Cricket accuracy review
This is my first review and accuracy test on my cricket I got before Christmas. I did put a Synthetic stock and pod on it Friday and did some indoor shooting. I have gotten better shooting this as I’m a first time pup user. As you will notice which groups turned out the best were the last ones as they will speak for themselves. Test were done inside with decent light but my right eye had problems focusing but all in all I’m happy with the gun as it shoots great. Thanks Peter for the great sale! will leave you some feed back.
SO the smaller targets are at 50 and the bigger targets at 60 yards. I did shoot two 14 shot groups at 60 yards which will show a bigger hole in the target.
Hopefully link will work for you guys. Pictures of gun come first then the targets. Enjoy

My Hawke Varmint 6-24x went Milky once past 12x though …

16x on my Hawke is crystal clear and 18x ain’t too shabby, but you can really start to tell it at 20x
I was used to a 3-12×44 leapers so it is an upgrade for me. It’s good enough for my level of marksmanship at the moment.
Now I just have to learn how to hold the darn thing still when I shoot :winkn:
Look thru an empty roll of Toiletpaper. THAT is crystal clear in comparison to a Leapers. I have no experience on Hawke Sidewinders but the lesser lines (Varmint,Eclipse,Panorama etc.) are nothing to write home about.
Coda raves about them SW´s though and i tend to trust his opinion in the matter. Don´t ask me why – i have no clue … 😯
I’ll have to sit down and study that Chairgun thingy one of these days :winkn:
I´d like to learn it as well but i have no patience nor nerves with anything computer-related. It should be a good tool though.
Anyone tried the Strelok-app for AG use ?? Works well for Powderburners but i don´t know if so with AG´s.
Yup my zero comes from chairgun. 36 yards but I have to check fps again as I did turn hammer spring screw out some and didn’t check what it was shooting after. Just too cold

Yep 8-32×56 and you’re right it starts getting less clear when you reach the 20’s. 24x is about my max. Also my backyard is cleared out to 50 yds and it lets plenty of light in the scope. My shooting lane that I’m rough cutting further into the woods doesn’t let a whole lot of light in so she gets even more blurry as I try to shoot into the jungle 😉
I’ve got it rough cut to almost 70 yds now and can hit wine corks using close to 2 mildot hold over.
A couple of guys over at the yellow mentioned zeroing my scope to 50 yds? I dunno…..most of my shots would probably be within the 30 to 55 yd range? So I figure 35 yd zero for that?
My 50yd groups will have to tighten up before I feel the need to shoot further.

I use the optimal sight=in range from Chairgun. Its normally about 44 yards for a 900 fps pellet.

Try the one i have on my Sako BR rifle – IOR Bench Rest Comp 36x. It’s clear as Chrystal. Ok, it’s fixed power but anyway. The Delta 4.5-30x on the Cricket is very crisp and clear at 30x max power.

They say shoot for the moon and you might get something in between. My Hawke at 20 power is a bit high on 1st mildot. At 36 yard zero. Gosh you have a 8-32 on the bug is that right. You should be able to terminate flies that perch themselves on target at 100 yards. I feel 20 power for 6-20 x42 is about the limit to scopes clarity. Can’t imagine at any thing past 24 power. Bet it’s cloudy and dim

I can’t imagine shooting 100 yds for now? I’d need a 50 power scope? LOL
Oh, by the way…..I’m zeroed at 30-35 yds……the 50 yd shots were done with 1.5 mildot hold over at 24 power or what ever you call it on the pro-reticle Hawke scope? It’s all new to me.
Not too shabby. You just need to keep practicing. If I and my airgun can’t do dime size groups at fifty then I have to find out what is wrong. The cricket truly is a 100 yard gun if the shooter is up to it. I’m going to have to get a better rest for bench rest.

All are 5 shot groups and most are under a dime size.

Eelect, you motivated me to give it the 50 yd try. I started out so tight at 35 yds I had to try it today. Then the wind started picking up dang it.
Not near as good as yours but really really good for me. I’m a happy Cricketeer! 😉

I use Strelok app and it does work great too. But it can be tricky as temp and humidity is taken into effect and can throw it off when they are not right
