A Baby .177 Cricket is Born
I would like to thank Steve and the gang at WAGG for a safe delivery. 😆 I do have the cheek piece but forgot to pop it on for the first photos. Actual targets using both light and heavy JSBs were supplied and impressive along with shot string results. About 900 fps with the heavies and 955 fps with the lights. I was actually looking to tune it to exactly 900 fps with the heavies. Too cool.

eelect – I checked my shroud with a .175 brass probe I have and it was right down the center of the bore. I know my .22 Cricket which I have had for a year is centered as well. Did you say you picked your Cricket up used? What is the history of the gun?
I really enjoy shooting my 177 very much. Quiet and just plain enjoyable. Its not a cricket but it’s nice to shoot them after a couple grand of 22 shots

As it is my neighbor said he doesn’t hear it right now with the stock shroud and he is about 125 feet away through a row of white pines to the side. I really doubt you will notice much difference if he bores it up to the .25 size. It will be whisper quiet with an LDC enhancement IMO. Probably mainly the hammer noise. These little guns are really fun. :biggrinn:
Once Steve figured out what was going on, he held one for me since I had ordered a compact and it is on the way, I am anxious to get it and try the N.C. moderator and LDC extension on it. I had Ernest clearance it for up to 25 cal so I could use it on all of my Crickets so might not be as quiet on the 177 as it could of possibly been, I’ll do a quick video with and without as soon as the baby cricket arrives.
Baby Cricket drew first blood several times this morning. It’s real nice. At 900 fps the 10.34 JSBs don’t take many prisoners. There wasn’t a flutter among the group. All were hit pretty hard. The impact is still quieter than the .22 JSB 18s though. I really can’t tell any aiming difference from the standard Cricket out to the 50 yards I have been shooting. It may replace the .22 standard Cricket as my favorite shooter real soon. 😉
I’m in love with mine. It found a new home. I store it in my bottom dressor drawer ontop of my old white tees
Fits perfect
I am surprised how accurately this thing shoots with so few pellets through it. I guess Charlie put a few dozen through it and the gun looks brand spanking new. I cleaned it (it was still clean) and put about 50 through it and it already shoots 1/2″ groups at 50 yards. Wind can be an issue though. Once it quieted down to dead calm it became a tack driver at any range. I will really need to run it through Chairgun and practice up on the wind with these little pellets.
I want mine. I´m waiting Hannu to get a couple of .25´s in so he can send them all in the same Freight. Those .25´s are for my friends so they´ll pay the freight – since i´m a cheap bastard. Hurry up , KalibrGun !
😯 😯 😯 Either the scope is humongous or the gun is overly petite. Or both … Audi Dog indeed !

Looks sweet sir.
A lot better than my 10lb .25.
But I didn’t get the .25 to sweep birds.
and all I see now is birds.
enjoy your new little toy. :confusedn:
Not yet but it was bred and born for bird pesting. 😛
Victimized any sparrows yet?

Looking really good! The .177 has so much flatter trajectory too. I´d like to know how a .20 cal Compact would shoot. The 5mm/.20 is often overlooked as a caliber but it really was the best of both worlds in my HW 97 : Moore oomph than a .177 but almost as flat trajectory. If the .177 is the perfect Sparrow slayer then the .20 should be about perfect for Starling/Pidgeon sized Birdies . :fishinghole:

I still regret the sell of my HW 97 .20 cal …
