Q:

condor vs marauder

Can the condor in .22 cal shooting eun jin 28gr pellets at just over 1000fps
be as quiet as the marauder shooting kodiaks around 860fps and is it normal for the condor to have recoil with a 24″ barrel and shroud. Im a new condor owner and Im really not liking this gun, is it even worth getting used to? I love the awesome power but i must say that airforce quality control isnt the best the some parts on the gun just feel cheap. the top hat certainly be improved………………… Opinions appreciated

FYI – The Marauder groups posted on 7/2 were from the 22 cal.

The 25 cal Mrod can shoot circles around the 22 cal !

Ok Fella’s – Couldn’t resist 😀

Had to admit I lied !

This was from 47 yards not 50 and all 16 shots were NOT in the EXACT same hole…..one managed to float just a hair high right 😀

Marauder 25 cal – 25 gr JSB Exact Kings

Kawasaki – now you get me a big hog tied up and round up some of them big ole pythons – I am filling the cooler with ice cold beer and headed your way now 😀 😀 😀

PB Dime size groups at 50 yrds! Awsome! I use the talon tank and mine likes the low 900 fps also. What tank r u using???
Graf, Just wait till your barrel gets broke in, it will shoot even better,

Figured out something tonight, i have jsb groups that go from one hole to 1/2”. so i played with the velocity tonight. i really haven’t used the jsb’s much. mostly the cabela’s h.p. ,

I learned that the 18 g. jsb likes 900 to 930’s ,
and the 15.8 ‘s like it around 920 or so.

The 14.3 like around 970 and will shoot pretty good on up to 1000 fps. but open up in the low 900’s

Hi Everyone.

I have a .22 Marauder and just got a new condor yesterday. After spending a few hours shooting the condor at 25.50.100 yards. I can say the condor is more powerfull and accurate. The Marauder is powerful and accurate but. The condors groups are tigher and its not as heavy as the Marauder.

Rebolton59, Yes you do need to post proof what that mrod can do! I looked at your target on 7/2 and I did not see a 1 hole group at 10ft! You said you would put your mrod up against any 800.00 tuned condor, well I will take you up on that and spot you 10 yds! I live in Florida.

rbolton59 do you still have your 22 maurader , if so how do you compare it to the 25.

Well if a guy did not want to tinker or tune on his rifle , that would be right on rbolton59 , but i can get one hole groups at 50 yard, and i can turn my gun up to 1100 fps with 32 grain pellets shooting thru 2×4’s , and this has got to be close to the .25 power at Marauder velocity levels or better .

I have not tested accuracy much at the top power levels with the condor, it was shooting thru my back stop, all i can say is it was breaking the sound barrier with 32 grain Eugen’s and shooting 1/4” groups at 25 yards.

Or i can turn the condor down to 400 fps with a 14 grain pellet. for what i want to do the Marauder does not even come into the same picture .

My condor will always be the first gun i reach for.

I am glad you have a good Maurader, but better than a condor it is not. and it seems to take care of your needs nicely, I think if you wanted it to, the condor would have been a good gun for you ,

When i first bought the condor it was not shooting good, because i only had 14 grain pellets for it. I had to learn how to tune the gun.

If i would have had 18 grain Jsb or 21 grain Kodiaks it would have shot right out off the box.

I would like to have a maurader , and edgun and a few others but i am not rich. and i have too many other hobbies getiing in the way from going hog wild on any of my hobbies. guess i could sell a couple of motorcycles and buy a few things, put off building the boat motor and put money into guns,
Seems like my hobbie money is getting thinner and thinner in between taing care of house needs , kids needs, womens needs.

Hell i think i need help!

HEEEEEELP!!!!!!

No need to post anything further to prove to anyone what these Marauders can do.

Those that have them know exactly what I’m talking about.

All I can say is spend $ 469 bucks and try the 25 cal using JSB Exacts.

Quiet as a mouse – Dead on Accurate Right Out of the Box !!

Your Condor will soon become your back up rifle !

Thanks Kawasaki,

Its not stock by any means, i have done allot to it, but i did it my self, didn’t cost any money.

PB Looking very good for a stock condor! Got my vote!

OK , I don’t have a tuned 800 dollar condor ,
but i do have a 450 dollar condor i bought on clearance sale at Midway
Does this count,

with a 100.00 BSA 4×12 scope.that i already had

Here is a few 50 yard targets.

I shot this 38 shot group pretty much as quick as i could load it.and aiming at the same spot each time. i could tighten this up allot if i compensated for the pressure drop, i pretty much know where my point of impact starts at, and were it moves after x amount of shots.

This is a 50 shot string , for the velocity that i am tuned for right now.this goes with target #4 i may have shot more than 50 ,

I have not had the chance to shoot 100 much , i shot like 3 groups at the range when i was shooting my powder stuff when the wind would die down, and me and my son were having a ball knocking around coke cans at 100 yards , off the bench you just dont miss a coke size target with this gun much .and it has enought energy to knock it around prettty good.
Its pretty neat to shoot off the bench with no ear plugs and at the shot (silent) you can count to like 2 before it hits. 🙂

this is what i was able to do with it so far, the other groups were about the same, except this one has 3 shots in one hole, 😯 , they were consecutive too. be cool if it would do this every time.

These targets were shot with out refilling in between groups showing the good groups with the not so good groups as the pressure changes , i can get better consistency with filling after about 10 or 15 shots to keep at my sweet spot on the pressure.

Now i am not trying to condemn the Marauder ,I think they are a good buy, accurate, and a dam nice looking,
i am just showing what i am able to do with the Condor. ( SO FAR,)

I Aint thru yet.

How do you sight in at 10 feet?

What kind of scope?

!0 shots in the same hole 40-50 yds, post your proof! and If so I will add a mrod to my tack driver collection!

The only reason I haven’t replied is because I got fed up with the Condor and sold the danged thing !!!!
Too much of a hassle for me.
POI would shift EVERY day when I went to shoot – AND NO THE SCOPE WAS NOT LOOSE – IT IS THE GUN !!!

Trigger is junk and I ain’t about to have it TUNED for 200 bucks to get it feel a fraction as good as the Marauder right out of the box !!!
Too many missed pests trying to figure out which dot – how far – HOLD OVER, HOLD UNDER – yadda – yadda – yadda !!!!

Sold it , bought another Marauder in 25 caliber and if I thought the 22 was accurate – the 25 cal is even BETTER !!!!!

Sighted dead on at ten feet – and it hits in that exact same hole the at 50 yards. Try that with a Condor – Not a prayer.

I’ll take anyone that wants to try their “tuned 800 dollar Condor” against my “out of the box 450 dollar” 25 cal Marauder any day !

This thing can put ten shots in the EXACT same hole at 40/50 yards EVERY time !

Don’t believe me – Buy one or borrow one and shoot it side by side with the Condor – Sand bagged it will out-shoot the Condor – And in the woods, there is just no comparsion !!!!!! No guessing yardage, no laser sites, no stickers on the scope or cheat sheets.
Just hold dead center and watch em fall !

Go take a look at the Marauder forums and watch em flipping prairie dogs over at 75 yards with the 25 cal – It too is a long range beast !!!

To Each His Own – You Love Your Guns – I Love Mine !
Just thank the Lord we live in a country where we can even do all this !
