Q:

AirMax P15 .25

Came last night. nice looking little pup is light as advertised. Spits AA 25.4s 796fps Hi, Lo 576 from just adjusting the hammer spring. trigger not bad nothing in the paperwork on what the reg is set at.

Pulled the stock off as i was unscrewing the rear mount bolt i heard something spring loose. nothing fell out lol. inspecting the bolt threads you could tell how far it was screwed in. so i screwed it in to see how far it moved the trigger rod that was what sprung free.

looks to be about 3 or 4 threads sticking through the hole hitting the trigger rod. i put it back together and just left out the rear bolt the front bolt holds it fine for now. i’ll cut a washer for it later. the side lever started out a little rough. the arm link seems to be hitting a square corner left over from milling i’ll hit that with a file later. not really crazy about the 11mm scope rail but looks like skilled laborer could whip up a weaver rail in no time. on sound at 1 meter away 796fps on my cheap sound meter 114dba, 1meter away 576fps 104dba.
ok so instead of making a washer for the rear mounting bolt i went ahead an sawed of 5 threads. that seemed to work best.

Maybe changing the washer stacking would help some?
As far as I recall you wrote earlier that they are stacked 2 by 2. Maybe try one stack with 3?

Pulled the piston and washer stack out of the dominator reg stuck it in the P15 reg. Back shooting 25.3 started recording hst adjustments till it levels off. 0 turns 666, half turn 718 one turn 740 one and a half 762 2 turns 782 2 and one half 791 three turns 791 three and a half turns 788 four turns duli 788. Ok so I dialed it back to 2 and a half going to run a couple mags see if it’s creeping.

Ok this seems to be a working reg. Reg break in 200/300 shots anyone?

quote Wingman NZ:

turn your reg up a bit to get 900fps.. looks like your hammer spring is too heavy for that low setting

Wingman I apologize but I have been unable to achieve 900 with this oem reg. Every thing I’ve tried I fail on. No replacements regulator or parts available as of yet.

Ok on these regs shouldn’t the piston move back against the c clip holding it after the tube has been air up? Anyone?
Pulled the reg out the other gun and yes it’s pushed right up next to the c clip. So the oem reg you can blow air from the hp side through the regulator. Can’t blow through the other reg.

pulled the old reg apart pulled all the orings off. Dumped the metal parts in the sonic cleaner for a hr. Checked all the washers with my digital microscope. No cracks looked pretty normal. Give all the metal parts a good steam cleaning replaced all the orings. Robbed some of the dominator O rings.

Well Loic, from what I read, he tried but did NOT succeed, therefore the Huma comes in handy.
Think in Mik’s case the original reg was simply inoperational, maybe bad washers, maybe bad seals, maybe bad piston or a combination of several issues. Difficult in these cases to determine if you’re not an expert or have some special tools. Sometimes these little thingys don’t do as intended from the factory or are simply out of spec.
Maybe Mik can get an exchange reg from his gun shop and compare against the Huma, that would for sure be interesting to see.

yes mine is ok
it s not a long time i have it(only one week)
you problem could be bad washer belleville inside the reg(it s cheap and easy to change for better)
huma air is good but it s so petty to spend 95euro for a new reg before to try to fix original one

No The reg is clean. Changed o rings on page 2 guess you missed it. Only washers I have that fit this reg is what came with it.
I haven’t run into any different washer lay out little lone any information from Artemis on reg specs. Even better reason to purchase the huma reg. Sorry $90 for the huma, believe me money well spent.
I notice you say yours seems to be ok.

are you try to clean you reg?or change washer (it s cheap and it could resolve you problem)
the design of the chinese reg is very close to huma air.
you problem could be a leak or a bad o ring..
before ordering something so expansive, you really should change you o rings for good one
the barrel is decent not as good than my fx but it cost 3 less than my spa..
for me the big problem is the sound..it s loud so when you have you hear near ,it s not confortable
other than that it s a good pcp and very accurate once you have the good pellet/output pressure tune

quote loic:

i have one in the same calibers and regulator seem to be good!!
i can understand if you want to improve you accuracy with a brand blank barrel (and higer lenght) but i don t understand the reason to change the reg..

Ok I’m happy yours seems to work, mine doesn’t. I spent 2 days 8 tear downs trying to adjust it up the pressure no luck.
What kind of chrony numbers is yours shooting?

Hey Mik,
I don’t think there was a second thought behind Loic’s question. Remember, English isn’t t his native language, don’t think the question was about what you’re doing with your dollars.
Anyway, already found the best pellet?

Ok thanks Papa just started to sound strange. figure I’ll be shooting jsb king 25.3g. Replacing the barrel with a .25 Marauder barrel.

regulator are a easy working parts so it s difficult to have bad one..
if you change almost everything you should buy an fx or other gun(90usd for a new reg+120usd for a new blank barrel..)

Lmfao pretty sure it cost less money fixing up my p15 than buying a pos FX or other gun. Besides why the fuck you give a rats ass about what money I spend?
