Q:

50 yard target

Ok so today it’s calm and overcast, so I set up a target at 50 yards to see what this Vulcan can do. Mind you I only have around 300 rounds through this bullpup and I’m still getting used to it. I’m shooting off the back deck and it’s nice a solid, sand bags are set, everything looks and feels good.

I filled to 210 Bar and settle in. I fired 1 mag and check target…..

not to bad so I placed another target up and fired some more………33 rounds total on this target….

So far I’m happy, all my shots were very consistent in velocity + or – 3 fps…

I was going to put my Leupold 6×18 Varmint scope on just to see how it would do but I forgot it’s in Missouri getting new hairs……

Lurker, I’ll replace it this morning and run another string. If you need a side plate screw let me know I’ll send you a couple. My hammer has plenty of free play, it’s not tight at all.

Well it looks with time every single 22 cal will have to go to Ernest to finish up the gun. I though that’s what the factory should do. This is crazy stuff.

I am not certain eTeesticle it is with Ernest being silenced. He will tune and de-ping and rid the cursed hammer slap and make for a happy happy trigger. I will let you know once I get it back where we stand.

Zonk, just for shits replace the Breech O-ring and run a string.
I was going to pull my hammer again to see if something was rubbing it since I had polished it. But I stripped the allen head of one of the 3 side plate screws and couldn’t get it out for a while. So instead I checked and found a 2 loose screws that hold the Cocking Rod to the Breech Block. ALSO found they were not the M3x14mm screws listed in the parts in the manual. I’ll order the correct ones. I cleaned the Breech Block area and re-lubed it to help ease cocking.

Then i f’d up the Breech o-ring by not fully latching the bolt again. This time I examined the o-ring and found the outer edge had been shaved. Then your advice helped me get a new o-ring installed.

I had been having some low and even some high velocities thus this tear down.
So back together with some moley and the new A009 HF o-ring I got the chrono readings I sent to you:
•••••••••*******••••••••••
9/13/15 HOME AFTER
RE-WORK & NEW O-RING
HOT DAMN I’m GOOD
Chrono’d 33 Rounds
.22 18.3+ JSBs
SD = 2.1
True MV = 915
Adding 10 for distance 5′
912,918,917,916,914,914,
912,916,912,917,917,916,
916,915,916,915,915,914,
916,915,912,911,911,915,
915,914,916,914,910,913,
911,912,912.
I was planning to re-adjust for lower fps but they started out so consistent I ran this 33 shot string and let it be.

Today I zero’d my scope and got tighter groups but didn’t re chrony yet.
I really think the new O-ring did a lot to level out my velocities.
Thanks again for the tip how to get that O-ring installed

I can’t believe it would be great spring. Did the replacement parts fix your problem Oak?

I have an extra spring Zonker you want it? I will ship it too you but you have to let me get my way with the Nanny g0at :fishinghole:

I agree Eelect. It was looking good until shot # 43 don’t know what else I can do…

Man Zonk that really is not good. Hammer looks like it’s binding somehow. I would not be happy at all. Can’t shoot the steel siding on the barn!

Nope it’s not the crony. I’ve been using two cronys and it does it with both. And shot dropped 1.5″ low. I pulled target after 33rd shot.

You sure not the chrony? Bcoz it’s just one shot from 44 and this huge drop is not reflected in the group. Usually only one shot in the whole string or more?

Ok I just crono’d again and also shot a 50 yd target. Here’s what they look like.

as you can see the 50 yard target looks ok but look at shot # 43. I can’t figure out why it keeps dropping so low…..

😯 Zonk have you same problem with inconsistency ? I thought it was repaired by Ernest.

Yes it just started the other day. Today I just ran 7 strings through it and only had 1 drop down to 856. Last week I had several drop down to 803. I’ll keep shooting in hopes that it’ll work it self out.

Fox, Ernest sent my gun back before he came up with a solution to the noise.

zonker……..
how is the noise level now that u have your gun back??? 🙄
know ernest did some work on it, too make your gun more quite with the hammer slap.

Same here Lurker. I’ve shot probably 300 rounds since I’ve had it back and it’s back to the same inconsistency in velocity. Where I shoot I can’t afford to have a pellet drop 2″ to 3″ and put a hole in the steel siding…
