Q:

50 yard target

Ok so today it’s calm and overcast, so I set up a target at 50 yards to see what this Vulcan can do. Mind you I only have around 300 rounds through this bullpup and I’m still getting used to it. I’m shooting off the back deck and it’s nice a solid, sand bags are set, everything looks and feels good.

I filled to 210 Bar and settle in. I fired 1 mag and check target…..

not to bad so I placed another target up and fired some more………33 rounds total on this target….

So far I’m happy, all my shots were very consistent in velocity + or – 3 fps…

I was going to put my Leupold 6×18 Varmint scope on just to see how it would do but I forgot it’s in Missouri getting new hairs……

I get an odd round now and then. More often a 1st round after a rest will be about 50 fps slow.
But then late in a string of 22 or more I’ll get one round faster than average by 60 or more fps.
I had hopes of yours being fixed so I could get the bug out of mine mine.
I even deliberitly loaded 3 pellets backwards but they dropped only 10 fps from average.
All my pellets have been sorted by 0.1 of a grain.

It sure shoots good for me but I won’t be buying another until this velocity problem is fixed :angrymob:

yes I did Lurker. not sure if I can tell or not. I’m getting a variation in Velocity again. I did 4 strings today and each string had at least one shot that was 803 fps. One string had two shots in the low 800s. I can’t figure it out…….

Next week sounds good, hopefully it isn’t a day as hot as we’ve been getting.

Zonk, did you port the shroud yet ❓
How does it compare to the Cricket without the slip on ❓
Mine is quieter shooting a pellet indoors than when dry firing.

I’d like to compare them maybe sometime next week.

:tag: Andreas. That’s what I was getting also with mu Vulcan. A nice tight group and then a flyer 1/4″ to 3/8″ out of center. Wish I’d have taken a picture, maybe today if it’s calm….

Hi Zonk & greetings to all the lads here on this great platform,

this is my second comment here – after my introductory one – quite a while ago.
I have been reading here for many months and would like to say a big “Thank You” for the heap of information shared.

Based on quite substantial knowledge also from your forum I did some tinkering on my then newly purchased P12 and compared to Zonk’s results my ones show some future potential too.
Please note my distance shot is 50m thus 55 yards, seated from a table of the bipod (1-EUR Cent coin / Dia 16,25 mm):

As you can see from my comments on the picture the AG shot a little bit too hot those days and sience I tamed her to some extend. Couldn’t repeat this result so far anyway. Will try this autumn.
Happy shooting.
Andreas

I just got back and took some flyers out…………………. 😆

Don’t let them FLIERS get the best of yoy

I found that out Sat. Not saying I don’t like my Vulcan as it’s my new truck gun. Heading over to the cattle barn now to do some Smackin….

Zonk a seasoned cricket will be extremely hard to beat.

Sat I did shot both guns, cricket and Vulcan at 50 yards. The cricket out shot the Vulcan hands down. The cricket would keep a nice group about 1/2″ while the Vulcan would group the same but had flyers enlarging it to 3/4″. Maybe it’ll get better as the barrel wears in.

Yep that’s Zonk, He has already got the white stuff, A little confused, He thought he was shooting the Vulcan, but it was his Daisy red rider BB gun,,,
You can tell buy the 50 yard holes in the target that it was BBs and not pellets,
At his age he just gets his guns mixed up.

WOW, that must mean the host is putting up a cash prise ❗

I hope there is a second place prise too so ❓

$$$$$$$$$$ on the line….

Terrible time focusing with low rings so I ordered high rings so I will have the high ground in our shootouts.
I had to qualify at least yearly for over 25 years but never competed before. That’s why I’m calling on beginners luck 🙄
