Cricket Carbine-PIC HEAVY-1/9/14Updated groups

I entered a contest Steve was promoting from WWAG. I was 2nd out of 3 contestants…nice odds! Anyhow he gave the option of getting a gift cert for the retail value of the prize. In my case I had won a Webley Raider, I took the gift cert and put that towards a Cricket Carbine. Steve included some nice schwag as well…thanks!

From everything I heard they are great for one or two shot testing. Strings not so much. Too much checking and then writing, etc. Also, the adapter is somewhat gun specific so a bit of a hassle with many different gun barrel shapes and sizes. It will beat pulling the tripod/Gamma out every time to check a few shots though. I would say it complements a true recording Chrony. Other vendors make Combro like chronys that do have a separate computer and records shots but they are expensive.

Coda – youΒ΄re right on most points but:
A – ItΒ΄s very fast to re-align it for different barrels. VERY fast.
B – If needed you can buy a computer interface cable and connectors and connect it to a laptop. The Combro website has a downloadable program for it = strings Ahoy !

No problem for me? I use the pencil and paper method anyway? I like to write the results on the back of the target.

Ya, I got bit hard with the airgun bug too, don’t even want to add up the $$ and I still actually need a few things, I spent a wad on guns and am still using a guppy tank with a Joe B valve conversion.. πŸ˜€ Funny thing is the wife still thinks it’s cheap compared to past hobbies. I am liking the air guns for several reasons, I can tune and test at home in the garage. I can shoot outside at home 100 yards, I can shoot indoors at the plant 5 minutes away but have to lug everything there, still nice when it is cold. I can hunt and pest hunt with my gear, Great forum and people here. It is not a simple game, it takes knowledge, skill, patience, and a few bucks to get set up and maintained. Thats all for now I gotta go find a deal on another tank.

Man, I could probably buy a brand new Honda Fit for what you have tied up in your arsenal????? LOL
It’s great to have all this knowledge at my disposal from all of you guys! Thanks!

When my Combro gets here, I’ll try two for one….see if I can blow the combro off the end of the barrel and hit the F-1 with one shot πŸ˜‰

Lol! Where did you order the combro from? Any US dealers?

I ordered it on Ebay, and it’s coming out of Canada

It’s a shame Best Fitting UK tanks aren’t approved by US standards , which BTW is total BS – we Europeans don’t have any lesser requirements regarding the safety. Quite the opposite. BF sells nice Composite tanks for really good price on both the item and shipping too.

Yes, I ran about 12 patches through the barrel. Didn’t seem that bad to me? I’m new to shooting period. Never hunted much more than a few rabbits and squirrels as a kid, and have never hunted as an adult. So, it’s a learning experience for me to get my marksmanship up to par.
Just bought an el cheapo Gamo for $50 back the end of September on a whim and got the bug. And here I am 3 to 4 months later buying a darn $1500 pellet rifle? Isn’t that crazy? I’ve got over $4000 tied up in pellet rifles,Hand pump, Shoebox, SCBA tank w/fill hose assy, and 5 pellet rifles and scopes? Heck it’s more that $4000, but I don’t even want to think about it!!!!LOL
Looking back, I have no regrets for the joy it brings me, but dang it…I gotta slow down.
Crap, I forgot about the hundreds of dollars of pellets, F-1 Chorny which I shot BTW, Caldwell Matrix rifle rest, gun cases, targets, etc etc etc

Yeah I hear ya…it’s definitely not cheap. All I know is out of all the hobbies I’ve visited I’ve come back to airguns repetitively…this go around has been going strong since June of 2013…and I don’t see it letting up anytime soon πŸ™‚
