Q:

50 yard target

Ok so today it’s calm and overcast, so I set up a target at 50 yards to see what this Vulcan can do. Mind you I only have around 300 rounds through this bullpup and I’m still getting used to it. I’m shooting off the back deck and it’s nice a solid, sand bags are set, everything looks and feels good.

I filled to 210 Bar and settle in. I fired 1 mag and check target…..

not to bad so I placed another target up and fired some more………33 rounds total on this target….

So far I’m happy, all my shots were very consistent in velocity + or – 3 fps…

I was going to put my Leupold 6×18 Varmint scope on just to see how it would do but I forgot it’s in Missouri getting new hairs……

Did you get a response re the 0 rings.?

yes he said the air probe O-rings are 4.5mm x 1.5mm. I used one for my breech o-ring and it works fine.

4.5mm x 1.5mm will fit for .22?

So Zonk has Vulcan been working good enough to take on a pest fest yet? How did it go? Been able to chop some heads at 50 yet?

I also used one for my breech o-ring. Fits fine and seals tighter.

I’m not sure if they came in bad shape or if I clipped them on my first fill attempt but my probe orings where damaged so I had to use the two in the bag..it fills fine no but I’m guessing a guy better order more of these

11 shots and only 2 strays….

Damn, why do my photos keep getting posted sideways?

I received Oaks spring in the mail yesterday and put it into my Vulcan this morning. Set up crono and fired 100 shots. ALL shots were very consistent, 901 to 912 fps. Here is a 50 yard group with 11 shots……………

and here’s another 50 yard target with 22 shots…….

so far so good. Lets hope this solves my velocity problem.

O-RINGS ❓
I got a little baggy with 2 that I assume are Breech size
And I have another baggy with 2 that I think are fill probe size, and 1 about 5/8″ OD, and 1 about 15/16″ OD I ASSume are for the shroud ❓
But like I said, I’m so cheep I initially replaced my Breech o-ring with an A009 from a harbor freight assortment. And then got that WOW 2.1 x33 shot string. That was after trying an A008 that came out on the Breech Block probably after another failed attempt to latch the bolt forward 😳
Is anyone besides me seeing a pattern of self abuse here 😎

My oring is pretty tight on 25 too. So you could be on to something. I make it a point to lube oring a bit every tin of pellets

I do the same thing also. Here’s my question. The two O-rings that came with the gun are they breech O-rings or fill probe O-rings? If they’re fill probe O-rings that is what I used to replace breech O-ring. The O-ring I removed from the breech is thinner and the hole is larger in diameter then the other two that was in with the gun.

Zonk, at the very least replace the o-ring every 54,000 rounds
If you’ve still got that old o-ring give it the old exam.
I wouldn’t have thought to replace mine if when I blew it out of place again and couldn’t get the breech closed, I pulled it out and lubed it with silicone. While rolling it with silicone between my fingers like a half we booger I felt a little inconsistency and then examined it with a magnifier. Not only was it slightly cut across one place but the outer edge was nipped in 2 places as if it was being squared off a little at a time.

DAMN SHIT HELL…I can’t find it now to include a picture :angrymob:

OH SHIT…Some cheapskate pack rat probably put it in the assortment box of o-rings :butkick:

Oh well, just like I always say, there’s definitely going to be a next time 😳 😳 😳

Ok I took Lurkers advice and changed out the breech O-ring. I had the old one out and the new one in, in less then a minute and a half. The new one felt much tighter when I closed the bolt, I always rub silicone grease on my breech O-rings and it still felt tight.
So out I went and crono’d, ALL 66 shots were between 901 to 907 with no drop in velocity. Could this just be coincident?? Only time will tell. Maybe it was possible that I was losing air around a loose fitting O-ring. In the next few days I’ll run another 100 or so through the crono to see if it remains constant.
