.308 Build
Ordered all the pieces from AF today so I can build my .308 Condor. Frame, trigger asembly, power wheel, fore arm grip. I have 28″ barrel and bigbore Blod valve. I will make everything else. Lathe is going to be here around 12:00 tomorrow. Can’t wait to start making things on a real lathe. I will then have .22 .25 and .308. Want to try and break 400 fpe with .308.

guys,
particularly doug, i wish you guys al the best in this madness.genuinely.
while it probably wont sell for a number of reasons, i am personally close to a nervous breakdown and am selling my girl. i thought id have it closer to done by now, and ive grown extraordinarily frustrated.
ive had so many good ideas i was unable to put to life because of a lack of equipment, and there have been several opportunities with several people to acquire their finely crafted goods. for one reason or another(god hates me) it seems not meant to be, ill never build the gun i envisioned and i learned a long time ago, to quit while youre behind and to take a hint.
my best wishes,
bill
Yeah maybe I shouldn’t be messing with him 😀
You should probably include a disclaimer as a fellow TAG member is already having a meltdown :banghead: :banghead:   :thumb: :thumb:

Give me 1/2 hour and I will post even better numbers 😀
Working on the .22 and .25 version of the shroud. Should be around 12.5″ long and will work on my .25 at full power.
Shot the .25 today and it is amazing how much power and noise it makes.
70.2 gr 983 fps
62.0 gr 1018 fps
89.5 gr 900 fps
3 shots same fill. If I would have started with 9 rings it would have broke 170 fpe.

Thanks. Still have a to finish the piece that covers the left side of the breech area and then gun is done. More valve work in the future.

Good looking build there. Nice balance also. The larger OD on the shroud makes it look a lot less than 16”.
😀
I absolutely love it 😀 . Now tell me more about your ideas for the .451.
Here it is. Shroud is 16.5″ long with 28″ barrel. Making same shroud for .25 and .22 but 4″ shorter. Still have to get everything anodized and refinish the tank. Still have more plans for .308, but for now I’m going to work on .451. Have some interesting ideas for .451.

Finished another valve yesterday. This one is standard 18×1.5mm on the tank side. Valve spring is center mounted like the larger valve. Only problem with making these valves flow so good is they don’t want to shut off. I have a 42 lb return spring in it. Other valve has a 52 lb spring in it.
I’m still learning about what works and what works better. Found out that less power wheel makes more power on lower fill pressure with the new valve. I can shoot 3100 psi on PW 0.
Here’s what I got today
3000 psi fill
.085″ tophat
118 gr 925 fps
158 gr 842 fps
171 gr 806 fps
Turns out the 171 are .309’s and I ordered .308’s so they are slower than before.
3300 psi
.085″
118 gr 956 fps
158 gr 864 fps
171 gr 856 fps
Old valve does pretty much the same numbers on .080″ tophat and with .100″ it adds about 20 fps.
Did this shot string
62 ci tank larger valve
3300 fill
.080″ tophat
PW-6
First shot was a 158 gr and the next 11 were 118
856
919
PW now 2
924
919
PW-0
913
909
898
889
888
885
887
872
Did this with tophat at .075″ before I made all my shims and a tank smaller than the stock condor.
3300 psi fill
PW-0
158 gr
799
821
822
804
791
I can set the tophat from .060″ to .100″. Seems like like it makes the most power with .080″ or .085″.
If its to big off a design secret, send me an email. 😀
Maybe.
Please post some pictures of the core, when its done.

Finally made the cover for the left side of the frame to match the right. Machined the piece of tubing 6 months ago.
Now the gun is done. I will have it striped and everything bead blasted then anodied black.
