The Wiley Thief and Liar , Strike II
Received my GG&G ( what does that stand for anyway – Gay, Gay & Gayer ?? ) knock-off today from GreenBase. The first thing that strikes me is the weight,or the lack thereoff. The second being there´s no free-play of any kind- on any of the connections/joints, which is a good thing. The third is the Chinese still haven´t learn to use any Loctite.
I need to test it in the heat of the battle against targets and plinkers but it´s definitely worth its measly price 35$ any day.

I use a Velcro strap to secure the BPs. I always shoot from inside through a crack in a slider. 😀 It’s too nipply outside to go out right now.
Yeah, benches are the best. The land here is all steep slopes and the only safe shooting lane is downhill. Add thick, loose loam to that and it’s bench nightmare.
What’s a good, portable bench? It can be kinda large/long and heavy. Thinking of bringing the AGs to work when my dick won’t freeze off, and taking advantage of flat, clear ground (a vineyard road).
I am seeing some difference in how various AGs take to the Deadpod’s rubber prongs. The FX Royale tightened up a lot after I padded the front with an old glove. Still, pretty messed up, desperate shooting today.
Taking room temperature guns, out into the subfreezing is asking for trouble. The first shots are fine…then poi shifts, then scope drifts, lube on the regs. must be getting sticky, cuz the slower the follow-up, the worse the groups (R3M & Royale) 😕 Arg! Still, better than a springer at 40 yds. Freezing rain tonight and tomorrow, followed by zero degrees Mon. night.
There is great joy knowing the squirrels are suffering. 😎 (Except the Flying Squirrels moving into the warm attic.) fucking rodents…
The Deadpod’s don’t replace a bipod and a steady shooting bench for group shooting but I use my Deadpod every day for close range pesting. 🙂

Ya 3 real McCoys for $900, that is accurate If I had the need to buy all 3 matching Atlas bipods for $300.00 each. Which I don’t I’ll order 1 more cheapie and some day when I am drunk I get 1 real deal to see what it is all about to live like lifestyles of the rich and famous.
Those cheapies actually work very well and i have serious doubts an original , bought in a drunken haze while chasing that particular lifestyle , works any better.
The older I get, the more I dislike laying on the ground; reminds me how soon I’ll be under it. Which reminds me:

Yeah, it may be getting repetitive, but I’m having excellent results with the Caldwell MAGNUM Deadshot Fieldpod. It’s way too friggin’ cold to shoot, but when it was a balmy 38, the .25 R3M was putting 5-8 shots into one hole, centered at 30 yds. Plus, it can be used standing or sitting, no bench, no laying on the frozen or muddy ground. Costs about $168, (Cheaper than Dirt).

Just when you think a thread gone bad is gonna fall into the thread archives. The big mama jama Hooter steps in pumps life back into it. I stopped to get the other two matching rails this afternoon so I’m gonna drill all my stocks this weekend for bipod mounts. Maybe I’ll get foxy feeling and either buy one more matching green Base bipod for $34.00 cause I’m OCD about things matching, or get three real McCoys for $900.00, I’ll have to think that one through a little first………………………ok done, ” Family guy ” know’s what the answer is, simple decision from here.
