Cricket accuracy review

This is my first review and accuracy test on my cricket I got before Christmas. I did put a Synthetic stock and pod on it Friday and did some indoor shooting. I have gotten better shooting this as I’m a first time pup user. As you will notice which groups turned out the best were the last ones as they will speak for themselves. Test were done inside with decent light but my right eye had problems focusing but all in all I’m happy with the gun as it shoots great. Thanks Peter for the great sale! will leave you some feed back.
SO the smaller targets are at 50 and the bigger targets at 60 yards. I did shoot two 14 shot groups at 60 yards which will show a bigger hole in the target.
Hopefully link will work for you guys. Pictures of gun come first then the targets. Enjoy

You don’t know the half of it. The raccoons are the real problem around here. They are at war with me and the other neighbors and I have shot several hundred of them over the last 20 years (that’s really being conservative on the estimate). The problem is I live in the middle of their habitat with the woods and creeks and they want us out. 😯 :12:

You almost got your ass kicked by those Militant Squirrels. If the Woodpeckers team up with them Squirrels you´re in big trouble, young man. You have the Weaponry and all but do you have what it takes ? Do you ??

They love cedar and keep coming back. They issue a pest permit here so I can blast away at them even though they are protected and by God I do. They are evil. Sorry Woody. 😈 After many hours that knocking on the house really pisses me off. :angrymob:

Not the Woodpeckers too ??? You´ve soon declared War against the whole known Fauna in the neighborhood. You´ll indeed need a good Scope … May the Devil have mercy on your Soul. :darth-vader:

You bet. We did resolution tests on a lot of scopes and the expensive ones tend to be overrated. Months ago we had five of us test and compare a number of scopes and I included a 8-32×56 Hawke Sidewinder SR Pro against the lot. I have to admit the Sightron 10-50 was the best scope of the bunch but it was about $1100 yet I would love to have one but I got two Hawkes for that amount with a little left over. For clarity we used resolution grids at distance and everyone had to agree and what line we could see. They used a light meter for brightness. We tested all of the scopes at 20x and 24x for the ones that would go that high. as well. Now there are a few more anomaly’s with the less expensive scopes but nothing that would make me pay even $200 more for an expensive one to get a name brand. We compared Sightron, Zeiss, Bushnell Elite, Hawke, and a Leupold. We could not get the Falcon to test we wanted.

To make a very long story short my 8-32s are all set at 24x but that has to do with the SR Pro reticle as much as anything. Also, there are huge differences between the old and new Hawke scopes – even the SWs with some of the older ones being absolutely horrible. I would never buy a used Hawke because you might get stuck with one before the redesigns. The old Panoramas were terrible but the new ones rival the new Sidewinders.

Does the Sightron or Zeiss or Leupold out perform the Hawkes? Yes – but not nearly as much as you might think with the latest generation of Hawkes. Do the Elites? Not so much. Is it worth another $500+ for the slightly better scope. It depends. I have ten PCPs so it is a little less practical. If I was rich or had one FT gun and I was competing then you bet – I would go for the best glass I could afford. I can still see their whiskers in dim light at 100 yards with my 8-32×56 SWs. 😛

I am getting close to a .177 Compact Cricket purchase (waiting for the bonus :-)) and guess what scope its going to get? Actually, I may go to something lighter since it is my house hugging gun for the woodpeckers I fight.

I see you have a boatload of Hawke Scopes in your line up. Do you ever use any of them past 20X? Whats you opinion between the 6-20 and the 8-32

Chairgun has a mobile version for android and IOS. You could use those i’m sure it works just as good and it’s free. I can’t get it to run properly on my phone when i side load it. That’s why i use Strelok

I use Strelok occasionally on PBs. Chairgun is really designed around airguns and Hawke scopes so it is hard to beat for me. :horse:
