Can the Taipan challenge the FX Impact at Extreme BR?

IN typical AGN fashion my post was edited over there. Some poster was saying his crown showed up with a broken barrel and was perturbed at spending high dollar only to have it shipped in a cardboard box and not a hard case. Then someone else states they don’t know of any manufacturer that ships with a hardcase so I posted a beautiful pic of a Vulcan with a hardcase. I would have loved to have posted a pic of TalonTunes packaged Vulcan but knew that’d be pushing it so it was just some random pic off the net. Well, it seems that they deleted my pic and claimed it was off-topic.

On a positive note for the crown they say it will be shipping in a hard case in future batches. Whether that was pre-planned or forced by the consumer is beyond me. But good that it will.

I didn’t see the news on the Evanix. I only skimmed over the results the other day. If it’s that semi-auto, then I’m impressed. Evanix is Korean, yes? Even the SnowPeak Chinese shit is coming out with decent quality on the cheap. I don’t know if it’ll get the higher end airguns to drop in price or not. I thought perhaps at first, but not so much anymore. There will always be a spot in the market for uber-high-priced airguns. Sadly I’ll probably never own one. Too many other hobbies. I think for me Taipan is as good as I’ll ever get and even that was a stretch for the wallet.

I say the same as you NP, it’s not me, it’s the gun. Like I said, I’m not that good a shot either. It’s the gun. That’s part of the reason the rules sorta sucked on the airgundepot golfball shit. ANYBODY can hit the ball once someone sets the gun up to do it. One dude had his wife hitting it after he set up his Bobcat and he hit it first, just to double their odds in the FX Impact drawing. I could have lined up friends and familly, who am I kidding, friend and family, to hit the ball after I set my airgun up at that distance.

Either way, I think you’re better off with the airgun sport of hunting rather than target shooting and have more fun whilst doing it. Instead of competing man to man or man to woman, it’s man vs beast. AAAAAnd, the reward can lead up to a nice feast. I’d much rather hunt than target practice or compete. We do have coyote season here, and I think it’s mostly year around but no dinner out of it so I’m not with that as I’ve got no land to protect. We do have javelina here and I’ve yet to research the in’s ‘n outs of hunting them in AZ. I’m not even sure if they allow airgun hunting or PB only. I did have a buddy who said we should look into night vision hunting but that’s a whole other level of cost at the moment. I do have a thermal cam, but it wasn’t designed for gun or airgun use, though I could rig something up but in no way can it compare to real NV or thermal gear.

Being you hunt often, that’s where you’ve got it made and really get to appreciate the airguns you do have. Your trophy is the one that graces the dinner plate.

Oh, no, I get what NP is saying and yes, it IS fair to those who want to go compete. Just like many RAW’s do. I was getting my panties in a wad over being told I’m making excuses. No, I just have no desire to go. Maybe he meant all the other comments. The only thing “skewed” is the competition event holders are biased, but not that they’ll stand over you and try to mad dog you or anything. LOL. Not like they control the weather or put your ass in a bad lane with the most wind if you shoot anything other than what they sell. In fact, didn’t I read someone mention the lanes are drawn? I think that’s pretty cool but it didn’t work out for, say, Ted as I read he got the shit end with lots of wind. All things equal, I’d assume perhaps someone else might have won over whomever did. I know that wind is a BITCH, but it does definitely separate the men from the boys.

But because I answered the fact that the Taipan CAN hold its own, I’m meeting resistance for not going to EBR to PROVE it. There’s simply no desire for me to do so and if anyone doesn’t believe it can compete, well then I think that would be just stirring the pot. I think NP knows it can keep up. And hell, all Mike keeps reiterating is the fact he would like to see the shit eatin’ grin on Ted’s face when/if he gets behind the trigger of one. Surely he’s a better shot than me, so I’d also like to see him behind one. Although he may or may not be straightforward with his thoughts and review. He didn’t give much love to the Edgun Leshiy. Many felt he was being biased due to being in bed with FX. I don’t know either way and I didn’t read too much into it as I don’t own an Edgun or have any stake in them.

It remains fact that EBR is primarily a marketing event for AOA/FX. No tissues needed as it’s their money they invest so it’s their choice. You’d think I’d be all over AOA’s nuts being I’m close to them but I hope I don’t ever end up having to purchase anything from them. Not unless I see their customer service has risen a notch. Probably not anytime soon as I still read of bad service. Not the worst service in the world, but not up to my standards. I dont’ even care to go to EBR next year either, not to “prove” the Taipan worthy or otherwise. I’ll only want to go if NP decides to meet me there and compete alongside me.

Just as many love/loved the WAR’s offerings, do you think any of them can challenge at EBR? Or the Evols? I know the Evols can as one or two of them did when I read about it earlier. And just from NP’s OPINION on the Evols I pretty much assume they would be able to compete as well. I don’t need to call him out as he usually knows what he’s talking about. But if I am to be called out, then don’t just hand me tissues, come compete against me. Hell, maybe we could even set up some gay ass online shootout between the two of us. I’d be down. We could frame it around the rules of EBR. You can have AAA or any other manufacturer give you a free gun to shoot and I’ll compete with you. Set that up :8:

In keeping up with this post I have to admit that NP has a valid point, the Airgun and shooter will prevail. While I believe that FX and AOA are connected, as pointed out in various posts, the question remains are other manufacturers or owners willing to enter the arena? Manufacturers could get hired shooters or shooters could go and get hired by manufacturers to promote their products; seems to be the process? Think about Ted and Matt, prior to aligning with manufactures they simply created opportunity with theirs vids, then aligned with manufactures seeking promotion. Makes sense…. Hire people who are using their products successfully. So the question remains… Who is willing or has the desire to enter the arena… To prove other manufactures are making quality airguns? Most of us have other careers that are our main focus an living, it really is that simple. Most of us are just users and not promoters. Really the business space is wide opens for other manufactures to enter….theireis nothing but air and opportunity! For me…while my shooting is adequate for what I do, hunting, I do not have the desire or opportunity. Or better said… I have the opportunity, because I recognize the opportunity but am unwilling to put forth the effort. :2cents:

Edguns win matches against FX frequently in Europe. Some of the matches are even posted on here. What are you talking about? This match is just advertising by FX and AOA and not independent as you claim. No complaining – just calling a spade a spade. 😉
