Q:

Ammunition accountability act

This was just forwarded to me. Hope all of you that voted for osama are happy, because this is going to suck if it goes through.

quote :

Ammunition Accountability Act
Did you know anything about this, Alabama is one of the states mentioned. The gun control liberals got a setback when the Supreme Court upheld the 2nd amendment rights in Wash. DC. Now they are trying to come thru the back door. Please forward this to all you know that want to keep their guns!!!! Maybe we can start a ground swell, or continue it at least, that will go all over the U.S. and have a positive impact on the outcome.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a database of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held un-coded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.(Including hand loaded ammo.)

They will also charge a.05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo then they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

every one should check out the nra web sight it has a lot of imfo on the gun grabbers etc

The way I see this new law is if you have extra ammo at the drop dead date your a felon… So all those molds will be felonies, just like a sawed off shotgun or rifle…

Sounds like this bill will effectively kill reloading in the states where it passes, if you have reloading equipment your a felon…

I’m in the process of reading the prop for California and have yet to find ANY reference to ammo marking…

I found this though and it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense except for the ease of imprisonment of handgun owners…

(f) Nothing shall prevent a device defined as a “handgun,”
“pistol,” “revolver,” or “firearm capable of being concealed upon the
person” from also being found to be a short-barreled shotgun or a
short-barreled rifle, as defined in Section 12020.

I certainly hope i’m missing something…

i can remember back in the day say 1970 when everybody was putting ammo in the ground due to a ammo scare. i suppose some is still in the ground. me ive just been slowwly stocking up on bullet molds, primers, powder, brass etc. if bahama, clinton, bradys decide to shut us down i will be able to shoot for a long time. guns ? did someone say guns? oh hell i sold all my guns years ago at least the ones that were not stolen!!! to all the people that voted democratic- be careful what you wish for. just my .02 shoot straight and shoot often- take care of our shooting sports and a happy new year kingpin

I hate those cars, absolute crap on wheels!!! 👿

That sounds like a crime gone right…LOL.

If the car jacker used a tire iron or baseball bat it would have gone much worse.

Nice car though 😛

Best to have a liberal(s) get mugged & beaten in a high crime area. See what they have to say then. 😉

That is the best way to get more bans on weapons passed…

Check this out…

This fucking retard was driving around with 22″ rims (bought with taxpayers money) in Oakland. I bet he did this to get car jacked so he could fuck with law abiding gun owners and make the world less safe for the most of us…

He has a gun and a CCWP…

Hmm another fucking hypocritical democrat… Gee who would have thunk it!

Best to have a liberal(s) get mugged & beaten in a high crime area. See what they have to say then. 😉

You chaps need to fight that shit fast and real hard, before you go the way of this toilet (the UK). We can’t even buy replica Samurai swords anymore, they banned them. They like banning stuff here, it’s the answer to everything.

NRA Life Member here (I got the jacket when I got the life membership and it’s a pretty good jacket BTW).

I hope the states don’t pass these stupid laws but some will no doubt. Mostly the ones that are run by people who see the world as they want to see it instead of how it is… oh, they have a much better handle on what is good for you than you do too!

On the federal level we may actually be better off with Obama in office than we would have been with McCain. I say that not because I believe Obama has any real respect for the second amendment (he says he does but his voting record says otherwise) but because republicans in Congress will have no reason not to oppose any liberal anti-gun legislation. With McCain in office they would have felt pressure to support him when (if) he had agreed to any “reasonable” compromises with the liberal left anti-gun crowd. Given McCains’ record of compromise with very liberal positions on several occasions, I’m thinking we may be better off as gun owners than we think. Yes I know the NRA supported McCain in the end but they had to swallow hard to do it. I don’t think the far left can get enough votes to overcome a filibuster on bad gun legislation even if the democrats get to 60 in the Senate. CA and North Eastern democrats might be safe no matter what they do but Southern and Western democrats won’t survive going after guns and they know it.

It’s not time to panic yet but if you shoot, you should join the NRA and you should fight this and any stupid legislation in your home state.

Rant over!

It does’nt matter if they pass this on the law abiding citezens or not, becasue the bad guys will still have un-traceable amo. all of this is a crock of shit to put more money in the hands of the wrong people. check out your local state government. it is under consideration in 18 states right now.. Keep in mind that Brady was shot when President Reagan was in office. Look long it took his wife to find someone to support her.. Also notice that that bill did not pass a second time..by the way i just re-gistered with the NRA as well

Well, Clinton tried to do something like “10 round mags are less dangerous then high capacity mags..” What a crap. Didn’t really work as you all know.

God help Obama, but one thing he need not touch is my guns and ammo.

I got close to 5,000 AK-47 rounds, so bring it on! 😀

What sais you now ELSOLO? Maybe i was wrong for saying “CALIFORNIA” but i was kinda generalizing. I know what i see when i am in the gun store my friend. But still the fact remains that in certain parts of the city of LA, a thumbprint is required.

quote SteveinLA:

The City of Los Angeles requires that a thumbprint and type of ammo purchased, and the buyers name and address be placed in a book that others can look at. This insanity doesn’t apply to ammo sales in L.A. County.

You claimed that CA state has that law, and possibly other states; that is incorrect.

“kinda generalizing” doesn’t work when discussing specific laws

There is no CA state law for giving a fingerprint to buy ammo, never has been.
It is very easy to avoid buying ammo in Los Angeles city, very difficult to go to AZ or NV to buy.

You can’t buy a pocket pistol in the city of Reseda, but that has nothing to do with the price of tea in China either.

quote shrpshotr28:

read back a little on the ACS and the guys who started pushing the legislation are a couple individuals that have patented the process of laser engraving the bases of the bullets.

I would like to see that number survive on varmint bullets, or even some hunting bullets.

I have been a NRA member for the last 4 days after letting it slip 1 year. Of all the people who thought of it, my wife bought me the membership… again.

I married a good one.

The motorcycle comment.
I was over 21 so did a direct access so I could ride what I wanted when I passed the test but its about to change to something like you have writen.

I agree the the government have odd ways of doing things in our ‘best’ interest and I find it extreamly stressful that they think they will solve problems with laws.

I do not agree with their thought process as I think that any one that puts their mind to something will eventually reach their goal, whatever that be.

The thing I tried to put across is that buying ammo is not too bad. But and this is a big but. If that is the only regulation it is not such a bad one.

Think about this.

If prostitution was ligal we would not want to see it in our neighbourhood but how many sexual attacks would be avoided if sex was so easy to find…

Somtimes the government does what it has to under the pressure of the population. Maybe this regulation might be the minimum it could do to keep the population quiet while giving you the freedom you want.

Us motorcyclists in the uk are targeted for being the minority so more often then not we lose. Not to mention all the dickheads trying to wrap us in cottonwool so we don’t get hurt.

My life my choice. Yer right, maybe 100 years ago.

Dont be a rider be a driver. Join a union create a voice and be heard.

I don’t think you should lose your rights but ammo counting is not too bad is it?
