Yes, you use a weaker spring and lighter hammer. With my design you can also use a specific collar. My rifle is currently at 9fpe.
What weight would you recommend?
I only use 50 odd grams, and that puts 31 grains at 975 fps 😯
You would have to turn the spring WAY down, I when the spring is that relaxed I personally find the consistancy goes to shit..Seems a spring only works consistantly when under a given pre-load ??

Also you have to measure hammer length as this contributes….
Without going too radical, it is possible to get the valve to shoot under 45 fpe in a 24in .22 barrel? I am looking for a high consistency setup and my .22 barrel is deadly accurate.

so I’m starting to decipher there is a bit of a problem with the main springs, or could it be the top hat springs that are the culprit? if every thing is the same with brads as well as the main springs being used then perhaps playing with the t/h spring will help things out
It all makes sense, mostly. Looks some some spring selection is in order as I doubt many will be ripping out the power wheel.
The shorter the spring the less there is to fine-tune. All you’d achieve is a ruined spring.
Cutting back the spring and replacing more spacer.
Well lets take it much farther… Remove an inch and replace with spacer. Remove 4 inch and replace with spacer? Remove all but one inch and replace with spacer..
Spacer cannot replace spring action.. It may allow a good fit but you are robbing peter to pay paul (old English proverb!)
Mamcrackin, what the hell is the big deal, you get just as much attention with the regulated bulb job, I think this is an interesting topic, why do you think it is a show?
the only problem I have is that it seems you do not want people to have any info on these vales in a nice and easy place to read it, why is that?

What about turning the TH setting waaaay down?
