Q:

1st Rogue in…….NOT GOOD

If you haven’t seen it over on the Yellow, the 1st Rogue experience is not a good one.

I have to say that even today, i am still amazed at how folks will DEFEND a gun that doesn’t shoot well and its manufacturer. Were is the FIGHT in all of us anymore? Everyone is telling the guy to send the gun back to Crosman and Crosman will make it right. Am i the only IDIOT who still beieves in the simple principle that if they don’t get it right the first time then why give them a second one. For 1300-1500 bucks, 25 bucks for 25 bullets, and a shit load of HYPE, if i got results like what that guy got, Crosman would receive a RETURN package from me alright, but my Rogue would not be in it…lol. It just amazes me how folks get crap and all anyone can say is, “they’ll do you right, send it back”. It cost time and money to ship a gun “ONCE PAID FOR” back for repairs or service that it SHOULD NOT NEED in the first place. Trust me, i know that if i DO NOT know how to work on airguns, then i have no choice but to return it but this is simply BULLSHIT.

I guess my attitude comes from having one too many AIRguns that cost a ton of money have issues from the jump. BB guns simply COST waaayyy to fucking much money for what they are and for the problems they have to exist when NEW.

AM I THE ONLY ONE?

What would you like to see in a rouge review?
I’m no expert, but maybe I can answer any missing questions.

I first posted about my rogue here:
http://www.marauderairrifle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2143

Short Version of that Post:
Rogue got “Critical Halt High PSI”…sent back for repairs

Since I’ve got the rifle back and was able to shoot 1 day
*Not safe to shoot in my back yard, so I have to do it on the weekends else where

My rogue seems mainly “fixed” lol…still a 100PSI leak per day, Normal?

I didn’t do anything in depth, just wanted to see if it was working after getting it back.(no pics)

I found that nosler and roundballs (.358) would shoot very well, hole in hole @ 30yards.
*Everything else I tested were random…Dash Caliber, Air Venturi, Eun Jin
*Didn’t check if they were clipping the baffles, so

anyway, let me know what you would like to see….

What this Rogue rifle really needs is to be placed into the hands of an experienced bigbore airgunner that knows how to shoot, with an analytical mind capable of diagnosing, and correcting the simple stuff, and getting right down to how this rifle actually performs in reality.

Though it appears that even Crosman is now saying that adjusting power and boolit weight “on the fly” with the computer isn’t really a reality if you are set at high power, and want to take a low power shot or two. It is really hard to tell considering the language barrier issues with the reviewer and all.

As it stands right now, it is falling flat on it’s face in the hands of the average customer (along with the first report of a Rogue Owners’ customer service experience). They didn’t even bother using the magazine at all (just like the pre-release proto-type when it was making it’s appearances at the gunshows I think).

HELL YEAH! The target explanation was HORRIBLE and terribly confusing. I was lost as hell. He said the TOP row then middle row then the lower row but, if you look at it again, it looked like he went VERTICALLY and not HORIZONTALLY. I’m fucking lost on that.

I also wonder about those baffles. The next thing i would like to see is the gun shoot without the baffles or shroud on the barrel. That way we could see a little more of the full accuracy potential. I’m betting the gun is more accurate without the baffles and shroud…

FRIENDLY WAGER ANYONE!?

I though there were some decent longer range groups but I appear to suffer from the same type confusion with the post as you. 😉

Maybe that’s the thing, most of these Rogue owners can’t make a decent post, perhaps it speaks of their ability to group and use air guns as well. 😆 I’m kidding, no i’m not, yes I am, no i’m not… 😕

Ok seriously, it does appear to be the one consistent thing with the Rouges though… 🙂

I don’t know. That report is too hard to follow for me. I can’t be sure how consistent the gun was and the groups at 27 yards don’t really amount to much for me when they seem picked out of a mess.

But seeing that the unit appears to work better tethered would that then mean the system doesn’t work properly when used normally… 😕 😯

That is the best shooting Rogue report i’ve seen yet…

I agree with you guys for the most part but I do think there might be a problem with tethering the gun. The “smart” valve is supposed to compensate for the lower pressure after a shot by changing the valve timing. How do those calculations get done when after a shot the pressure isn’t constant but rising due to being tethered?

The “brain” is simply a calculator right?

If you have a 200 grain bullet on high power and switch the bullet weight input to 100 grains will it slow the velocity of the 200 grain bullet?

From what I could tell from the shit for instruction manual it just calculated the remaining shots per the pressure and the bullet weight that has been set in the interface.

Well, that seems to be the problem with airguns and the folks that make and sell them. you buy the gun based off of what YOU’VE BEEN SOLD to believe then, when you get it, there is more to it (n a negative way) than what you were originally lead to believe.

Like you B. i thought that gun had a smart valve. Not a valve that i have to fill to certain pressures if i want to shoot a certain power levels. I guess once a person gets used to the system and they target shoot with it a lot, that’s fine. But, whats also dumb about this gun is……….IT DON”T NEED 3 POWER LEVELS. It’s a big bore and they are meant for all out killing power. If one wants to target shoot, that’s what you have small bores for like 177 and 22. No friggen way I’m buying the Nosler ammo to punch paper. And if its a HUNTER like Crosman claims then the gun should shoot at HIGH POWER ALL THE TIME.

Those NOSLER bullets or any bullets shot out of an BB airgun needs all the BOOST they can get to perform at their best.

Looks like there was a better test day down south with a replacement rifle…? The leak fix thing still has me a bit puzzled…

http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1317668827/The+Rogue+Experience…continuum…

The accuracy part of the testing was tethered, which doesn’t amount to diddly-squat as far as practicality/hunting goes. Maybe OK for setting-up a table over a p-dog town……it sure doesn’t compliment the new technology of the valve to test tethered.

I have yet to see the electronics simplify anything, or show it’s performance in any sort of way……at the moment a clock radio would do the same thing (nothing). Only now is Crosman telling us what the valve CAN’t do, that you need a certain fill pressure for a certain power level, boolit weight etc.

I thought the brain valve was supposed to compensate for that stuff in the first place? From what has been demonstrated, it seems like Crosman took standard mechanical valve bigbore airgun performance and over-complicated it with a fancy idiot light.

The best so far

You guys remember the joke about name three people shot in the head?

Lincoln, Kennedy and the guy in front of Pee Wee Herman in the theater.

Well with Chips advice to shoot deer in the head because of the lack of power for shooting them in the body, and the experience of the fellow from PR on the Yellow today, perhaps we should add the entire Crosman Rogue team to the list.

What a fucking diaster, but like I have been saying all along, this is how Crosman apparently business, they did it with the Mrod on the barrels and the Prod on the barrels and now the Rogue on the…well just about everything.

I had some issues on my Ranger 45 when I first bought it, they were easily solved, but it still shot great out of the box.

Sure the Rogue does have a magazine, sort of….

Roachcreek

😕

Hmm, not the best review, although it does sound like occasionally it can shoot a good group… 1.5″ctc at 50.

I can see the mag issue causing some shot and accuracy problems. Could be the cause of the other reviewer’s dud shot issues.

Looks great on the bench. 😯
