Another Importer of Raptor Compressor
Good find Jamie! $1000 plus shipping makes this more viable. They appear identical but w/o the Raptor name and packaging on them and an $800 markup. It appears he gets up to the 20 min factory order and then orders them direct. AOA won’t be able to get a monopoly from China.

That’s why I have not went the shoe box route. I live in a very humid area and I just don’t want to add any moisture to the inside of my airguns. I don’t care about any certificate, I am wanting to make sure before I take the plunge that I am not damaging my airguns. Do you feel like the air quality if the raptor is equal to the Bauer compressors?
Not sure why you care about the breathing air certification but the Raptor already has a moisture reducer. That is a big issue with the Shoeboxes. Without major moisture reduction filters added the Shoebox tend to accumulate moisture in the pistons which is evident when you rebuild them.
I know very little about compressors, hopefully someone can help me out here. What would have to be added to the raptor compressor to make the air output “breathing air quality”? Like the high dollar compressors offers. Approximately how much would this added device cost? I am very interested in this unit but don’t want to add any more moisture than have to, in my airguns.
Man to hell with that. He needs to drop the price. I mean we are the customers. Come on guys!!!!
I will wait until some of the hard core shooters get a few hundred hours on them to see how they do. :biggrinn: I already have my Shoebox sold once I decide to get one but I may keep it as a backup for a while. 😉
I think they will do well.
From my email contact with them they seem like they’re backing the product 100% and i don’t see an issue as far as parts/service or warranty. I believe they maybe a new company that took what todd travis was selling for 1000$ and made it into a reliable PCP compressor with all the bells and whistles at completive price. i think AOA has them at $1750.00…. thats it nothing else to buy plug it in and fill.

Tom has already commented that he knows they may cause him some real trouble for the F8s.
Any word on parts availability and support?
Shoebox if you’re listening, lower the price to the following:
Freedom 8: $800
Max: $500
The shoe box fills a nitch at a lower cost and does it well. not everyone has 1800 up front and those are the ones that will go with the shoebox. others that are more serious and don’t want to step up to a full compressor probably will go the raptor route
Shoebox is in some serious do-do! We now have the Raptor, an American company, offering a new and vastly superior compressor at an affordable price. Shoebox is going to have to discount the Freedom 8 model or they aren’t going to sell! The Shoebox Max is safe since the price is still low, but I still prefer it to be around $500.

After some looking into this further it looking like them raptors don’t seem to bad price wise…. well if you spend the 1200 on an F8 then another 100 on a compressor + 50 for the pre filter
then another say 400 your already at 1750. why not just go for the raptor. + its all in one package. here is some more info i stumbled upon

Importing those other ones is not gonna happen… plus they wouldn’t have a warranty so. not really worth it at all.
Good deal. 😎
I’m looking forward to seeing the results of your testing. I would be interested.
well the supplier I’m dealing with is willing to ship me one unit for testing so… I’m going to get the first one. see how the shipping /importing gig works out. then i shall put in the order for more…

I have not seen the specs on the level of moisture yet. The folks that have perfected the Raptor here have made a lot of US changes to the original Chinese design. Obviously, they still need the test of some time to determine reliability, etc. We basically need reports on this forum from those taking the early plunge. :biggrinn:
