I was told by your US distributor that they were not being made… 😀

I still want one though! 😆

I wanted to use it for field target, i’m currently in first place for the season (6 of 9 matches) at my local club using one of my two USFT’s (we have some really good national upper level shooters there too). I also wanted to use it for silhouettes. I’ve shot three perfect scores at my last three matches, 40/40 and shooting at 96% for the seven matches to date. I could shoot the last three matches at 0/40 and still take first…

I signed up for a Lelya (wanted to use it for pistol FT and pistol silhouettes) but apparently those have been scrapped too because of the demand for the larger caliber Matadors.

I guess if you’re a competition 177 shooter (and a good one at that) you’re shit out of luck getting an EdGun in the USA..? 😥

Not sure why a 177 caliber Matador couldn’t be had, it’s not like they are cheaper than the 22 or the 25, so no real loss on your end (barrels are the same outside diameter yes?). If someone was on the list for one why not make one for the USA as you do for other countries if they are still being made..? 😕

I’d like a Matador Standard in 177 as the website shows, please…. 😉

I pointed this out a long time ago (website was never updated) and there is no such thing as a 177 Matador in any size. They haven’t been made since the r2’s were being produced, what three, four years ago, maybe more? 😯

The demand for this caliber is very, very small in comparison to .22, that is the reason why I just don’t make it, almost. Having a waiting line for more then 6 months for .22 it wouldn’t be clever to make .177 when the demand ratio between them is about 3/100. On the other hand, I understand that there are some countries where .177 is the only option and make .177 especially for such countries. I sent some .177 to Cyprus and UK recently, there will be some made in December for those countries as well.

I’m afraid that site hasn’t been updated for quite some time……… 😉

Not even the Russian version of it….

Have you checked the EdGun site recently?

TGAG is the USA distributor for the Cricket. I’ll bet their website and the Kaliber site gets updated before Ed removes the 177 caliber model from the Matador specs on his website. 😆

The website (in general terms), perhaps the easiest media to update immediately, is typically the last item to be updated. Sad but true. 😥

You are welcome to not agree with the stated price or method of sale, but your question as to the legitimacy of this venture is uncalled for.

We are on a forum for one, two I question everything when it comes to sending my money to any second, third, forth party that’s how you learn the answers. My real motive was to find out how I can invest in this venture sounds like something I could totally do the right way, I have an abundance of financial resources and I was just hoping this could be something I could get in on.

Your real motive would have been nice up front.

Somebody has struck a deal with somebody…..

That’s NOT a crime in any way, – and I have no reasons to believe that things are not good on your side of the pond…. 😉

BUT who’s the counterpart on this side of the pond ???? 🙄

If an official US-dealership has been established, – why not come forward and say so in clear writing …??? If such a dealership has been established, – it’s not about this first list only but sales further up ahead too. And it has a lot to do with where to get service, spareparts etc. etc. etc….

If an official dealership has not been established, – there may be problems lurking in the bushes along with your birds….

I think the counterpart on this side of the pond should identify himself. It would make everything more transparent….. 😉

My thoughts only……. 😀

And MikeMilz: Money clearly helps, – but it does not sort the problem short term. It takes time running in a new factory, – and I for one would avoid being among those to get the first guns out of same. For instance rumours are that some will have LW barrels, some CZ barrels:

The calibers involved have not been specified. Also regardless of size of new factory, – there are always third parties involved supplying parts like hammersprings, wood for stocks etc. I have no idea how flexible these guys are…..

But if you’re serious about it, – why not shoot them an email and ask for a quotation ? 😉

myself, I am not questioning that everyone on this side of the pond has their hearts in the right place…you, Bori and Steve are untarnished in my view

that said there are folks questioning the secrecy in this matter particularly when it does seem that what is going on is that Mavrick is more or less out of the loop and the CZ Crickets are I assume being produced under license by a third party and at a rather escalated markup from Mavrick’s own production in the Russias

not saying out sourcing to CZ is a bad thing and the list system is established as mostly the norm with custom and semi custom products even here in the USA

Zocoloco is the problem money? I’m trying to understand why they just don’t make 2000 guns for the U.S. If the demand is here for the guns. Do they nut have the fund to fabricate the guns or is it getting them here. I would love to invest in a venture to bring these guns here and sell them. The whole list thing and who is putting them together is a little weird to me when you are talking about $1850, if some one is going to resell them here why not make a web site and sell them there? I could have that done in 48 hours and done legit.

Here is the post by Steve in CT over on the Yellow forum. He seems to be okay with the people involved and the process.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1346954061/Regarding+the+cricket+bullpup+stocks..

I’ve done lot’s of business with TGAG and enough business with Steve Smith to know that both are straight shooters.

I believe that their are other rifles sold from overseas that require “getting on a list” and they expense is equal to, if not more than $1850.

You are welcome to not agree with the stated price or method of sale, but your question as to the legitimacy of this venture is uncalled for.

Well may be not for the same reason (plenty of brilliant dealers/RFDs with a multitude of brands around, Woodys of Wembley in UK being one), but yes I would have sacked him too. Anybody with the ability to speak about their suppliers in that manner would have lived a very dangerous life also in my organisation (the one I once had…)

😀

I’ve read a thread on S.A. forum, you are right, that was a last straw 🙂

Ed

Not any more. I always tell my representatives — you can sell any guns together with EDguns, no problem. But if you want to sell Maverick’s guns — you should choose either my guns or his guns, they cannot be sold together by the same dealer. So, SA dealer choose Kalibr guns, good for him, he is not my dealer any more.

I expect a renewed site up and running sometime soon. That said the Czech company was registered sometime back in Dec 2010. Apparently with two owners, – none of them named Maverick (?????):

Share capital of some CSK 200.000 which is about USD 10.500 (obviously not enough to build a new factory) and shares split bewteen two individuals based on a 50/50 split…… 🙄

In my book a 50/50 split is the “road to hell”. Nobody has a majority and the result of that can prove veeery dangerous in future.

That said, if you read the South African forum link I posted (its in English), – you’ll find statements like:

“Not many people have managed to get these rifles from KaliburGun, but after a few nights with Dimitri the owner in Germany and lots and lots and lots of alcohol I managed to secure them.”

and:

“Actually Richard the Engineer and factory manager speaks “Englisk” very well. Dimitri the owner can say Yes for more whiskey, and is very good with that word….!!! Eva works for them and she is fluent in English and 5 other languages.”

Why is it I have a feeling this SA-importer status (actually the same guy represents ED) may not be lasting that long … 😉

Somewhere further down the thread shipment of the first 50 guns is scheduled for the end of August. The factory engineer confirms the first 50 to go to South Africa……..

And why does not our friend “Kalibrgunsusa” speak up ?????

If he is the “official” US-rep, – he should. My guess is that “nick” belongs to the manufacturer in the Czech Republic wantiing to peep into his US-market place. And all this about a list in the US and the related secrecy may have come as a surprise to them…..

Unofficial parallel import already ???? 🙄

I may want to give them a call………. 😉

😀

thing for me is what we have right now are just birds in the bush

– and NIK, – thanks for the “fifth P”, – may I have another one now please ???? 😉

1. Riverside, any bird is good for me as long as she comes from Shepherd’s Bush 😉 Been utterly pleased by all of them… So far… 😀

2. Trygve, the most important “P”, again in my book, is “PLEASED”!!! Which all the other “P”s should aim at, customer wise 😉

Which, unfortunately, is not the case regarding my latest acquisition 😥

🙂
