Q:

Ruger 10/22

Just took my 10/22 out for a spin…. What a piece of crap…..
Trigger is 50lbs pull (I thought it was on safety)… And it shoots 6″ groups at
65yds. Or I shoot 6″ groups at 65yds with it…. It will defininitely not be pulled
out before the EDgun .25 for anything beyond 20yds….

I’ll put my marlin up against any of you savage guys.

OK OK OK….JUST JOKING. I was bored and had nothing better to say. I love em all. .17’s rock and so does my MARLIN 917……LOL.

It takes about 50 rounds to tighten the groups and then the gun is deadly accurate. I found the Hornday ammo the best with a subtle group size advantage going to their 20gn hollow point vs their varmint express 17gr V-Tip.

Be sure to get a good scope as 100 yards is a piece of cake for this gun. Remember the bolt ain’t as smooth as a Ruger and the magazine insertion sucks… But the gun feeds without jamming and shoots like a laser.

Their accutrigger is amazing and comes on virtually all their rifles.

The Savage line is one of the best kept secrets in the gun industry. I am not the least bit surprised to hear of you great experiences with them. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any stories or pics?

Not to start a fight… I like my Savage 17HMR with their Accutrigger. Yes the magazine sucks but the SS floated bull barrel and light trigger with 1″ at 100 yards out of the box more than compensates.

I was told about the 10/22 but after a bad experience with a different gun that sucked I decided to go with something that had a reputation for OOB performance.

Hope things work out.

I like my walnut stocked, delux model 1022. It shoots well, but I’m sure that trigger could use some work.

DOnt know if most of you 10/22 guys know this or not but, You can now buy FASTER TWIST RATE barrels for your 10.22 and it TRULY HELPS STABILIZE THOSE 40 GR BULLETS.

Been having one on my gun since they came out over a year ago and what a difference in accuracy. It really helps the 40 gr SUBSONIC ammo. Groups shrank by half. At 50 yrds, the CTC looks more like a finely tuned European airgun shot it than a .22 lr. My highly custom RUGER 10/22 can hang with my Rapid .25 as far as groups go.

Airguns are still more fun though…….LOL.

I bought my barrel from http://WWW.EABCO.COM

Good deal.
My 1022 shoots good with all ammo, but the 36 grain Federal is one clean hole at 25.
That 40 grain tightener uper is the real deal.
If I do anything else to mine it will be the trigger. I need some help on that since every body seems to be making them. 😀

I’m not saying people there can’t shoot, I’m saying you shot against someone who made lots of excuses and couldn’t shoot well.

If you shot both, not two people with different skill levels, then the cz would
outshoot it.

When my blaser was in .223 it was super easy to shoot. I had friends that couldn’t shoot a rifle very well, but could hit the back of a 9mm shell every time at 100 yards without a problem. When I shot it I could hit a staple at 100 yards. But I had some people that would get behind it and miss a clay pidgeon, about a 4″ target. So if I gave them that, and I shot a remington 700, I would probably group better than they did. So could you say then that the remington is better than the blaser? Absolutely not, just 2 different skill levels. The remington is not a bad gun, but it simply isn’t as good. Same thing here.

😀 😀 I’m playing with you man heck Not a serious bone in my body ,, to old and too slow LOLOL, But I can still shoot from a rest, or sitting and holding it on my knee LOLOL.
That CZ is a hoss of a gun I must say. But the Mod on the 1022 makes a good gun.
Its here to stay ,,, one reason is I’m just not into getting use to holding another Gun and getting used to it.
These airguns is the best thing since fire. 😀 😀 I shoot mine every day they keep me young LMBO…

shaggy, I tried to get and air gun barrel off of Green Mountain but they
weren’t givin it up…. I have heard the reviews about the .25 Marauder and I
was trying my damnedest to get one for my EDgun to try it out… No dice….

The honest truth is , the Marauder will stack those 25 caliber Diablos up at 50 yards. The same pellets they recommend in the Edgun.
My reason for liking the Edgun is that it is portable and small and fits the shoulder, and had a large shot per fill ratio. If you read the Marauder reviews they are adding shots to the fill 😀
My gun is factory accept the air screw and I backed it out 4 turns to open it plum up. It was already out 3 and 1/8th turns.
So from teh factory with only that 3/8ths more turn of the air screw I get 2 clips at 2500 pounds of energy, the gun shoots the first three about 1/2″ to the right at 50 yards and the rest is dead on , and I looked at the pressure gauge for each shot, and the gun loves the 2300 pound of Air down to about 1800, after that it shoots straight but low about 1/2″ for the next few, then lower ect.
So if I took it in the woods I’ll use 2300 pounds of air and that should give me eight straight in shots from about an inch high at 15 to dead center at 50. 10 to 45 is my magic airgun distance.
With the Air Force the scope mounts so high that a Laser is a must for 10 to 15 yards unless you are good at estimating about 2 inches high in the 10 to 15 range, then you can start holding on from 20 to fifty.
The Condor loves it like that. Actually it is better to Zero the Condor or the Talon for the approximate distance you plan to shoot, but heck, no one knows the mind set of a varmint 😀
Looks like the edgun can use shorter rings and that will give a flatter shot like the Discovery has, I like a close scope. 😕

A clay Pigeon is about 2″ across,

You need to get a new ruler. 😛

$350 12 years ago is definitely more now. So my cz costs between $400 and $500 2 years ago. So I’d say they are pretty close.

And yeah, anshutz are awesome for sure. I’ve played with one and everything is extremely nice.

Only .22lr I would trade my cz for, however, is a .22lr kit for my blaser. It bolts right on and I have a rimfire on my stock. However, it is $1600 last I checked, so that is why I still have my cz. 😀

A cz is more accurate than a 10/22. Don’t let other people who can’t shoot show you groups. Get someone who will let you use the rifle and shoot it for yourself.

A local gun dealer priced me the CZ American 22 for under $500.
He said it wouldn’t out shoot the 1022 I have. He saw it shot on his range.
People here can’t shoot a gun? 😀
Or do I need to find someone that can shoot a gun? 😀
These guys are state champs 😀 They use both the Pistol and the Rifle 😀
I don’t get into comp shooting, too many , too much time,, and too much hurry up and see how fast you can do it. 😀
These People are like me they was raised on Gun Powder LMBO 😀 The record kill in Vietnam was done by a guy in West Virginia with an M-14 and a scope, he was in the 101’st sniper Division 😀
I’m sorry to say but I seen what I am posting personally and witnessed it, My own 1022 out shot the CZ, thats all I can say and the guy had all kinds of excuses, but all I had was the Federal High Powered 36 grain bulk Hollow point I bought at Wally World LMBO,. 😀
I’m not downing the CZ, but it is no match for the Green Mountain barrel, even the 25 caliber Marauder has the Green Mountain Barrel and it out shoots every airgun I got at the 50 yard range.
All of them shoots to specks, but the Marauder shoots better.
But for my Use I won’t pick from any of them they are all good guns.
I just wish that Edgun was a little cheaper, I’d love to try a Bull-pup gun. 😀
