Another Importer of Raptor Compressor
Good find Jamie! $1000 plus shipping makes this more viable. They appear identical but w/o the Raptor name and packaging on them and an $800 markup. It appears he gets up to the 20 min factory order and then orders them direct. AOA won’t be able to get a monopoly from China.

So a US importer is also the repair facility for the year warranty? If that is true and the units turn out to be fairly reliable than the choice will be much easier.
I agree with you. Your gonna have to email Todd and ask him…. pic his brain and post what you find out. come up with a bunch but i don’t wanna be a middle man and possibly provide false info. but i would like to hear more about it also
Jamie,

Raptor pneumatics is the sole importer of this type of compressor. Not sure on a lot of the details along the way ….. but what it boils down to, they signed contracts with the manufacture and put a lot of money time and effort into taking what i was looking at and they made it into the raptor.
so the raptor is a better unit. and they have a 1 year warranty. read here for some more info http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1390944819/Specs+and+info+on+RAPTOR++compressor
One of the most important factor in production of hpa that’s breathable is having an oil less compressor. Not sure if raptor is oil less

so just to be sure. Dman, you will NOT be importing any of these compressors? your thought is the raptor is the best deal out there right now vs what you could import?
Ok im gonna go ahead and pass the torch… this stuff should really be answered by the source
If anyone has anything they want to ask about the RAPTOR compressors Please email Todd DeOrio He is the Vice President of Raptor Pneumatics. His email is toddd9803@gmail.com

If you do contact him Please post your questions and responses here so that we can all learn more about this compressor, the company, its parts and service practices….
For what it’s worth:
Air Quality for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Air-Line Respirators http://www.lni.wa.gov/wisha/rules/respirators/PDFs/200.pdf
I believe there is more to just removing the moisture from the air to make it breathable air.
This unit is not designed for divers. Raptor pneumatics revamped the design to tailor it to air gunners. ….
Airguns require significantly less moisture than breathable air. Medical compressors even run the air through water to increase the moisture.
I agree seems the raptor is going to be a great alternative to the freedom 8. However would be nice to know what the moisture content is on the air comming out of the raptor. I know it does have a moisture trap, but have read it is not “breathable air”. I don’t know if this because the company did not want to go thru the process of having it certified or because the air comming out has to much moisture to meet the requirements. Hopefully we will see some post before long addressing this.
I got the F8 too… but i don’t have a output moisture filter on the 4500 psi side.
That is where the Raptor Takes the LEAD.
Yes there is a whole slew of other goodies to boot, but the output moister filter is a biggie in my book.
No manufacture offers a complete package ready to go, plug it in and fill. At that price point. 1750.00 from AOA.
If i bought that output filter from Joe B i would be over that price if you factor in all the cost associated with combining the F8 and comp and filters.
My F8 my be on the auction block here real quick…
Now don’t get me wrong the F8 does the job its designed for and it does it well great product and a great customer service to boot.
I got the F8 shoebox and a Rolair compressor to feed it and both run more than quiet enough that they run here in the shop with me as I work without being annoying.
I have a original Shoebox and it is loud and slow but works well with a 30″ desiccant water filter on it.
I know I would be wise to wait 6 months or so to see how it holds up, but its hard not to take the plunge. I am tired of driving 50 min one way to only get a 4200 psi fill on my 4500 psi 88 tank.
I agree, hopefully reports good or bad will start poping up, I am ancience to see.
