Q:

Ammunition accountability act

This was just forwarded to me. Hope all of you that voted for osama are happy, because this is going to suck if it goes through.

quote :

Ammunition Accountability Act
Did you know anything about this, Alabama is one of the states mentioned. The gun control liberals got a setback when the Supreme Court upheld the 2nd amendment rights in Wash. DC. Now they are trying to come thru the back door. Please forward this to all you know that want to keep their guns!!!! Maybe we can start a ground swell, or continue it at least, that will go all over the U.S. and have a positive impact on the outcome.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a database of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held un-coded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011.(Including hand loaded ammo.)

They will also charge a.05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo then they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

Morning guys.
Being from the other side of the pond I am held by all sorts of rules and regulations already. Air rifles cannot exceed 12 foot pound or about 16 joules… it is every mans right to own a shot gun but even still you must apply for a licence before being able to buy one and when you do get one it must be stored in a very secure locker which is to be inspected by the local fire arms office.
If you want a rifle you need permission to shoot on enough land that the ammunition will not cause harm to anyone that might be within range and it is even harder to get a licence for one of these.
On top of that licences are reviewed every year. If you have criminal convictions getting a licence is harder but if you have done 3 years in prison you are not allowed any type of rifle air powered or live.
There are limits to how much ammo you are allowed to store and if you have too much it is a problem.
I hope you are not in an uphill climb against this type of licensing. There is loads of gun crime in the UK just like the rest of the world but I do not think these regulations will help stop a determined individual. If someone wants to go out and shoot someone buying a rifle is not the only way forward. Look on the internet and there are instructions on how to build all sorts of things from bombs to hand guns.
I do not condone owning weapons for the sake of look what I have but I do not see the problem with shooting for food and or pest control.
If it is only ammo counting that your selected stats are wanting to conduct and it has the desired effect of preventing the occasional school slaughter or something like what has happened in India only some weeks ago then it must be worth it???
I understand that many of you will be angered by what I have written here but I am sure many of you make your own ammo so you avoid this issue (not sure of the legalities here) and a trip to the local dealer can’t be such a bad thing. If the closest one is some miles away from a thriving shooting community they why not start a ammo supply shop in your town???

Yup, as I said, this is an old idea. It started before Ford or Barry Obama were even born. And it’s unlikley to go away.

Still, it takes a Liberal to support (sign) such tripe, and we’ve just elected the most Liberal man in the Senate. Our enemies no doubt see tha chance they’ve been waiting for.

It’s time to close ranks, look sharp and protect that which is dear.

Seriously, you guys think this comes from Obama? Talk about sheep! Probably the same people that blame George W. for having to pay $4.50 a gal. for gas last summer. Sorry, things aren’t that simple guys.

Follow the link in DKOWENS post above to the NRA interview of Russ Ford, the owner of the company that has the patent and is pushing the legislation on for his own profit. Thanks for the link DK, very informative.

After hearing this simpleton’s interview (Russ Ford) I doubt he is smart enough to have applied for the patent much less had a hand in drafting the legislation, smells of “special interest group” to me. That’s who you really need to be afraid of, not whoever happens be president!

On a positive note I am proud to say that House Bill 2833 (the legislation proposing ACT) has died on the senate floor of my great state of Arizona!!! Gotta love living in the wild wild west! And with that said, I have left to say is……..

FU(k EM!!!!………whoever they are.

Good point.

Please note, the largest organized assault on RKBA in our times (’68 GCA) came from the watch of LBJ, another Donkey Party stalward.

Taking away folks guns is just not a Republican or Conservative idea. It calls for a Liberal seems like. It was after all Bill Clinton dancing with Sarah Brady, right?

Doug Owen

It may have been in the works before this but was it made into law during those administrations? Obama may not have written the bill but Im willing to be he already has his pen warmed up if it crosses his desk.

Yay change.

OK, COME ON all u OBAMA HATERS, i heard about this stuff 1.5-2 years ago from the gun store that i buy my guns from. They were saying that there were talks about putting serial numbers on ammo so it can be traced back to the buyer. This was way b4 OSAMA. Don’t think OSAMA created the bill. Think its al the ones in office b4 him. You guys gotta remember that most laws that come out have been in the works for years. Some just take a while to pass. Hell, here in California we get thumbprinted when you buy ammo (probably other states do to). That all leads to other things such as this.

Thats why i am glad that i been reloading for the last 15 yrs+. But they will find away to fuck reloaders soon enough.

and yes….i’m currently a NRA member and have been for years.

This thread makes me think of Triggerman’s friend who bought 86,000 rounds of .22 lr from Walmart. He may have the last laugh yet.

Happy new Year guys! πŸ˜€

Hey, no laughing about it. If this goes South, he won’t be thinking of laughing, crying maybe at having to turn all that ammo in for no compensation. Or maybe he’ll just be too busy trying to stay hidden and keep his criminal activities secret from friends, family, strangers…… For sure he won’t be shooting that contraband ammo at the range.

Time to get it right, friends and neighbors. A great resolution for the New Year seems to me. Let’s build on the DC victory. It’s easy enough to do:

Since I’m a Lifer (Life Member for a long long time), I think I’m going to give a gift membership to a new shooter I know.

As Ben Franklin advised, ‘we must hang together, or we will surely hang separately’. The other side is counting on our inaction, let’s disappoint them.

JOIN THE NRA!!! πŸ˜€

It cannot be overstated enough…shut up and join! πŸ˜‰ The NRA is the only reason that we enjoy the firearms rights that we do have. They would have been taken away years ago if it weren’t for the NRA. Read the journal section of the NRA’s magazines, The American Rifleman and The American Hunter, then decide for yourself. I think that you will agree that the media has greatly maligned this great organization, (gee what a surprise that the newsies would lie to us yet again).

Ya alright, I’ll get off of my soap box 😳

This thread makes me think of Triggerman’s friend who bought 86,000 rounds of .22 lr from Walmart. He may have the last laugh yet.

Happy new Year guys! πŸ˜€

This is hardly a new scheme, in fact it predates Obama by about 80 years. It has seen ‘new life’ because a company claims to have developed the technology and is looking for manditory customers.

As in all gun rights cases, the NRA is on top of it. You can read a bit about what’s going on at:
http://www.nraila.org/Issues/FactSheets/Read.aspx?id=227&issue=005

The current round of ‘scare warnings’ are nothing but a stunt to raise money by folks like GOA. I’m sure there is a plea for money attached to the message. These guys can only survive if they scare you, and lie to you saying that ‘the NRA isn’t doing enough’ for you.

Let me ask again (I do this often) how many of you are not NRA members? No matter what your excuse for not joining, you’re basically helping the gun grabbers. Think about who has the history of protecting your rights. Join, stay informed, you’ll be told what’s going on and what to do.

Membership numbers is what gives the NRA the power it needs to protect all shooters. Four million motivated, voting members speaks to Politicians in the only language they understand (aside from bribes, of course….) Get over your ‘bad experiences’ with the NRA, don’t hide behind ‘I don’t want my name on any lists’ and other BS. You can’t really afford to let others carry the ball for you on this.

Join the NRA. Encourage the other shooters you know to do likewise. Rethink those other gun rights groups that are ‘better’. Consider they are not working with the NRA, which generally means they’re working against it…..and your best interests.

Doug Owen

How would that work?

Is the brass stamped with a serial number?

How could you encode the bullet?

The guy doing the drive by, would get identified by serial numbers on the brass? He would need to collect the brass, or use a revolver.

I believe explosives are “marked” for identification (even after they go boom).

.05 per round is huge compaired to .02 per round for .22lr !!

Mark

Goddamn good for nothing gun banning liberal morons are taking over our country and trying to turn us into a socialist state, step by step. They act as if we are no longer capable of governing our own lives, and that we need the intercession of big brother. They have no respect for the Constitution or any law that stands in the way of their misguided goal of government controlled harmony. Seeing such audacious and defiant legislation such as this makes me cringe, the sheer nerve of these attempts to take away our arms shows that our leaders are not capable of defending the Constitution or the interests of the populace.
Are these people not capable of abstract thought? Crime will never go down from restricting guns, it is human nature to be violent and cruel, wether it be with a gun or a pointy stick. Liberals do not seem to understand that socialism and omnipotent governance do not work, and that the best government is BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE.

These pandering spineless bureaucrats should know this famous quote from Benjamin Franklin, as it fits their mindset and actions perfectly:

“The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either.” -Benjamin Franklin

I am totally going to start stocking up on ammo… What fools!!

Well that’s a fucked up nightmare coming down the road. I’m happy to see my state is not highlighted, but probably won’t be long. Hope all the Obama supporters are happy. Let’s give the fuckin moral minority all the apples, and see how they hand em out. I figured out the problem, there are just too many sheep in this here flock we call americans. Blissfully chewing their cud. Most probably think it’s a great idea. I’m sure the gangsters they are afraid of will immediatly turn in that old box of shells they were savin for the next drive by. Only people it will affect are you and me that will pay more for a worthless cause. Sounds about right.

Already started reloading, save that brass @!!!
I even save my used pellets.
I believe we are in a world of hate come the next year or so.
People I have talked to have stated everyone is hoarding ammo @ the gun shows!!
Let us pray pellets don’t come in to the mix.
Went to Wally Mart, not much to chose from ?
Big line to purchase ammo.
I don’t know kinda scary.
