Edgun Review update
Hey fellers, just a little more info specific to the currently available magazines (.25 in my case). I received them in aluminum not plastic, today, and 3 will fit under the rail but not 4. See the attached photo as demonstrated with my gun (Dec. production). I’m pleased to report that receipt took less than 4 days post order from Tony R. Remaining Availability???
Now with 750 pellets down the pipe, I will note that the regulator has settled in nicely. Seems to be consistent through several full strings and typically an ES of 25 or under for 60 to 80 shots contingent of the velocity selected (long version). This is discounting an occasional velocity spike which can be attributed to pellet or continued break in. Couldn’t be more pleased with efficiency and shot count as this was the primary reason I purchased the long, despite the extra expenditure. That, and I just like having a long tube. 😉

why are you thinking it is winding down?
What makes you believe this?
IMHO the best has still to come, you know “My friend told me” 😀
Let me clarify and requalify my statement, as your most humble follower of animated banter…I meant, as the pertinent and informative aspects, of this thread, are winding down. It’s not my M.O. to answer a question with a question, but I must ask, what do you define as “the best to come”…I got bored midway through the last page with the direction this is heading…never been one much for politics and propaganda.
Dearest Uncle Hoot :hoot: ,
I think you could be lucky there…..
As for pricing I don’ know, my old uncle was considering his very very old Ford as new, actually better than new and when selling it he was trying to price it accordingly.
You know his vehicle was one of the first series, in this context here we would call it Gen-1.
But the man who bought it got a “perfectly new very very old” vehicle with a little discount 😀

Hi huntjunky,

Dearest Uncle Hoot :hoot: ,
yes you are absolutely right, I speak too much 😀 and I understand from your post that as least for you 😀 there was no need, you got it all 😀 (but honestly I knew this already).
Unfortunately sometimes there is people that need some additional help but I see this as my contribution to the community.
Well I accept stupidity, you know not everybody has been “gifted” the same way and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
What I accept a bit less is arrogance. Stupidity can’t be cured, if brain material is missing then it’s missing, on the other hand arrogance can be cured with some kind of education (ok if you receive some).
What I absolutely can’t stand is the mix of “Arrogance and Stupidity”, with arrogance prevailing because if you are even too stupid to not to understand that you are too arrogant well then a little help is needed, again I consider this as my contribution to the community.
Then there is the category of those not being stupid but being intentionally arrogant, well I guess you know already how I consider them 😀
All the very best.
Well, well, well, as this thread is winding down, hasn’t it been entertaining. I’ll jump back in here, after perusing through all the jocularity, distention, and valid as well as invalid opinion, and point out the original intent of my post. This was to offer current, first hand and fact based information referring to this well built, well supported and inexpensive piece of equipment. Whoops, got carried away, strike the inexpensive part. At the risk of playing the “suck up”… thank you Hoot, for your articulate and pointed renderings, to Darryl for keeping things on track with valuable queries and honest responses, Wingman for bearing the weight of the supreme moderator , and last but not least the “Ed man” for your great attitude and the volunteered initiative and the courage it takes, to participate, manufacture and support your product, in this world of liability and accountability. For those not mentioned thank you and KMFA :9:, I’ll let you figure out who is who.
Being a noobe and perhaps coming from a more objective perspective, thereof, Hoot sited it best: the value of this forum is demonstrated by current, pertinent, fact based info and personal vendettas slathered with unsubstantiated opinion is wasting a lot of our mutual time, especially those of us who are here to learn what many of you already know. My validation comes strictly from being one of the most current owner’s of the most current rendition, of the Edgun Matador. I only offer what I know as fact, through testing and observation, and will back up all I report, with the necessary proof. I feel these offerings will always support the positive evolution, of this product, which is a direct result of a manufacturer, who takes pride in his design. Dated rhetoric about the way it was, along with who said what, is argumentative and should be construed as irrelevant. This will ultimately leave room for positive input, resulting in further improvement and support.
I’ll jump off my “soap box”, now, and offer one other thing I forgot to note. My recently received .25 long did not include an accuracy test card, with receipt of my gun. Perhaps this is no longer standard w/ purchase. Anyone else note this?
My own personal Leyla was taken from me in the dark of night, under mysterious circumstances, after the 2014 gunshow, I hold no ill feelings. ..but the pain remains. She was promised to me by Ed himself! The last I saw of her was in a picture of Ted holding her in his hot sweaty hands…then she disappeared into Russia, never to be seen again.
Maybe because you asked Ed for a “Leyla”, he obviously got confused, thought you didn’t want a “Lelya” but instead a custom Leyla that wasn’t ready for production. Ed was disappointed that he made the wrong gun for you; a Lelya and he sold it to someone else. :3:
Pimpo…you talk too much!
Let us address my personal tragic story…
My own personal Leyla was taken from me in the dark of night, under mysterious circumstances, after the 2014 gunshow, I hold no ill feelings. ..but the pain remains. She was promised to me by Ed himself! The last I saw of her was in a picture of Ted holding her in his hot sweaty hands…then she disappeared into Russia, never to be seen again.
I came to the conclusion she was taken by “White Slavery” operatives, and has long since been disassembled and sold for parts.
I only have one question…is it true that the .25 Leyla has 30 FPE? Is it really possible? If so, I shall throw my feeble and elderly body under the next bus!!! Sadly, even then I’m screwed as there are no busses that come by here. I tried to slash my wrists yesterday, but the battery in my Norelco shaver was dead! I even tried to donate my body to science but they insisted I had to die first! I can’t catch a break!
Ed, do you ever have “Factory Blemished” or “Refurbished Leylas”, or an “Edguns For The Elderly” program? Can I send Tony $25 a month for 4.666 years?
The doctor told me “You could drop dead at any time!”, even though that was in 1965, I still believe that danger exists! I know his warning is true because he dropped dead himself in 1985!!!
Oh well…I also want a 25 year old exotic dancer to tuck me into bed each night too. Fat chance!
Hoot:
PS: I know what you are all thinking…Ed would never give in to such whining! Well, you are wrong! Ed once told me that if I committed suicide because I couldn’t get an Edgun, he would have Tony come to my funeral and slip an envelope into my casket, with a certificate that would entitle ME to a FREE Edgun! And you guys see him as a cold hearted businessman! HA! I say….HA!….
even the ignore list won’t help Ed to get around this time.
ahhh now it all makes sense. I think this post has said it all. It’s personal.
If I may say, dissent is dissent, and I have no problem with it. Words are important as the primary means by which we communicate. I have my opinion about the difference between dissent and being a heckler/spammer. Disagreeing is one thing. impugning someone’s reputation and motives is not dissent. It’s closer to verbal assault. I see a difference. That’s me. Statements attacking a product is one thing (founded or unfounded), but attacking an individual’s motives is a different matter. Where does one draw the line? Mean what you say, and say what you mean. To each his own.
Darryl
Keyser soze,
even the ignore list won’t help Ed to get around this time.
Hi Wingman,
thank you for your neutral intervention and sorry to have overlooked your post at first.
Please let me first finish with ED and then I will come back to you.
ATB
Pippo I will never put you on the ignore list, dissent is what makes any forum fun. You mentioned the HW100 and I was not happy with mine. I hated the anti-tamper feature, the shot count was low and the adjustability was lacking for my needs. My favorite gun is the Edgun. I just finish shooting sparrows and I had no malfunctions. I like that the gun grinds when I push a pellet in, it lets me know when the magazine is empty.
Dear ED,
progress is very welcome but to progress you have to improve something but if your guns having been improved, where is the progress?
My friend told me?
Let’s forget about me (the basher and attacker) for a second and let us look to this gentleman’s experience:
For the sake of experiment i got me the (new) breech. And yes, it feels much easier to cycle the magazine. When i first got my R3M short i fell in love with the matador for its looks and accuracy, but frustrated with the roughness of its pellet cycling. Hence, bought 2 R3 .22 and .177.
With the new breech, i am proud to have owned the three.
Well the post of this gentleman (who is very happy with one of the post Gen-1 RM3’s) proves several things:
1) There are out there R3Ms that don’t work properly “but frustrated with the roughness of its pellet cycling.”
Fact: You the attacked victim denies this
Fact: There is people out there not happy with their R3Ms and they have all reasons not be be happy (but you continue to deny…)
2) He got a new breech (he never replied to my question if he bought it for arount 350 USD and this would probably be normal for some of you) or if he received it as a replacement. Concerning the assumption/truth about replacement breeches sent to customers in order to replace malfunctioning breeches at this point, if you really want to do it, probably we can investigate it further, basing investigation on e-mails and/or shipping documents. Please let me know 😀
Fact: You deny that there have been replacement breeches sent to customers
I want to ask you again straight and clear in front of your warmly supporting “platea”: “ED, have there been replacement breeches sent to customers in order to replace malfunctioning R3M Gen-1 breeches?”
3) The “new breech feels much easier to cycle the magazine” and “With the new breech, i am proud to have owned…” but only with the new breech 😀 )
Fact: You deny this, you say that even Gen-1 didn’t have any issue
4) The problem is exactly here, I will help you and many others to better understand (actually you know but you prefer to play dirty).
The fact is that the R3M Gen-1 had serious malfunctioning issues, this is a matter of fact proven times and times. But you deny this because otherwise you would have to refund people.
You have continued to work on the R3M cycling issue and you have improved it and THIS IS A GOOD THING, the bad thing is that you don’t tell everybody which Gen version you are currently on and which you are shipping
.
Everybody is referring to the post Gen-1 version as Gen-2 but as a matter of fact there is a Gen-3, Gen-4 and maybe Gen-5.
The problem arises when customers speak together and one says Gen-2 has solved my problem and the other says Gen-2 is still crap and you instead of helping honestly people out you say there was nothing to be improved
The problem is that Adham overhere refers to his new breech as Gen-2 and I’m referring to Gen-2 as well but actually we are both generically referring to post Gen-1 and probably “my friend told me” got version Gen-2 and Adham got version Gen-3, not the same product, cannot be compared.
Let’s suppose now one thing, suppose “my friend told me” has written prove that he got a replacement breech because Gen-1 and maybe Gen-2 were crap, are you disposed at this point to send a replacement breech to all the customers worldwide that are in the same situation and for the sake of equality should be entitled to receive a replacement breech? (I’m only speaking about a hypothesis but what would you do in that case?)
And continuing with hypothesis/assumptions, let’s just assume there have been replacement breeches (breeches that have been replaced because faulty), can I make an assumption/speculation to where the faulty ones went to? (A speculation is a speculation until it is proven by facts, you agree on this? The verba volant concept…)
All the very best you poor, innocent, hardworking attacked person
Please let me know how you want to proceed and greetings as well from “My friend told me”

It’s just a way to be positive 😀
Let’s always assume in life “the best has still to come”, “the best is still ahead”, only this makes life already so much better.
Now I agree that this assumption is very generic and probably even contradictory because what is best for ones isn’t probably best for others, so let’s just everybody being positive for himself. (In this context here probably somebody would call it “personal”)
Is there anything political or propagandistic in this statement? I do hope not.
