gold pellets!
I finally got my Chrony in and did some testing. I got with a Stock SS 28.5 Fpe with 21.1 grain double gold. I got 23 Fpe with 18.1 grain. Not bad for a stock ss. I think I will stick with the Double Gold Kodiaks 21.1 grain. They are more power and keep the barrel cleaner and not to mention accurate. Just so damn expensive!

I didn’t know that and think it is very important to know. I watch lots of hunting shows and see this all the time. When you place the shot high above the shoulder by neck and spinal connection seems to stop anything and drop like a sack of bricks. So these pellets as I said before are for something you might need more penetration. Like a squirrel behind a wooden fence or something. 😉

i havew lotsa bricks around and steel plates and such and ill record them ill be shooting them at roughly 1000 fps see if the magic copper will hold up ta that

Sounds to me like the Kodiak lead pellet is being shot at a brick and the
DG is being thrown at a brick…. I think external ballistics physics dictates
that pellet velocity is directly related to impact deformation as long as the
internal mass is equal to or less than the critical mass in molecular
structure related to the parallel universe as experienced by quantum
physics…
Interesting stuff ivannj 😀 Keep it coming. Any chance of some video of these pellets doing their thang? Or show us some piccys of the dg after it has been fired into that brick. I can kinda see where you are coming from. What you are saying is that at 800 fps, the standard pellets splat when they hit the brick, but the dg doesn’t . So they are a little harder I guess. Crank the speed up to 950 odd and they will squish up with the rest of them! The test is pointless cos you ain’t hunting bricks, but the results are still valid. At ‘low’ velocities, the dg is a little tougher. What the guys are saying is that you don’t want a tough pellet unless you head shooting, and even then the standard pellets do just fine. A pellet that stays inside the target has delivered ALL of the energy into the target. Any pass throughs are wasted energy. I shoot and kill rabbits all day long with Kodiaks. Problem is they pass through real easy and often the rabbit makes it back to its hole before it collapses and dies. I’m now trying the JSB Kings as they will exchange more energy to the target as they have a flater nose and hopefully will deform better.
Just trying to pass time not trying to insult anybody. Whatever just trying to see what the hype is about these pellets. I love them and want to see what people got to say about them not trying to here bullshit from knowitalls. Thanks for all the input I am trying to get more of these pellets to do more testing so keep you updated on anything that comes up.
So I guess suggesting that you study external ballistics was a bit over your head. Kinda starting to get where your coming from.
