Q:

.30 STD. 245 bar to off the reg. 30 shots now !!

Here is my first string from my .30 Std. for comparison. I just got my chrony figured out this evening.

Reading down through and studying my #’s I think after some comments hopefully, am going to need to bring my reg. down a bit and see if it smooths out. I think less Regulator and more probably more HST will be needed to flatten the string. That’s from “0” experience other than reading this forum to learn, but either way I’ll turn it into practical application and find out if I’m right or not. unless otherwise advised. I am lost as to explaining the dip on #7 – #11 so i’m all ears on that. Also I was estimating that #26 bar reading since I shot to #28 and it was 115 when I looked. They drop like a rock when they fall off the reg. My gun has about 800 rds. thru. it so far. I am going to be filling to 230 bar and test at 240 while watching air consumption. I really want 27-28 shots, 25 clean and 2-3 sighters if I can figure it out the combination to do it, but a smooth string and best accuracy will dominate my criteria for adjusting things.

Oh oh. Goo Gone uses mineral spirits as the carrier. Supposedly not good on rubber? It’s ok with BunaN and polyurethane rings.

With the 30 cals you just pull the muffler cover. 🙂

almost forgot

STRAWS

Were only talking lead here…. and its good (i wouldn’t go coating them, just mean it don’t really bother them) on the orings incase you get some on them

Yup GOO GONE , old T shirts cut into patches and Weed wacker line

Wal-Mart Goo Gone? I thought I had every gun cleaner known to mankind but that is a new one. 🙂

goo gone ??? the bore ?? lost me, I havent heard that one !!

This setting looks pretty good… You may wanna Just hang it up there for a while and let the thing soak over 500-1000 shots… Maybe back HST down just a wiska …

Now break out the GOO GONE and some patches and go to town

That’s looking very good now. Yup – looks like you could gain a few shots by lowering the HST just a bit. As long as it isn’t clipping it should be one accurate pup.

Have you tried adjusting your HST till it peaks on the velocity? There will come a point while adjusting it that it won’t climb anymore and it may drop some. you should try and find that spot kinda right at the top of the hill. then ease the regulator back till you get the FPS desired.

Disregard this i saw your old pic LOL

Please take another look !! and ……I am thinking after the fact that maybe a little less HST might get me there as long as I don’t re-create the swell at the end.

You’ve got 22 flat hot hunting shots for the Standard. It appears that the velocity can go up a bit more by lowering the Reg. 😯 So I guess now you need to lower the HST a bit if you want a few more shots? Maybe try 1/8 turn or 1/4 at most.

It will do that…. HST is still hitting with same strength, not as much pressure on the backside of the valve so it will open more/stay open longer.

just a little more tweaking almost there…

I had backed the HST off 1/3 turn when I backed the reg down, on the last posted string and it looked close to what I was wanting so I did not go further and decided to let is settle down and see what it done. Her is the next string with no changes other than 240 fill. I am still looking for the best accuracy in the end but since I am shooting 10 yards indoor doing this I also have secondary wish of 28 stable shots and guessing 880 885 will do that. Based on that and this newest string here I am thinking I still need less reg, maybe another 1/8 turn ??

Looking more the swell is gone now so maybe a back off on the HST to get shot count up may do it. Balance is close…

Dman, what say ye ???

I messed up and posted the wrong pic a min. ago here is the last string…

Yup. If I lower the reg 1/8 turn I will need to lower the HST a bit. Best for us new reg Ed tuning guys to change one variable a time. 🙂

I am also noticing the HS is pretty well compressed when it starts lowering the velocity. Maybe have to measure the force on the hammer when it gets to that point.

You have it hugging 80 fpe now. 🙂

I’m going out now to do a 240 fill and and a new string first.
