Collection of Condor results with the new Blodnob valve
Fellas, could you post your results with the new Blodnob valve?
Interested to see the numbers collected all in one thread.
So anyone have info to share please post 🙂

A year with my blod valve and spring and the trigger group is still all good….
Yes, I also want to see some results. I wonder how long the trigger mechanism will live with the stronger hammer spring installed. I have a standard spring in my condor which is enough for producing 95 Fpe with 32gr samyangs. I did have a stronger spring for only a short time but it had already ruined my breech knob. So I really wonder when the guys who have installed the stiffer spring will feel sorry ….

Thanks pab and jerry that cleared most of it up for me 🙂
I think the biggest reason to have the powerwheel is to be able to make large changes to set-up. With a large enough change in pre-load you ought to be able to set the gun up for a low power condition and also a high power condition. This message brought to you as an unpaid advert for Surefire Casting… 😆
As an aside, I would think that a large valve that flows well at small openings would be ideal for this. After all, the valve is at a small opening twice for every time it goes to max open on any given shot.
Knife can help me out with this as the observation comes from race engine valve work. Most intake valves will flow OK at .5″or greater lift but that is not a big deal as the valve spends a lot more time at half the max lift. If the porting is no good at low lift than great flow at high lift won’t buy near as much as you would expect. There are other factors of course, but for racing and maximum performance, you don’t ignore any factor.
FF, this was an early shot string, too much overall fps so never really shot this set up much. I’ve tuned down to 980-950 over 20 shots and no POI deviation.
Powerwheel… If you want to use the Blod/Selph valve AND the power wheel, you are gonna need to source a new mainspring as the one supplied with the valve is too big. Lots of guys don’t use the powerwheel much as I understand. Even Tony Tunes will set the gun up then tell you not to mess with the power wheel… So why have it? I have a power set up and a quiet set up. This requires a 5 min swap out of hammer and spacers and gives consistant results.
But if you are getting the results you want with your current rig, why mess with it ?? 😉
46 gram hammer, proper spacing.
TP at 2mm
2700psi fill.
This set up is EASY to cock…..

End pressure was 2000psi
This was tuned down… 😮
Much more power avalible if you want to shoot the really big stuff..(100fpe is easy to attain…)
ITS A GOOD VALVE, YOU JUST GOTTA KNOW HOW TO SET IT UP 😉 😉
Hey pab I have been kicking the blodknob idea around and I see the largest spread was 70 fps, does that affect your POI? and is the blodknob mainly provide more power with some loss of accuracy?
By removing the power wheel doesn’t that take away some of the great features that the condor offers? I can turn mine down to level 2 with the shroud and vented bushing and the only noise I hear is the hammer and would it take some of the stealth from the rifle? my neighbors have no idea what just happened when I take a varmint down in my yard.
I am only asking so I can make an informed decision about this mod not to be a wiseguy.
I just don’t want to make the rifle 1 dimensional without having to change out a valve, spacers, and power wheel. Thanks in advance pab.
Look, some of you have great valves with a spring that is inappropriate for your guns as your guns have a PW that the designed for gun didn’t have.
Granted, cutting the spring will increase spring rate; it will also reduce pre-load.
Since some of you have a shit spring, what difference does it make if you hack that spring up? You might as well start cutting coils or half coils off of it and see how it works. What’s the worst that can happen, the first go doesn’t yield a spectacular result? Maybe no configuration of that particular wire wound as is will ever be worth a poop but so what? You need a new spring anyhow, might as well try a few things out!
good advice Jerry.
Get them numbers coming 🙂

Agreed. Cut the damn spring and figure out what you need. Then contact Century Spring and buy one.
So, we digress….

Pab Wrote-(old English proverb!)
Rob Peter to pay Paul.
You guys (Brit’s) crack me up. King James only had the bible re-written. He didn’t originate it! Nor did the Brit’s invent it. 😆
It comes from ancient Jewish text, centuries before anyone ever heard of Great Brittan. 😯 😉
And yes. cuttng a spring will change its dynamics.

Should be, but don’t forget these are un regualted guns so you are always playing a balancing act, things are constantly shifting…
I know my blod valve well enough that I shoot my shots until I know the fps should start to drop, then I give the tophat a twist out by two turns and it gives me roughly another ten shots at the desired fps 8)
The more you play with the set up the more you learn.
Pab has a sweet shot string so be good to try this.
Would there be any increase in shot string or consistency?
I only use 50 odd grams, and that puts 31 grains at 975 fps 😯
You would have to turn the spring WAY down, I when the spring is that relaxed I personally find the consistancy goes to shit..Seems a spring only works consistantly when under a given pre-load ??
What about turning the TH setting waaaay down?
I only have 2mm of tophat showing…….
Could try 2mm,stock spring, and light hammer.. PW low and work your way up. That would probably do it.
And about 2400-2500psi fill.
