New .25 Vulcan
Well , I got ( SPOCK ) late yesterday . Didn’t come Friday due to bad weather , so they say . Number N1650016 , I thought the new shrouds where vented but haven’t
seen any vent holes yet . Only had time to mount my Vism 3-9x42mm with built-in red laser and had to go out to the local gun shop to get the 1″ scope mounts be-
cause the mounts on my Talon SS were to small for the Vulcan . I’ll remove the shroud tomorrow and see if it has been vented if it isn’t may have to call Tony and
ask him if it should have been . Shot one 9 round mag. through it just to see how it felt and I liked it alot , much better than having to reload a single shot gun . I
love the bolt action and also my trigger , it is nice and crisp and for me needs no adjustments . I still need to zero my scope and will do so as time allows , have
alot of things on the burner at the moment that supercedes playing with my new toy . It is louder than my .25 Talon SS and I’m not sure if it is from the barrel or
ping , trigger slap , etc . will work on it and see what it is . If it’s the shroud I’ll get in touch with Donny . Have a nice ECHO 1 , 32″ rifle case for it from ECHO 1
USA.COM . has 4 outside compartments with 4 inside velcro straps to secure it with . Has a standard outside carrying strap and an over the shoulder carrying strap
as well . If for any reasons I can’t make Spock backyard friendly then I’ll keep my .25 Talon SS for that and buy it a new scope and my brother is going to be shit
out of luck on getting the Talon and Spock will serve as the new Delta Master Blaster .

I ordered mine from Ernest.
I will run a before and after chrony string as you request.
However, how does one install it? Am I going to have to resort to the owner’s manual to take care of this? One would think someone as close to death as I am (I am well into my seventh decade) one could get a little help from the younger swine who infest this forum….but NOOOO…..I have to do everything myself.

PS: If I hadn’t been at Belleau Woods back in ’18, fighting off the Souix Indians with Teddy Roosevelt, a lot of your grandfathers might not have made it back from France to father your fathers! It was bad enough that I caught the flu coming home on that damn troop ship! Everyone on that ship died but me. Have YOU ever had to steer a cargo ship, while hand shoveling coal into six boilers, when you had the flu???? A man had to be hard back in those days!

Hoot could you run some chrony numbers before and after just to see if it effects the string.
Eelect, I installed mine sat and screwed the hst in to where it was. ran a string over the crono and it was dead nut on, didn’t effect the velocity at all.

Today , I did my second series of Shooting my .25 Vulcan at 50 yds. using the same 4 gr. pellets that I shot at 25 yds. Didn’t have a lot of time
to shoot so I only shot 18 rounds per target with each grain . Forgot to turn chrony on until I started shooting my last group so I only have one
gr. with fps info . (1) H&N cudas 28.40 gr. 18 pellet shot spread was 0.56 inch . (2) H&N cudas 31.02 gr. 18 pellet shot spread was 0.75 inch .
(3) JSB King MKII 33.95 gr. 18 pellet shot spread was 0.67 inch . (4) EJ’s 35.8 gr. 18 pellet shot spread was 0.56 inch and chrony average at
770 FPS . All four pellet grains showed to be very effective at 50 yards with the EJ’s 35.8 gr. pellet shooting the best at that distance , it
matched the same 0.56 inch shot spread of the H&N cudas 28.40 gr. If I had to pick only one pellet size to shoot out to 50 yds. I would have
to pick the EJ’s 35.8 gr. with the JSB King MK II 33.95 gr. pellet as my second choice . Next shooting session will be at 75 yds. and I’ll see
how effective they will be at that distance .

Ben as of right now we don’t know for sure. Just hold on to your jockstrap and give a trial and error period a chance….. Or better yet, hold on to Hoot’s balls and wait…. Ville knows he’ll really like that!

Bird, I crony’d again this morning with my pro crony and ran 50 pellets through it with NO velocity variation. Maybe just maybe the main spring the Oak sent me was the problem. Time will tell.
50 yards separate the men from the boys. If groups are not tight at 25 they usually get worse over distance.

Got my new Prochrony and order of pellets this weekend and had time to do some chrony with the new pellet grains . All four pellet grains where
shot at a distance of 25 yds. and 25 rounds per target , also all four grains where shot with a starting PSI of 250 Bars . (1) H&N 28.40 gr. pellet ,
chrony averaged 25 shots at 871.12 FPS and shot spread was 0.46 of an inch . (2) H&N 31.02 gr. pellet , chrony = 0 I could not get it to give a
reading , shot spread was 0.32 of an inch . (3) JSB MKII 33.95 gr. pellet , chrony averaged 25 shots at 787.84 FPS and shot spread was 0.29 of
an inch . (4) EJ 35.8 gr. pellet , chrony = 0 again I could not get the chrony working , shot spread was 0.54 of an inch . All of the four different
grain pellets showed that at 25 yds. that they will shoot good and can be used to make kills at that distance . The JSB MKII 33.95 gr. pellets shot
the best and I was just basicly stacking them on top of each other in the bullseye . The difference in weight from the EJ 35.8 gr. pellet and the
H&N 28.40 gr. pellet is 7.4 gr. with a shooting spread difference of 0.08 of an inch . I would have to say that in all reality shooting at 25 yds. the
EJ’s shoot just as good as the H&N 28.40 gr. pellet . Now I need to figure out how to get my chrony to work right every time I use it . My next posting
for these four pellets will be at 50 yds. and we will see how well they will perform at that distance .
