was May 13 (a little more than a week from my order date, seemed reasonable), but the estimated in-stock date has been pushed back multiple times now and is already more than 2 weeks late with still 3 more weeks until their newest date listed. AF told me they are shipping guns to the retailer weekly, but the retailer told me shipments have been delayed because of AF waiting on barrels from LW.

Has anyone received a Condor SS in .22 cal? How about red? Getting sick of getting almost daily spam from the retailer advertising other items and begging for reviews of the other items I ordered, which I can’t even use yet because the gun has been delayed for so long. All this spam but no updates on my late pre-order. I guess I just want to know, is everyone with a recent order in this same position? Is this business as usual from AF? The retailer is reliable because I’ve received lots of other items from them, but it’s like an information blackout when it comes to shipment date of pre-orders.

Call Arizona Airguns. They have a few in stock. I just cancelled my order with pyramydair and placed it with them, and got a ship date tomorrow.

That is a long wait…

Notice any difference with regulator? With the One Piece Top Hat from Tony I get many more shots not full power but lighter ammo in .22 caliber.

condor ss with altaros reg

I am one of the few lucky folks who got their gun early but I did wait like many of you. Just ask rld1965 we spoke daily about the gun and the shipping schedule changes. It’s been a few months now and I am extremely happy with this gun. I have had plenty of time to play with it, modify it and test it. I have had the entire gun apart a few times. Last night I took the trigger system out only to find that this gun (2013 model Condor not SS version) unlike it’s predecessors will not fire without the safety arm in the gun. The long short I removed the safety to try to get a brass custom breech to work. No go the hammer wouldn’t fire without the safety which appears to stabilize the trigger system. The entire gun is of a fairly simple design and simple technology. Which makes it beautiful to work on and upgrade. All the AF Condors are animals. IMO the Breech is a piece-O-junk and the hammer is nothing but a cheap piece of pipe with some plastic on the ends and a hammer weight to try and beef it up. Again in my opinion a one piece system would be far better in all Air Forces Airguns. Air Force could address the hammer slap noise easily but then again with the hammer they are currently using I’d rather just pay Tony at TT and get a nice heavy brass hammer with the mod built in.

“Question for folks that have taken the CondorSS apart. The new safety system that AF is using. Is that the reason the breech notch is cut all asymmetric off to one side. When I think of precision parts. I didn’t expect it to look crappy. I guess function beats out form once again. Lol”

Yeah from what I have seen when apart it has to do with the safety mechanism.

Ok! I took apart my air rifle because of my shear lack of will power in not leaving things in one piece. curiosity is a bitch.
1- Remove the set screw that locks the spin loc in place. Remove spin loc.
2- Unscrew breech knob off the breech. don’t lose the little cover for the breech knob.
3- now you can slide out the breech through the back end.

I got my Condor SS yesterday.
There is no spacer.
I couldn’t replace hammer from breech side.

thanks. I cancelled my order from AOA that said condor ss will be in stock in one and half months. I ordered from RL and got a call from them. My order will be delivered tomorrow. 🙂

After my incident with PA. A few members recommended a few alternatives. I settled on R&L since I liked the feedback I had read about them. I decided to place an order for an SS and just que up in line once again. I expected a delivery in the distant future since a forum member posted there was a delay of barrels in the AF parts pipeline. Well the local UPS man just dropped off a double boxed black box for me. Major props to the R&L folks. They got some sway to get these hard to obtain air guns. I expect to do business with R&L again. Soon as they get those AF barrels in stock.

I called AOA and I was told they don’t have condor ss in stock and don’t know when they will have.

I have ordered a condor ss from AoA June 14, but I’ve not heard anything from them. I don’t know if it’s normal. I’ll call them tomorrow.
I also ordered a regulator from Ondrej Plachy, and I got it today. Nice piece. I cannot wait to put it on.

Nice choice ! Your going to love the gun . Very powerfull and accurate. The wokbutt butt plate is a nice mod to replace your stock butt plate . Level 4 on power wheel works fine with me on my gun !

PA .25

Where did you order your condor SS ? Also what caliber ?
