Q:

Can the Taipan challenge the FX Impact at Extreme BR?

what do you think?

last year’s champion posted a video of his tight 10 shot groups with his Impact at 100y as part of his preparation in defending his title.

Yawn. Quite the advertisement.

Nearly 20 FX’s competed and an FX won. :sadn:

.25 crown was first and a .25 impact was second with no mention of third place 😉

BTW, there existed a Taipan at EBR, but I don’t know if the owner competed or not or was just there as a spectator. I don’t know if they allowed folks to just walk around with airguns if not competing.

In fact, like NP mentions, who gives a shit about punching paper. Me, Ted and NP can go head to head and it won’t matter. But HUNTING, I’ll take a back seat to NP as he knows his shot placement and all the other aspects to hunting, up to and including knowing the animal’s tendencies and such. Hunting I will not compete with NP. :winkn:

As far as my excuses, I am not on anyone’s payroll. I don’t sell Taipans. Part of me likes the fact they aren’t as mainstream or else everyone would be kicking much ass with them. I give props to those who join the EBR. Takes dedication I don’t have nor want to have.

Where I WILL agree with my fellow chaps is that it would be nice to see Taipan not be the ugly red-headed stepchild in the minds of other brands’ fainbois and you know with the mass marketing in place that is the mindset that takes place.

Sure, I’d own an FX if I came across one on the super-cheap. No issues saying one is much better than the other. But where I walk the walk vs talk the talk is things I can do on my own time, such as the golfball challenge. I do believe I got Taipan into the limelight. And hell, I’m not even that great of a shot and admit anyone with my setup could have accomplished the same. Am I better than Ted or the South African fella or even the Tom dude “Tominco”? Perhaps not. Perhaps not even close. But I think the “motivation” in this thread is and always has been/always will be more a battle over the marketing tactic…which is simply business. Business that works!

I say say I’d go toe to toe with anyone. Fuck if I win or lose, but I’ll do it. I personally just don’t give a shit about going to EBR where favoritism is already askew due in part by the aforementioned marketers. And I’ve always hated structured events. Hell, I even refuse to blow off rounds through the ‘ole AR or Shotgun at a gun range as I prefer being with friends and family in the desert where I can take along my own targets, gongs and othewise, then pack up and leave as late as I want.

If anyone is to call me personally out as chicken, be it known it’s not the competitors that scare me, it’s the structured event that got me pissin’ in my pants. And on that note, kudos even more to those who do attend and compete in it. :8:

Something like 75% used FX guns last year for the main match. That competition is bought and paid for. 😛

What equipment were the winners using this year?

Yea, wished I could have made it. I do think a Bullpup is a little disadvantage over a long gun, I was so hoping more Crickets and Veterans would be in the mix, Even a few Marauders .
Dam straight Pirate, I would do a lot more things if my dam insurance would buy me one of those small portable 02 machines you toss on your shoulder,
Its not the weight of my machine that bothers me , Its looking for a AC outlet that pisses me off, Yea, I got a generator but the combined weight is close to 400 lbs, even a guy my size gets a little winded on that kind of weight.
I think R&L has a shoot out has one that is not so AOA, Heavy,
Yea, Yea, I am pissing and moaning, My gun is better than yours ,
Mike

Really ??? …no FX, AOA, AirgunNation fan here but this kind of whining is pretty sad.

The contest is open to anyone, the paper targets are the same for enveryone, the shooting is done at the same time with everybody watching …….so don’t give me all this fucking soppy excuses,

You have a gun you think can stand up to those ?
enter the contest and prove it
,….I don’t give a flying fuck about target shooting but if other guns/shooters don’t go out there and prove it in the field and just keep saying their guns are better but can’t compete because of a boatload of stupid excuses then I have to laugh

Shane Kellar, 1st.

Matt Dubber, 2nd.

Third ? possibly a non AOA employee.

Those are the Top 10 that made it to the finals and last I heard was possibly Final was 1st Shane Kellar, Matt D. 2nd, … I have no clue what rifles being used other than Ted was using his Impact.

quote RONIN001:

They will take a win with any FX but this year they have passed out the new rifle to there leaders. Im pretty sure they want and would love for the FX Crown to take the glory this year.

I am curious if TED is using his Impact or the Crown they sent him. In the end he is a competitor and wants to win 10,000 pellets with the impact or maybe a thousand with the Crown…. which one??

Ted Bier is leading the pack… it seems he is going to successfully defend his crown.. with his Impact

I am sorry, if a Veteran or Mutant placed in the top of Extreme BR,
Lots of people would lose there jobs, Lots of money would be lost from AOA , Sales would go down etc etc,
I am not going to say the shoot out is rigged, But its leaned very far to the right to favor the FX line. So what, They got family’s to feed!!!
Who can blame the big people this is big money for them. Its just the way it works, suck it up.
You want a fair shoot out, Start one of your own,
I would donate a few bucks to something like that…
Mike

Two reasons I didn’t go take my Taipan Vet .25 on a 2 hour road trip to Phoenix is #1, I’m lazy. #2, I didn’t want any BS AOA “hate” sent my direction.

I may still go up on Saturday and meet up with another member from here or two. But yeah, it’s an AOA FX fuckfest. I know there will be other guns but in the end it’s not the shooter they want to win but rather a shooter with a gun that they sell and keep in their inventory.
