condor vs marauder
Can the condor in .22 cal shooting eun jin 28gr pellets at just over 1000fps
be as quiet as the marauder shooting kodiaks around 860fps and is it normal for the condor to have recoil with a 24″ barrel and shroud. Im a new condor owner and Im really not liking this gun, is it even worth getting used to? I love the awesome power but i must say that airforce quality control isnt the best the some parts on the gun just feel cheap. the top hat certainly be improved………………… Opinions appreciated

I’ve had both rifles long enough now to give what I feel is a fair comparison.
Velocity – Condor – This thing can smoke em out there
Accuracy – Marauder – Everyone Start Screaming Now !
50 Yards with the Mar. using CP’s can smoke any
combination of pellet/pressure..etc on the condor – I’ve
tried the 24″ & 12″ barrels. Close but no cigar for the Condor
I feel trigger pull has a lot to do with this, and yes I am aware
that there are upgrades available to address this issue.
More on that later.
Price – Marauder – For around $ 500.00 you get a pretty impressive
rifle right out of the box that will stack em one right on top
of the other.
No having to pay someone to tune it up for you so you get
top notch performance.
The Marauder has a match grade adjustable trigger that is a
dream once adjusted to your liking and you pay nothing extra
for it.
The Condor’s trigger pales in comparison right out of the box.
Versatility – Condor – I love being able to switch from the 24″ and 12″
barrel for smacking game out in the field to plicking in the
backyard.
Too many way cool accessories to count that can really soup
this beast up any way you’d like.
Sound – Marauder – Right out of the box you get a super silent
weapon that is deadly accurate
I have both the TT and GTBJ shrouds for my Condor and LOVE
them both, but neither come close to the silent “thud” you get
from the Marauder.
Trajectory – Marauder – Site this thing in at 2″ low at 10 feet and you are
dead a$$ on EVERY time out to 50 yards. No hold over/under.
The Condor I still have trouble figuring out, never have come
close to figuring out. 4″ low at 10 feet puts me around 2″ high
at 50 yards. Hate having to deal with which mil-dot to use to
get dead on in hunting situations from 10 – 50 yards.
Sand- bagged the Condor is super – I can set up for whatever
yardage I want and drill em dead on all day.
But given hunting situations with almost every shot at an
unknown yardage, give me the Marauder. Just hold dead on
center every time !!
FINAL SAY – I LOVE THEM BOTH – IF YOU CAN SNEAK EM IN PAST THE WIFE, GET EM BOTH – YOU WILL LOVE EM !!!
NOTHING LIKE SLIPPING A 32 GRAIN EUN JIN IN A 24″ CONDOR BARREL AND WATCHING IT SMOKE A SQUIRREL OUT AROUND 75 YARDS.
THIS THING IS UNBELIEVABLE OUT AT THE LONGER DISTANCES !!!
MY POWER WHEEL DOES NOTHING ON THE CONDOR AND I WOULD LOVE TO DIAL IT DOWN FOR “RATTIN” IN THE NEIGHBORS BARNS.
THE MARAUDER ADJUSTMENT SETTINGS TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST/ CHRONY AND A BOATLOAD OF PELLETS TO FIGURE OUT EVEN USING THE “A-TEAM GUIDELINES” !!!! I JUST ENDING UP SETTING EVERYTHING WIDE A$$ OPEN AND LET EM RIP – EXCELLENT SHOT COUNT BUT NOT QUITE AS GOOD AS THE CONDOR.
BOTTOM LINE – I LOVE EM BOTH AND EACH HAS THEIR OWN PLACE AND PURPOSE !!!!!!
shoot some targets at 100 yards and see how you like it. I have several other air guns but would not give up my condor. I would like a daystate one day but $$$ too much for now. Not many air guns will keep up with the condor for groundhog hunting.

If your looking for just a simple out of box comparsion, Id say the Maruder is going to be more quiet because it comes with an internal baffle
The condor out of the box is pretty close to noise of a rimfire .22.
However , with a shroud in place my condor .22 at full power will sound about as loud a a dasiy red ryder.
I havent shot the marauder myself , but I think the condor with its Lothar Walter barrel and higher pressure will out shoot it at long ranges .
The advantages of the condor is its modular ability shooting 177, 20 22 25 .223 308 pellets differnt size tanks and co2 for hunting backyard or FT.
it can have a 12inch 14 inch 18 in 20 inc or 24 inch drop in barrels . so you can adapt your weapon for different needs .
it has a million after market parts like heavy hammers and larger valves to get maximum power . or shrouds . or Ar15 grips
Its more of system than other airgun out there . it does have it draw backs too.
But I really love mine .
oh and its extremely accurate
The two things I liked about the Mrod was the good balance point and the out of the box super quite shooting (no worries about Johny Law seeing a huge moderator like on the condor).

Shroud the Condor and you’ll be as quite as the already shrouded Mrod or to make it fair remove the Mrod shroud and then compare… Or wear earplugs with the Condor and take them out for the Mrod, that should do the trick… 😕
If you can get the Mrod to shoot those same pellets at the same speed as the Condor then I don’t see a reason to keep the Condor…
If you can easily slip a .25cal barrel into your Mrod in less than five minutes then chuck the Condor.
If you can collapse the Mrod down into a sub 30″ assembly then get rid of the Condor…
If you can swap out tanks in the Mrod in the field in under a minute and have a full tank to hunt with instead of going home to fill the fixed tank… The Condor is not for you…
Personally other than the multishot capability I see NO reason to keep the Mrod… 😯

It can be converted even to shoot arrows. VERY LOUD!!
pretty much everything already said, but the condor is very adjustable, you can tune the gun to the pellet very easily, vary velocity, change caliber, what ever you want.
. i have had mine down to 400 fps, with 14 g. pellets, and up to allmost 1400ffps.
and over a 1000fps with 32 grain pellets. and shooting thru a 2×4.
you tune the gun to a particular pellet for peak accuracy. Take the rws hollow point, shoot this pellet at 1000 fps and you are lucky to get 2” groups at 25 yards. but at 750 to 800 fps this pellet will shoot 1/4” to 1/2” at 50 yards.

You want to know if a Condor can shoot a EuJin at 62 fpe as quietly as a Maurader can at 34 fpe?. Given a big enough shroud yes it can.
Yes an airgun with a lot of power will recoil a bit.
Some parts of the Condor are cheap but can be upgraded such as the shoulder piece, trigger guard and grip.
Remember the Condor is a “Take down Rifle” and can be altered and modified like no other gun. Many of us have Mauraders, AA 410, Daystates, Rapids and Ed Guns, each fills a nitch.

Air guns are like a lot of other products (cars, audio equipment, whatever) in that there are various types that have advantages and disadvantages. If you want the most comfortable gun to shoulder or the quietest gun that hasn’t been tuned or worked on, the Condor probably isn’t for you.
With stock parts, the Condor is extremely accurate and powerful.
The ergonomics of the Condor could be improved. The Wokbutt and E-Tac help a lot with that.
Noise issues can be improved greatly with a quality shroud and with mods (click the Talon Tunes banner for examples). My Shrouded Condor is reasonably quiet when shooting 1050 or so and I don’t have any other mods. Are you sure you weren’t getting closer to supersonic?
Anyway, many of us love Condors for the power, accuracy and ability to customize. I agree that they probably aren’t as comfortable as many other rifles (at least out of the box), but unless you pay a lot more for a top quality air gun (Daystate, or the like — $1200+ vs. $700), you probably aren’t going to find a rifle with better overall capabilities.
